it should literally be illegal for jewish girls to have that hairstyle

>During the Tokyo launch, Paramount screened a scene from the movie where the Major interrogates a
man who believes he has a family, but soon realizes they were nothing
but a programmed memory. That is the same interrogation scene from the 1995 anime film.

Looks like this 2017 live action film is a mix between the original movie and SaC

i like it

>shot for shot with the anime
>Apologize,

No

Looks like kino to me.

It is both seasons of SAC and the original movie all mixed together.

very very promising

I really want to see Scarlet Johanson full naked

With some Innocence and Arise as well.

someone post her pusy im so horny!!!

youtube.com/watch?v=I_wNbaPsfoY

They really are not planning on a sequel.

akira when ?

lol close enough

That video just killed all of my skepticism, I'm officially hyped.

She does a few full frontal scenes in the movie Under the Skin (2013)

this ?

oh nice. Thats it mang

Yea, but there is another scene from that movie in a bedroom, closer look and from the front.

Taco* in the Shell

such a fucking piss over the original this is fucking pathetic

>copy a scene frame for frame from the anime
>looks good like the anime
wooow

nuke the thread, shills are here

It's an adaptation, it's not a recreation of the original movie

Why it's so difficult to manchildren understand that?

then dont bother they should have just made something else

>HE BRINGS THAT PISSING OVER

>adaption of an anime
>they adapt a scene faithfully
>this triggers the autists

>live action when!??? this is epic and deserves!!
>WAHHHHHHH WHY ISN'T JUST LIKE MY CARTOON
What did the children of anti-art mean by this?

Can't please anyone.

>You lived to witness the birth of anime映画

like what? they have the rights to do, why wouldn't they?

Do you realize that the entire Kubrick filmography and other many great films are adaptations of books, right? This case the adaptation it's from an anime, it doens't matter

>Forced, soft, pitch-black CGI shadows

Why would ANYONE think this looks good?

>ABLOO ITS NOT A SHOT FOR SHOT REMAKE
>ABLOO ITS A SHOT FOR SHOT REMAKE

What do you want?

ah yeah hello, who is this?

Not as cool as the original. But the white part was decent at least.

>Ghost in the Shill 2017 - Shilling Sequence
Sounds about right.

>Forced, soft, pitch-black

What did he mean by this?

this, bunch of fucking autists the movie looks good enough, maybe ask your mom to buy you a ticket so you can enjoy something that's not capeshit

Might be the Pajeet who's filming's camera that's crushing the black parts more than it should. It probably is dark as fuck in the movie too but being a camrip doesn't help.

>Once again hand drawn cartoons manage to look better than $100 million CGi Hollywood renders

If they copied the anime scene for scene, maybe it would be good.
However, they instead seem to be copying certain scenes and not others, which ruins the context of said scenes. The original anime looks good because it all follows the same aesthetic. This movie, however, is just mashing them together with a shit directed holywood action filick

This, why hasnt CGI caught up to Avatar yet? Why is Cameron so based?!

>sudden random drums-beat and epilepsy flashes for 10 seconds
What the actual fuck.

DUDE EVIL CORPORATIONS LMAO

there cant be a more cliche scifi antagonist

Why don't they stop ruining everything ?

Why they have to ruin gits 1 ...

I apologize for watching this crappy adaptation version of a superior animation that surpasses even the top quality cg avaiolable today, this looks like some tv shit not even netflix tier

this is not faithful to the anime desu, dunno why people are saying that
in fact it looks like dogshit if you're comparing it to the original, but only because the original looks so amazing (see: much better color palette, more attention to detail, non-butchered version of the song)

but it's not bad for a modern sci-fi flick, I'm still generally interested in the movie, just not as a GITS adaptation.
I'm approaching it as just another cyberpunk blockbuster that happens to be inspired by GITS and from that angle it looks pretty good.

>shot for shot with the anime
Except for the lighting. Which is fucking absent.

Prepare to be disappointed.

actually I think the main reason this scene looks bad is because they didn't want to blow enough budget on it. look at the absurd amount of darkness and shadows and lack of detail, that isn't good cgi by any means.
darkness/blur/shadows = hiding the lack of time spent on details in the scene

but if we look at some of the other trailers from the film, like the shots of the city, there is a lot more detail and clearly more budget/time went into those scenes.

my question is why they chose to skimp the budget on the most iconic scene in movie

>my question is why they chose to skimp the budget on the most iconic scene in movie
Because the only people that will notice are the weebs, and they are going to watch it anyway.

And they are going to be disappointed regardless

yep, trying to satisfy weebs is like having Marvel make a DC movie

there's nothing you can do that won't make them spaz out in an autistic rage

Yeah, but hollywood doesn't care, as long as they watch it.

All they would really need to do is justice to a handful of iconic scenes and not butcher any of the character designs.
That's literally it, but there's never been an anime-adapted film to do it for some reason.

Shelling scene, chase scene, tank scene. That's it. Everything else would be forgiven as acceptable Hollywood sci-fi as long as it didn't do anything outlandishly retarded or laughably horrible.

The reason it's never been done is because appealing to fans gains them literally nothing. All they get by ignoring fans is some negative reviews, which they can brush off like piss on their leg.

where that inspiration tho
vimeo.com/96559833

yes what they need is a boring 15 minute boat conversation about entry level philosophy

this is pure animekino
looks like Sup Forums was wrong once again

Imagine being the Puppet Master in that scene and having to be all like "damn, Motoko Kusanagi, you fuckin' fine, all sexy with your flabby body and horrific androgynous monster face. I would totally merge my consciousness with you, both my ghost and the real me." when all he really wants to do is hack another loli sexbot in the red light district. Like seriously imagine having to be the Puppet Master and not only sit in that chair while Kusanagi flaunts her disgusting body in front of you, the favorable lighting barely concealing her stretchmarks and leathery skin, and just sit there, take after take, hour after hour, while she perfected that stance. Not only having to tolerate her monstrous fucking visage but her haughty attitude as everyone on set tells her she's STILL GOT IT and DAMN, KUSANAGI LOOKS LIKE *THAT*?? because they're not the ones who have to sit there and watch her mannish fucking gremlin face contort into types of grimaces you didn't even know existed before that day. You've been hacking nothing but a healthy diet of foreign diplomats and politicians and later Section 9 staff for your ENTIRE CAREER coming straight out of the boonies in Section 6. You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the sweat that's breaking out on her dimpled stomach as she sucks it in to writhe it suggestively at you, smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to get paid to sit there and merge with her "statuesque (for that is what she calls herself)" beauty, the beauty she worked so hard for with personal trainers in the previous months. And then the Minister of Foreign Affairs calls for another hacking, and you know you could kill every single person in this room before the cyberpolice could shut you down, but you sit there and endure, because you're the fucking Puppet Master. You're not going to lose your future ghost over this. Just bear it. Hide your face and bear it.

That's the whole appeal of the original movie.
Amazing animation and backgrounds, with some Descartes sprinkled on top.

It was still good overall though.
The point is, they're trying to imitate the good parts of the anime movie, without understanding what made them good. Like africans trying to make airplanes by making something in the shape of an airplane without understanding the mechanics. They don't seem to get why the anime movie was good, so they're taking the favorite scenes of fans and splicing them in thinking it will automatically make it good.

Take the breaking-through-glass scene. In the original, she jumps down, naked. She is naked because that's the only way the camo works (I believe it was part of her cyborg body's skin though I may be mistaken)
Suddenly, there's a single gunshot, a guy's head explodes everywhere. The police riddle the window with bullets, but all they see is the Major falling as she disappears back into the city. It's significant because it shows her surgical precision and stealth in one very quick scene. One moment, the man's alive, the next, his head has been blown off. It's brutal, but it's very precise and efficient.

Now, examine the scene from the trailer, which copies it. She's not naked. Instead its some weird body suit thing. If she doesn't need to be naked to use the camo, why not use something that resembles tactical clothes, like in SAC?
She drops from the building the same, but instead of wiping out the target with a single bullet as she passes, she jumps through the window (fully visible and not camoflaged) and starts shooting while jumping off the walls. Why? because it looks stylish. There's no precision to it, no suspense. It's just "oh she's running on walls, its so cool like the matrix!"
It shares the same elements: the window breaking, the drop, the nakedness, but it fails to capture what made the original anime scene good.

wow this really is a Ghost in the Shill
never watch western live action adaptions you might as well support cancer

This is kind of capeshit

The live action version is totally different from the original version, go watch the scenes one after the other, if you can't tell how vastly superior the cinematography, music, mechanical design, and pacing is in the original you're nothing but a braindead normie sack of shit and you need to off yourself as soon as possible.

Blur/Motion Blur/ Aperture keyframing/ Anything close to the camera in full CG rez actually takes the longest to render = the most time spent. Plus all that SSS and Displacement mapping is time consuming. So yea you don't know what you're talking about.

yea its not shot for shot at all.

more like ghost in the taco shell

no, it's literally capeshit

pretty goob

>music kicks into an upbeat remix

literally why. Its not like the things being shown are any more exciting

How much do you get paid bros? Dont tell me you do it for free

Stop rationalizing the whole movie through the trailer you'll want to kill yourself less. Wait till you're in the theater.

They are not trying to imitate the anime to make the movie "good", they are doing it so reviewers can talk about how "faithful to the source material" they are, so people will go watch it, they don't care if weebs don't like it, weebs are going to watch it anyway.

Same difference. Good in the eyes of fucktarded reviewers.

Speaking of upcoming animekino, is there any hope for Battle Angel?

And those are the people that matter, who cares if some fat weeb in his 30s doesn't like it? This chick with pink hair is going to vlog about how much she enjoyed it or this bald fuck with a podcast is going to give a positive review on his show, and this is going to entice people to go watch and that is what matters.

This Westworld opening can be better than that.
What a shame.

youtube.com/watch?v=elkHuRROPfk

Will this be snyder's watchmen but for animu?

These live action remakes of animated movies doesn't interest me. An obviously big element of why these classic animated films are so cherish is the art style and animation, and its integral to the tone of the film. It also dictates the pacing and flow of the narrative. Ghost in the Shell isn't just good for its script and storyboard but the overall presentation of that story.

These live action films look immensely dull in comparison and its really a kick in the face to the original source material when they think the stories would improve if they make it into live action.

KAITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I wonder if they'll still call her motoko kusanagi or if they'll make up a disgusting pigfat american name like they did for the live action DBZ

Maybe it will create a new context

>except for lighting

and colour
and composition
and the underlying philosophy
and the timing with the song
and the electric nodes and synaptic pulses
and the pacing
and the clarity
and the details
and the direction

its a fucking abortion, wont be watching this shit

Motoko wears a punk rock hairstyle what a hell are you talking about?

>needing her to have amnesia, to make the people who created her do it without her having a choice, and for her to rebel against her makers
>making her a super special full cyborg so you can do the "there were others before her" shit despite them being rare but not one-of-a-kind rare
Fucking why

this guy truly understood the animation thank fuck im not the only one, fuck the live action

because Wolverine and the "Marvel" crowd, they're already conditioned to that weak shit, someone like nolan would have taken the original movie made it and fucking turned it up another 10 on the philosophy and depth, but instead we get a wet behind the ears director who is too cuk to even demand proper cg for key scenes who apparently "knows" the fucking source material

>tfw never seen ghost in the shell except the start of the first movie which I turned off because I just had seen akira and the animation paled in comparison
What am I missing

Look at your fridge and apply 2 saggy bags of fat

oh fuck that actually makes sense, man fuck disney and marvel at this point seriously

HLY SHT

Man, even after all these years, that song is a fucking masterpiece. Too bad they did some weird chopping and editing towards the end, ruined that part.

it's almost a shot-for-shot scene:
youtube.com/watch?v=J6NyHPZTXAU
The only thing they added was the gelling of the endo-body.

While I agree, let me be the autist to point out that in the anime it's a barely noticeable "second skin" that is the therm-optic camouflage. Webm related.

Ghost on Taco Bell

hmm the live-action trailer seems to be mimicing the birth of a human person from a woman because of the darkness and fluid and then the light when motoko reaches her final destination.

I think the movie did the motif of being birthed better desu senpai

parallels birth stupid.

All this fuss about whitewashing and they go and literally recreate scenes and use that stupid song from the anime. This is suppose to be an adaptation not a remake.
