Yellow Sea is godly you cretin

I Saw the Devil is insufferable but Oldboy is legit. Also, no Bittersweet Life?

>yellow sea
>Thirst
>the chaser
>no the host
>no my sassy girl
>no a tale of two sister
>no attack the gas station

Lee Chang-dong, Kim Ki-duk, and Park Chan-wook are literally the only Korean directors worth watching. If your list has any movies not made by one of these three then your list is wrong.

Kinky Duck is overrated.

>Makes a thread about Korean movies
>Doesn't put "The New World" as nr 1

But memories is a good contender as well.

>look at me i'm le contrarian XDDD

What about Crying Fist and Lady Vengeance? Does Sup Forums like them?

South Korean.

Exactly what I was thinking. Fuck this thread already.

Who are Na Hong-jin or Im Kwon-taek

>no Hong Sang-soo

"The Beauty Inside" was extremely comfy. Liked the concept too.

I know it's really recent but the handmaiden is already my favorite Korean film. Although I haven't seen MoM yet because I'm a piece of shit.

>I like Memories of Memes because of that one Every Frame a Painting video
Mr.Vengeance is way better

I doubt most people who like MoM have seen that.

why are the police always so incompetent in Asian cinema?

korean movies are fucking great. any film with:

1. song kang ho ( main male lead of memories of murder, thirst, sympathy for mr vengeance, the attorney, secret sunshine, J.S.A. etc. )

2. jung woo ha ( the yellow sea, chaser, tunnel, my dear enemy etc. )

3. jeon do yeon ( female lead of secret sunshine, my dear enemy, happy end, the housemaiden, way back home )

There are ofc many other good south korean films such as breathless, castaway on the moon, bedevilled, a girl at my door, the wailing, my sassy girl, hot young bloods and I'm sure I forgot some of them for the moment.

I would also recommend song kang ho's older movies such as a quiet family and the foul king.

>way better
it is not. the difference is that mom had weaker characters than mr vengeance. the city police guy was shit. boot guy and cheif were awesome.

I love MoM and I have no idea what he's talking about. I've only see that, the yellow sea and I saw the devil and I loved all three. Oh I watched oldboy years ago and I didn't like it at all.

>Bedevilled
>that high
>no Secret Sunshine on your list

Nah

Joint Security Area

I know nobody will watch this movie anyway

I watched it now, it is kinda cool how he describes it, but I still know I didn't enjoy MoM as much as others say.

I've seen it and it's Park's best.

Probably my favourite SK movie even if it's not really the best.

The Admiral: Roaring Currents was warkino tbqh senpai

>totally entry-level list that hates Oldboy for being entry-level
lol

>no sassy girl

>90▶
>The Admiral: Roaring Currents was warkino

Korean pleb here and I watched it the other night. It's a bit over the top at points but it was good.

This movie is in such a weird place. It seems that every movie buff knows it but when you actually ask, no one knows about it.

With that said, it's terrific but you have to see past the horrible European actors. The story more than makes up for it.

bump

Haven't seen all those in the OP but I definitely liked A Bittersweet Life, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring and The Handmaiden more than Yellow Sea and Bedevilled.

>that edgy oldboy hate

jesus grow up

>Actors
>Not directors
Spotted the pleb.

lol

this

True kino.
