The only purpose and strategy of this referendum and/or any other future action of the separatists, like the declaration of independence, was to provoke and scenificate a confrontation with the Security Forces. The whole strategy revolved around pushing people to the streets,have them clash with the police and have le photo for the newspapers. They were literally craving for victims.

And that was going to happen sooner or later, so better now not ceding an inch in defense of Constitution than later after having given in and forfeit the duty of upholding the law for all.
