Is it any good? I love the books. Does it translate well to TV or is it too cartoony? It seems like the narration style won't really work for TV.

>I can't find the sugar bowl
>When did you see her last

It's full of these little cheeky references that come off as kind of... pander-ey

The girl who plays violet her lips are to distracting

>this one's a little lemony

is a show made in 2017 any good?
>no

Be sensible. It was released in January. It must have been made in 2016.

It was probably written and pitched way before. So it was "done" well before that.

is there any frontal nudity?

It's good, but the film is much better.

I've never heard anybody say anything good about the film...

This show will definitely trigger Sup Forums with its constant yiddish culture.

Then you need to stop talking to plebs.

>too cartoony, usually doesn't capture much of the gloominess of the books
>ruins the anachronism of the setting, makes it too modern
>the VFD spy shit is horrible
>NPH is pretty bad as Olaf when he isn't in disguise

I definitely don't think it's bad though. And on the plus side,
>I thought Warburton was a terrible choice for Snicket but he's doing great
>Olaf's troupe is great
>theme song's pretty good

>that's the wrong question

Somebody should document these little references

The show seems okay for the early books, but when things get convoluted and complicated later, I don't think the show will be able to do that properly.

Pretty funny watching NPH shill the streaming/netflix format in-character.

Hook Handed Man/Fernald is pretty funny.

>Taxi driver is heavily hinted in the book to be Lemony
>He isn't in the show

shit

>"hey Mr adult please save us from this man in disguise who is obviously trying to kidnap us"
>"who? this kind man? don't be stupid kids"
Rinse and repeat 1000 times. It gets boring.

Yeah, the ~6 books could be condensed to 3 or 4 without really losing anything. But the second half is much less repetitive.

>Josephine finding her courage when facing olaf instead of promising to go away

immersion ruined
