If you had to live in any English county which would it be and why?

If you had to live in any English county which would it be and why?
You're not allowed to pick London as it's not English.

Cornwall

Good choice, what's your reason?

surrey

Rutland

I live in dorset but I would like to live in gloucestershire

Cornwall
The best place in UK

Anywhere in the Southwest.

Live in West Yorkshire but would like to live in North Yorkshire

Why Gloucestershire?

because it's green and idyllic and closer to bristol where a lot of my friends live
plus I like cider and fine cheeses

nice beaches, alright weather

Live in West Yorkshire I'd live anywhere that isn't a metropolitan county or L*ncashire. Probably Sussex or Worcestershire

Essex

essex is known for having the trashiest girls in the country which is saying something

I have no idea, probably on the coast, redpill me on the different regions

If you want sun then Sussex is probably your best bet

Define "redpill", if you mean the wh*test regions then basically anywhere in the South West

North Yorks. is a good choice. Visited some small village there couple of months ago where my great grandma is buried. Super comfy place

Where in WY?

cornwall suffolk

i heard theres not much going on there

tell me something about Devon

Kirklees

sir francis drake came from there
weather is relatively good
lots of little seaside towns

Devon or Cumbria
Both because they are relatively sparsely populated and have beautiful nature
Probably Cumbria first if I really had to go, because close to Scotland

sounds comfy

Devon, because that's where """"cornish"""" pasties actually come from.

Pretty close to me then, I'm Bradford

as long as you like this sort of aesthetic then yes it is nice
this man knows his cornish myths

Cornwall is very pretty, nice and quiet too

None of them. I would dread living in England. I lived in Dorset for a year and have traveled around a bit. It's OK enough, but after the 2nd week it gets boring as hell.

What is going on here?

Why were you in Dorset?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Wight

Cumbria or Northumberland
Nothern England is comfy

It's roughly a year of visiting my fiancée's family. Never more than a couple months at a time.

Glos
Closer to Southern Wales.
Best place in the fucking country, love it there.

in poole/bournemouth or out in the country?

Woah, easy there, James Bond. I'm not about to spill all my spaghetti here.

i'm keeping an eye on you

Think you just did mate

Shropshire. It is a beautiful place.

t. guy from Shropshire

>assuming genders this hard

Are there high paying jobs outside London?
Do I have to commute to London every day to work?

"MUM, you seen any yanks aroun' town cen'uh?"
"Nooooooo."
"Well, olrite then."

Don't you worry, lads, I'll keep her nice and safe.

Which one has Camdentown? I pick the one with Camdentown.

Which ones are comfy countryside, the kind of you can see in tv shows like heartbeat?

no
yes if you want to keep some of the money you make

That would be London

Basically anywhere that isn't London

there was a student from the UCL here and he told me he had to commute 1,5h (one way) every day, lmao.

the country is very london-centric and I'm sure it must be annoying for people to have to do that every day because that's where most of the good jobs are
not me though, NEET master race

cornwall

I guess that's a pretty remote (by british standards I suppose) and peacful place.

Devon/Dorset >>>>> Cornwall

wtf I love spain now

This

Celtic

>Celtic
oh christ

>All these people saying Devon/Cornwall/out of the way places

Reminder that there's nothing to do and it's full of old people. Additional reminder that Essex is by far the best county for actually enjoying yourself

Kent. It is close to London in case you want to go there on weekends and has access to the channel. It's also the place with the warmest climate in the UK.

Aren't the young people in Essex either metrosexual lads or trashy women?

>Implying I like people my age
>Implying I like people at all
>Implying all I want isn't to spend my days strolling the British countryside

>nothing to do
wonder what you can do in the other regions

No, that's only a minority of people, just like the rest of the country. People are a little more "open" in Essex though. You should stop getting everything you know from TV, you knkw its not accurate. Unless the whole of Ireland is like father Ted?

t. chantelle

>metrosexual
Is that a bad thing to you?

t. Gavin Shipman

t. A...

Actually I don't know what to say because basically nowhere else in the country actually has its own culture unless you live in a big city, or Cornwall or Yorkshire

Somerset since that's where I'm from

so cornish people are black?!

Chesire, to watch cats float

I do find it a bit weird to be honest. Like we have them here too. They go to tanning beds, go to the gym for vanity purposes (as opposed to fitness/sport reasons), have black studs in their ears, wear clothing brands such as 11 Degrees, etc. among other things

Yes, Celts are not wh*Te

>All this love for the West Country

It truly is Best Country, I feel blessed to be born here.

los estados unidos de america because i'm a latino and i jump walls

Blackburn, Lancashire because of a Day in the Life

What’s in there? Apart from the holes

cultural enrichment and misery

hampshire

>Blackburn
very bad choice

Depending on which part of London is considered the best to live in I would pick the county which borders this side of London.
If that is not helpful, I will pick Herts to be more inland and not suffer from as much coastal rain and wind.

Cornwall because I watched Straw Dogs recently and it seemed comfy as fuck

Ari Abdul?

Well, it can be any part of Lancashire then

How long is a train ride from Cornwall into London?

Are there are any nice well-off areas (not necessarily in the SW but in general) with a high speed train or something for high-class commuters who can't bear to live among the plebs?

ages, the SW is a bit isolated in terms of infastructure
pretty much every county that surrounds london is full of people that commute in and stay away from the plebs

Huh.

How much time do you think it would take to get a good feel for Great Britain as a tourist? It's near the top of my list of places to get to now that I've seen a lot of the US (relatively, it's a huge-ass country)

...

This cunt knows what he's on about. South and south-west England is lovely and has the best coastline in the country, but the Lake District and Peak District is where it's at.

Lincolnshire... I was there and I loved it.

It is a good thing when nothing happens. I love this kind of towns.
I can watch all the habbenings from my place with internet without worries.
Old people are also nice. I don't interact with people a lot anyway.

What were you doing in Lincolnshire?

Dorset

Yorkshire because people talk funny there

I have been London Oxford Brighton Crawley

I guess Oxford

Brighton would but too much gay bars

Shropshire seems nice.

Oi

See my map hereI've lived in the UK for a year in the Southwest near Cornwall.

The worst I have to complain about is how congested popular attractions are in England; try to visit off-season. Malthus was right about overpopulation and mass tourism doesn't help. Even the Lake District was flooded with Chinese and Europeans when I went (you'll hear the most American accents in London, Manchester, and Bath).

If you can manage to go off peak season, here are some sights...

Cornwall: St. Michael's Mount
Somerset: Bath
Dorset: Dorchester
Hampshire: The New Forest and Winchester
Sussex: Brighton
Wiltshire: Stonehenge (bound to be crowded no matter when you go) and Salisbury Cathedral
Warwickshire: Stratford-upon-Avon
Cumbria: Lake District

I would have listed sites for London, Manchester, and Liverpool but you can figure your own shit out for that. I typically go to art museums and a few important sites in new places but I have no idea what your interests are.

The only places left on my list to see are Canterbury, Yorkshire (Durham and Leeds), Lincoln Cathedral, and maybe Newcastle. I've noticed there are some good museums in Birmingham, but people talk so poorly of the city that I'm not sure I'll ever go.

WHITE ROOOOOOOOOOOSE WHITE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE

Devon of course

Durham isn't in Yorkshire it's in county Durham

love u spain

Manchester because a friend of mine lives there.
I don't know much about England 2bh
Scotland seems nice tho

Neck yourself normalcunt.
I hope a Paki gives your whore of a missus a nice hydrochloric facial.

Would rather kms tbqhwyfamalam
