Previously on Doctor /who/

Is it odd that I find the actress more attractive as the bug than her fortune teller character in turn left? Chan Tho was a qt right fellas?

Bank holiday mondays are relaxing
Jules Verne and Edgar Rice Burroughs are writers
Derring Do is being adventurous/heroic/courageous

He's saying that his episode is comfy fun. It's really not that hard to understand user

Reminder

>sonic is ugly no matter who holds it.

>gold, blue, silver, green
literally what the fuck were they thinking? Had the designer never heard of colour theory before?

what did neonvisual mean by this?
youtube.com/watch?v=bDedZuKBMWw

The color isn't even the offensive part to me. It's that it's over machined and the design lacks elegance and looks like a modded vape pen. Should have kept the sunnies full time until the next doctor was cast anyway.

We only got the new Sonic cause Character wanted to make a new toy. The BBC originally said no but then Character came to them with the design

/capitalism/

>either the new Sonic or the sonic shades
we're better off desu

Much would have preferred Officially licensed doctor who wayfarers by rayban,or even a toy pair that trills when you push the silver bits.

>Thinks the sonic is ugly
>Buys one anyway

Just because something's ugly doesn't mean you shouldn't spend money on it. I'm sure your parents have bought you gifts,clothes, food etc.

Cloister once again proves that he can slay.

stop samefagging

>Character came to them with the design
do you have proofs of this?

How did the Doc manage to open that door in Heaven Sent by speaking to it? I thought "finally no sonic screwdriver, he's gonna have to do something clever", but no..

wood is sentient

Why have we still not got the 8th Doctor miniseries everyone desperately wants? Just imagine how cool it would be during a hiatus for the BBC to maybe release a small series of episodes, it wouldn't even matter how long they were as The Night of the Doctor proved a small yet effective story can work.

Yet, the Beeb made Class.

>everyone desperately wants

>not liking the sunnies
pleb spotted

Might be the most stupidest thing I've heard in Doctor Who.

ahm chloee webbuh

Just axe the current series and throw the 8th Doctor series on with someone that is actually capable of forming coherent and logical stories.

~~~~THAT'S GARETH!!!!!!!!!~~~~
Haven't seen that one in yonks, what happened again? Something about a fairy laying eggs in that arty girl?
Would anybody be willing to upload/share the Behind the Scenes audio file from Doom Coalition 3?
think so
The only good bit of the episode is the little gag at the start
what's this handsome fella's name?
>Big Finish, at least under Nicholas Briggs’ stewardship of the Doctor Who range, has wholly embraced nostalgia as a defining characteristic of their work, and nowhere is this better represented than in the Fourth Doctor Adventures.Briggs has described the range as an attempt to recapture how he felt watching Doctor Who as a teenager in the 1970s, and you can see that throughout the five series. There’s a strong embrace of the Hinchcliffe-era gothic horror motif, but it’s leavened by a lot of Williams-era humor. This is how the same series can, for example, involve both mysterious goings-on in a quaint English village as well as the Master teaming up with the Kraals. If you’ve followed my reviews, you’ll know that I do not find this to be advantageous; instead, I think this obsessive focus on nostalgia hurts the company’s ability to tell new and interesting stories involving Tom Baker.
>So now we come to “Kravenos” and we notice something interesting: it’s set during season 18. We’ve got the Peter Howell theme, the Doctor on the cover in the red coat – there’s no question about it, this is season 18. And unlike any other season in the classic series, season 18 features very strong thematic consistency as well as a consistent visual and aural aesthetic. Even a story like “State of Decay,” which was explicitly repurposed from an earlier era, is produced in a manner utterly unique to this single year of Doctor Who. So while I don’t clamor for nostalgia, if you’re going to produce a story set in season 18 as part of a range whose very existence is predicated on nostalgia, I think at a bare minimum you should try to recapture the style of that season.
Doctor Omega inspired Doctor Who
youtube.com/watch?v=rjnOs4NV6bM
>Naturally, “Kravenos” doesn’t bother. It’s exactly the same Hinchcliffe/Williams amalgamation that we’ve been listening to for five years before this. And Briggs’ explanations for this insult the intelligence. Imagine, he replies when asked about the period-inappropriate music, if Dudley Simpson had been asked to stay on for one more story. The problem with this idea is that it presumes that it would ever have been a possibility. John Nathan-Turner didn’t change Doctor Who’s entire aesthetic by accident; he wanted to give the series a kick up the ass and restart it in a bold, new direction. If you watch the Tom Baker era in sequence, the Howell theme alone at the start of The Leisure Hive is a complete shock to the system. Simpson would never have been kept on for season 18. To imagine that he would have is to imagine the history of the series is false. I do believe, therefore, that if you are going to explicitly set a story in season 18, you have an obligation to embrace its aesthetic, just like you wouldn’t populate a season 17 story with dour, humorless characters.
>But that’s the point. The “nostalgia” that dominates the Fourth Doctor Adventures isn’t a steadfast determination to recreate a particular era or season of the show – if it were, “Kravenos” would not have been produced for this series. Instead, it’s a long-running attempt to recreate how Nick Briggs felt when he watched it at 16. And Briggs doesn’t like season 18, so here we are. Ultimately, “Kravenos” is just another in a long line of generic Tom Baker Doctor Who stories, but with season 18 décor cynically slapped on it in an attempt to get fans of that season to buy it.
This is exactly how I felt, but expressed much better than I could have managed.
That's Morgan the teddy bear from Bananas in Pajajmas :)
FINGERS ON LIPS
Thanks for the link! Doom Coalition doesn't seem to be on there, but there's some other interesting goodies here to look into :)
It's unhygienic as fuck and it's parents' duty to tell you off for it
>YOU JUST TOOK A COUNCIL AXE FROM A COUNCIL VAN AND NOW YOU'RE DIGGING UP A COUNCIL ROAD
Remind me why Fear Her is bad again? It's max comfy
We need a PCap episode where he's just trying to solve a mystery on a suburban street
I use my thumb to separate my lip from the bottle
bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/clips/index.html
Did anyone else here used to just sit on this website watching these classic clips, I was like 7 and desperately wanted to see the episodes not knowing if I ever would.
Returning when?
it always surprised me there is hardly any porn of all the whacky races dr. who has.
An alien like her would be praised at the xeno thread in /aco/
i can't believe moffat has kept up the wood thing all these years
he could have just as easily 1ignoASDWCD but for some reason decided to keep it.
NEVER. That episode fucking sucks, I got through rest of Trial easily and somehow enjoyed it but that was utter fucking shit.
so you get milk all over your thumb?
Yep! My first experience with Doctor Who. I definitely remember watching a clip from The Invasion. I hadn't seen a single episode but I was already obsessed - I spent so much time on that website reading about monsters and playing that TARDIS tennis game.
Yeah the sewer scene was the one I watched the most
Doctor who is fucking garbage.
It can tell any story in all of time and space and it always ends up a shitty looking celebration of mediocrity.
It's a predictable, safe formulaic children's show where the Le wacky man saves the day with some 'witty' banter and a 'clever' scheme.
The Doctor never goes anywhere in his development, just going from dark to light or dark to light depending on the incarnation.
It has no love for science or history, it just boils everything down for lowest common denominator. It's a waste of time and effort,
why don't you losers mature and watch some grown up television for a change.
You shouldn't watch doctor who unless it's with your own children but I really don't want you plebs procreating.
you guys are going through these threads quickly
twitter.com/OldRoberts953/status/831495133216591874
What did he mean by this?
My sources say the Meddling Monk, the Rani, Missy and the Corsair (who is apparently not dead) all appear in the finale, not as the Doctors enemies but as his allies. Someone is coming back and it will take all 5 Time Lords to work together to even have a chance at survival.
thanks
Elicited a hearty chuckle
>Gareth Roberts story
>Shit
Pick one
I like The Lodger and his Shada adaptation. Still find the joke funny though.
>The BBC, at least under Steven Moffat's stewardship of the Doctor Who range, has wholly embraced nostalgia as a defining characteristic of their work, and nowhere is this better represented than in Series Eight.Moffat has described the range as an attempt to recapture how he felt watching Doctor Who as a teenager in the 1970s, and you can see that throughout the series. There’s a strong embrace of the Hinchcliffe-era gothic horror motif, but it’s leavened by a lot of Williams-era humor. This is how the same series can, for example, involve both mysterious goings-on in a quaint English village as well as Missy teaming up with the Cybermen. If you’ve followed my reviews, you’ll know that I do not find this to be advantageous; instead, I think this obsessive focus on nostalgia hurts the company’s ability to tell new and interesting stories involving Peter Capaldi.
>So now we come to “Listen” and we notice something interesting: it’s set during season 0. We’ve got the Murray Gold theme, the floof under the red blanket – there’s no question about it, this is season 0. And unlike any other season in the classic series, season 0 features very strong thematic consistency as well as a consistent visual and aural aesthetic. Even a story like “Lungbarrow,” which was explicitly repurposed from a later era, is produced in a manner utterly unique to this single year of Doctor Who. So while I don’t clamor for nostalgia, if you’re going to produce a story set in season 0 as part of a range whose very existence is predicated on nostalgia, I think at a bare minimum you should try to recapture the style of that season.
Yes, good work, son. Keep the meme alive and we can will it into reality. Sup Forums even pitched in on the efforts with a very successful Atwell thread yesterday.
Hey lads, it's Valentines Day. Claim you Who waifus and you will be together in the Matrix after you die.
She was such a strange looking qt
git fuckt
Fuck you /who/ you're actually starting to convince me Hayley is a viable choice for the 13th Doctor.
not an awful choice, still would prefer Kelly Macdonald tho
Claimed
Or maybe the christmas companion?
Say what you will about her more recent years, but in her prime she was the #1 GOAT Who qt.
Happy Valentine's Day /who/!
I don't come here very often anymore but I just wanted to let you guys know I love you all very much!
That's because she is a viable choice.
Nice to see you Paint user... It's been a while
youtube.com/watch?v=GajuOySP9Tg
Is this the best 12th Doctor speech?
Fucking gorgeous Paint user. Happy Valentine's day mate.
I've been converted to the Hayley army too, user
Someone send this to ol Colin
I want to see the Hayley Doctor wearing tight button down shirts just like this. Would the BBC allow it?
No. Just like how they won't allow a female Doctor :^).
Which companion had the best theme and why is it Rose?
youtu.be/hkh1hWLtOdg
Would be cool if she was introduced in the Christmas special and then carried over into Series 11 with the next Doctor.
Not sure they'd have a female companion with a female Doctor though - if they go that route
martha was so qt
CROOKED
Wonder if, if they do a Series 2 of Class, the 13th Doctor will feature
I... I love you!
I keep forgetting this happened
Fuck
Even if it had nothing to do in Doctor Who you can't deny how powerful and sad this scene is.
youtu.be/5wdj16x6LYc
>no one will ever tell you they love you
>The same series that had this, the Impossible Planet, Girl in the Fireplace and Age of Steel also had Fear Her, The Idiot's Lantern and Love & Monsters
Jesus christ that series probably has the most polarised quality of episodes of any nuwho. Shit to kino on an episode by episode basis.
hey /who/ what should I draw from doctor who
Adam Orford
ROWS HOLD ON
When will Rose come back?
Never
