It's the fact that people of different backgrounds can get along so well in America that has led to it becoming such a dominant superpower. If it wasn't for people like the people in the photo we would just be as irrelevant as Mexico

Even something as simple as seeing someone of an immigrant from a foreign culture assimilating slightly to local culture gives people a huge surge of hopefulness and appreciation in light of the horrible portrait the media is constantly cooking up to keep the different groups at odds and more likely to produce dramatic headlines.
