It doesn't say Panasonic. So you're wrong and I just proved it.

Toshiba? Didn't even know theyre still in the game.
Thought it was mostly samsung these days.

Not that good shit
You mean second rate Sony

Samsung. Chinese Pannel Lottery.

Quality - LG
Overall - Samsung
Value - Vizio

good list

LG OLED tvs look the best imo

No it gos
Quality toshbia
Overall sony
Value Westinghouse

LG.

I have their signature series OLED and it's mind blowing. UHD releases look drop dead gorgeous.

Best picture and color is Samsung, but some dont seem to last very long.

fixd

LGs are utter shit. 90% of them have issues with developing flickering vertical lines.

it really depend on the specific model.
renowned companies like Panasonic, Samsung or Sony also have shitty products, while you can buy good tvs from lesser known brands (e.g. here in europe Philips makes many good budget models)

samsung makes the best

Sharp quit the tv business and now became Hisense.
They were good a decade ago though.

nah

I need a new 46 inch. Cant decide between Samsung or Sony.

My last Samsung was top of the line but developed some vertical lines within 3 yrs.

>Sharp quit the tv business and now became Hisense.

No, chinese corporation Hisense bought their Mexican factory and the right to sell TVs under their brand name in North and South America.
But Sharp still makes TVs on its own and sells them in Europe and Asia (it's still the leading brand in Japan).

>toshiba

Lol the majority of their TVs are made by Best Buy in North America. Also their "4K" sets have the worst up scaling I have ever seen

Sony sets are generally much better made and use IPS panels whereas Samsung STILL uses TN panels so side viewing will be shit. Don't fall for the curved screen meme either.

Any source on your claim about Japan?

SONY IS THE BEST TV

ALWAYS WAS THE BEST AND REMAINS THE BEST

FUCKOFF COREANS

COLUMBIA MOVIE STUDIO THAT THEY PURCHASED IS HOT GARBAGE, BUT SONY CONSUMER ELECTRONICS ARE THE GOAT

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharp_Corporation

>Sharp's television market share in North America was 4.6% in 2015.[25] However Sharp remains the biggest television brand in the Japanese market.[5]

Kill yourself.
Retard

I have a Sony 49" or so, don't like the android os so I use another set top box, but I like everything else about the tv

Sony (as well as most other brands) use MVA, not TN. Nobody makes TN tvs, it's MVA for everyone except LG who makes some IPS tvs. I highly recommend MVA or IPS for tv, IPS is nice for pc monitors if you care more about colour quality over refresh rate, but MVA is nicer for movies. The contrast ratio really makes a difference as a lot of movies tend to use darker colours.

Samsung

meant MVA over IPS

Toshiba

Oh yeah 2 years ago, that makes sense.

I'm getting a new TV next week, what is it called where every new movie and TV show looks like a shitty soap opera on certain TVs?

It's called not haveing Toshiba

What do u mean dude?

Have I have one these bad boy in my Moter home it's better then yours I love watch Georgia tech

Objectively speaking, LG has the highest-end TVs out right now

Samsung is a close second

The rest don't really matter

I bought a cheap-ass TCL with a built in Roku for $125 a few weeks ago and it just works

Shut the fuck up you poor person

motion interpolation or something like that
some use blur reduction smooth motion

afaik it can be turned off in all cases and it mostly comes with premium tvs

every company has its trademark name for that function: MotionFlow (Sony), TruMotion (LG), Clear Motion (Samsung)...
just turn it off

all TV's no matter how high-end have a set expiration date due to shitty LED tech

enjoy spending $5k every 3 years on a new set cuck

"Soap Opera Effect"
or
Cinema/Theatre Mode
or
motion interpolation
or
frame interpolation
or
motion estimation/motion compensation (MEMC)

Basically the tv will advertise how its can 'boost' the refresh rate from the standard video to something like 120 hz or 240 hz or more, promising smoother action scenes in movies and better sports, etc.

>turn it off
...except for the Porn you watch using the build in DLNA player off the media server on your desktop

money shot at over 9000 frames per second

is there a point to backlights on a tv or is it purely for show?

terrible meme, worse than 3d or curved screens

I hadn't thought about that, thanks for the tip.
but what if it's a feature-porn-kino?

Pretty hype for my new tv. Samsung a best.

I don't Toshiba is good and cheap and will lasted long

>Sony

Hobbit disease

The one that makes a television that lasts a long time at the resolution I want.

Oh wait that's every single one now.

I've had some brand called Scepter for like 3 years now. Zero issues. When 4k televisions come down a to the 300 dollar range at 40 inches I'll get whatever hits that price point.

Probably won't be disappointed.

All these premium brand televisions are manufactured in shit-hole countries by slave labor and cheapest parts.

You're a fool if you pay more. It's why Sony's on their way out and Samsung is a literal meme in it's place due to their phones being popular.

>Quantum dots
>not actually on the quantum scale
Nice try, Samsung.
Though given their recent phone and washer issues, I'm glad they're not messing with quantum mechanics.

No it's not

Their shitty TVs sent us to the Berenstain universe.

Can I sell you a tv

I like my Grundig. Although, the sound isn't all that great. It was cheap though.

Purely aesthetic.

Why would someone by a 4k tv? There's no 4k broadcasts nor media, and by the time it starts to become commonplace the physical or virtual media may not even be compatible. Yet most tv sets offered are 4k. Seems like a ripoff, plus you may get a shitty upscale.

>that one user who works for Toshiba

What's it like to be a shill?

Who?

>tfw bought a Toshiba laptop and the screen had a dead pixel
>they wouldn't take care of it because one dead pixel is somehow not a reason for the product to be considered defective according to some bullshit norm
yeah never buying toshiba again that's for sure.

I'm not it's called being a hard worker and not on welfare like you

Fuck.
It actually is on quantum scale.

yfw Samsung causes a rip in spacetime

just bought this yesterday. pretty fuckin rad

Dunno about America but Toshiba is just another Vessel brand in Europe now
digitaltveurope.net/593012/vestel-to-produce-toshiba-branded-tvs-in-europe/

Vidoe games

Grundig, nigga.

Some of there laptops are bad but not all at least it's not acer

>It's thinking
Sega gonna sues omebody!
youtube.com/watch?v=CTxNahIBVas

It's not hard to shill on the Internet. And I ain't on welfare seeing as I got a job in law enforcement.

Is that a filipino brand

Had a Grundig CRT once, didn't know they were still around

>tfw my friend gave me a free extra Samsung monitor because it had a band of dead pixels in the very upper right corner that pissed him off and I barely even notice

my previous lap was toshiba and I was so happy, when it got old and beat up I bought another and I hate it to death.

there's 4k vidya already? dayum.

Like what doing paper work? I bet your fat ass won't get you anywhere you fucking pig

Stay mad Tyrone.

Witches 3 on ultra

I'm white piggie how the donuts taste like
Dead cops

I can't afford a console, I'm a poor eurofag. then again most vidya nowadays doesn't really do it for me. I'm happy with my good ol' snes

Toshibas are trash. I came up on one cause it was broken. I replaced a board, it worked for like 5 months before it started fucking up again. I could update the firmware and sometimes that would fix it. It did have a pretty good picture though.

I currently have a samsung 60" 1080p plasma.

Are you Greek or Ukrainian

many great historically renowned german tv brands like Grundig, Telefunken, SABA or Nordmende are now rebranded chinese or turkish crap. The original factories went bankrupt years ago and somebody just bought the rights over the brand name.

>samesung

Nice meme bomb

Tell me user why do you hate samsung so much?

I live in Spain but I'm no disgusting spaniard.

Germans can't do Electronics that's why all the electronics in Benzs go shit

People hate company's that take make good shit like samesung

Muslims I bet

They are kickass for computer screens.

I have a 55" 4k Proscan (shitty hit-or-miss off brand, but 4:4:4 chroma and I got a good panel which apparently is like winning the lottery with these) for $300 all in and use it as a computer screen, it's fucking insane how much real estate I have.

>There's no 4k broadcasts nor media
Wrong. Directv has 4k content including live sports.

German
They're decent tv's desu.
Well it's still pretty decent.

Being retarded.

Supposesdly, Samsung and Sharp are the main manufacturers and industry leaders of display panels like LCD found in most devices, is this not correct?

Bases on this I always assumed these two were the best, I mean they even make the screens for Sony and shit, no? I'm a bit sad to hear Sharp is gone. I'm thinking of trying to find one of their TV's for a good price now before they're gone

Fuck it, I'm with you man. These plebs just don't know.

aesthetics/looks/build: sony
picture quality/colors: samsung
bang for the buck: LG

that's the only three you should care about

honorable mention: Vizio
godtier of the past: Toshiba(plasma)

have a SUHD too
holy fuck it looks good with UHD blu rays

What's the consensus on curved TV's?

LG oled's are the best you can buy atm

this thread is full of retards who don't know the first thing about display technology

there's a bunch of blu rays with "4k transfers", whatever that means

There's a lot of pay per view nigger nigger nigger newfag bitch redditor faggot kill yourself gaylord back to Sup Forums with you newfriend.

>is there a point to backlights on a tv or is it purely for show?

the point of the backlight is to make your shitty tv that can't show true black like an oled tv does actually appear darker than it actually is. it tricks your eyes into thinking your tv isn't a piece of shit.

>quantum dot

congrats on getting scammed and paying too much money for some shitty lcd

>Supposesdly, Samsung and Sharp are the main manufacturers and industry leaders of display panels like LCD found in most devices, is this not correct?

is it correct that they make the best lcd's?

yes, maybe.

is it also correct that lcd is a garbage technology that will be abandoned entirely because oled is superior in just about every way, especially when it comes to image quality? definitely.

if you are buying a lcd tv right now, you are throwing your money in the trash. pioneer is dead, panasonic is dead, plasma is dead--long live oled, and lcd can fuck right off the way it should have ten years ago when SED displays should have taken it's place.

>No one mentions the Pioneer Kuro
Plebs.

>plasma
Ok grandpa
