I'm always blown away how toxic that website is. It's useful to get a quick answer to something specific like Yahoo Answers but more information. It has a sick culture because of the up vote/ down vote system. Anyone can see if a comment is doing well or poorly and this impacts their opinion, the most popular comment goes to the top, the least popular (but in no way incorrect or unreasonable usually) gets deleted or hidden. Its also HEAVILY modded. Also people can see your post history and even link to it meaning you can't change opinions, learn or grow, and don't you dare put anything even close to personal info on there. The end product is an Orwellian dystopia, no free speech, all PC, plus people don't want to read long comments so short pithy quips that are PC become the bulk of the content. Fag central.

you would think. I was subbed to r/Sup Forums and had posted some typical crude humor from r9k here and there. The guy and his friends on there (or maybe he just had multiple accounts) said I was clearly a pedophile and depraved and shit and that they needed to expose me in real life before I harm any women with my mysoginy. He was upvoted to top comment regularly. I was complaining about how there's all these womens only things at my uni but no mens only stuff. Scariest thing that's happened to me on the internet by far, you know that feeling you get on here when you say something dumb and get trolled or called newfag and lose the argument and then feel like your ego is a bit bruised for 10 minutes? This was 10x worse, I worried for two straight days about what was coming for me.

That's what usually happens here. Our websites requires personal identification, there is no anonymous system(all user is verified by id) so every people watch out their comments, don't bitch about celebrites(or 'don't cross the line').

How doe anyone use reddit? Whenever there is more than 50 comments a the thread it becomes confusing as fuck. Arranging posts in chronological order is best desu.
