cool, now explain how he's wrong
what is that supposed to mean
serious question
This is a sitcom isn't it?
Where's the jokes fuckley?
Why are Finns so retarded?
>every national election forever is decided by two large coastal cities and everyone in 48 other states must obey their will
This is the plot of the fucking Hunger Games isn't it
>electoral college is bad when WE lose election
Blahblahblah, more news at 11.
you would he saying the exact same thing if Clinton won.
...
this show is fucking racist and extremely problematic
I don't think any national "comedy" would be saying the exact same thing
He's not. democracy is a flawed system that benefits mob rule.
The current system in Amarican election is tailored to benefit the most states
And if my aunt were a man she'd be my uncle
Wow yellow Dewey sure is smart
reminder that a lot of Clinton supporters were predicting she'd lose the popular vote but win the electoral college before election night and no one had a problem with that at that stage.
FUCK WHITE PEOPLE
FUCK DRUMPF
FUCK STRAIGHT WHITE MALES
>undemocratic
the USA isn't a democracy...
>yellow Dewey

Where are Huey and louie?
What's the matter Sup Forumscuck, triggered?
>I lost the game, therefore the rules of the game are wrong and must be changed.
The best part is there's no country in SE Asia that directly elects their leaders. Even the most "democratic" ones have a proportionally elected parliament and then the ministers chose the leaders amongst themselves
This seems to insulate any voter from ever having even the slightest say in the leadership doesn't it?
This is so fucking true. I wish I could have a portal to the other side where Clinton won just to compare what dumb Trump supporters and dumb Clinton supporters would be saying reversed.
Fuck dump and fuck why pepo
Anyone who thought that corrupt cunt Hillary Clinton was a good candidate deserves Donald Trump as their president.
Democrats need to stop fucking crying about Trump and starry fixing what's wrong with their own party.
They could start by fixing the mechanism that would cause an evil person like Hillary to rise to power in the first place
Shameful ignorance. The US isn't a democracy, it's a constitutional republic.
Reminder that the very people who literally invented the word 'democracy' considered it to be an evil political system
How did humanity get so stupid in 2500 years?
Liberalism and cultural Marxism
> bitch and moan every 4 years
> never change anything
> also, force the term slave owner in there to guilt people
>comparing unpopulated wasteland with thriving cities
that's how you get fooled by graphics. as i remember correctly hofer guy lost in absolute votes
The "winner takes it all"-system is the truly broken part of the system. People literally don't bother to vote is some states as they have no hope in trying to swing the state other way.
wow what a surprisingly woke show
kudos to calling out white deception and bullshit throughout history and even now
He's right and if it was Hillary who lost the popular vote and won the electoral college, Sup Forums would be crying non-stop.
Clinton's popular vote was due to a vote imbalance in coastal California, where her popular vote total outweighed Trump's by 4m. Excluding those urban CA counties, Trump actually beats her by a million votes or so.
So in this case, the EC worked as advertised—it contained a severe regional imbalance that didn't fairly represent the other 49 states.
On a raw level, it sounds unfair. But think through the implications. Without the EC, urban political preferences would dominate US politics. All you'd have to do is control the major population centers to have a majority. It would effectively invalidate the votes of hundreds of millions of people, and politicians would give even less of a shit about them as they currently do.
The kid's wrong because it just isn't that simple. If you're a town or city where everybody has basically the same lifestyle and lives in the same geographical area, a popular vote makes sense. But for a massive nation of 300 million people and vast regional differences, an adjustment is required. Is the EC the right move? Probably not—but let's not pretend popular vote is any better.
'democracy' is become the west's god/sacred cow that must never be questioned
>if you exclude the parts where he lost, Trump won
ok
>urban political preferences would dominate US politics
That already happens.
>effectively invalidate the votes of hundreds of millions of people
Already happens.
You're not as enlightened as you think you are.
To cleanse the system of corruption, a clean slate is required. Removing the money from politics, returning all political appointments to unpaid statusand removing every person currently holding elective office from their positions, from the bottom to the top.
This will never happen, but that's a solution.
I also like how it leads to
> a wins, enacts changes, which might take years or decades to affect
> some years later, b wins stops halfway finished changes because 'they obviously don't work'
> b enacts new changes
Reminds me of that dystopian city where one side is always being torn down while they're rebuilding it on the other side.
You can prove they're the same shit now just by taking a standard Sup Forums post and a standard tweet and just swapping the names/races around, but neither side actually care when you do it.
Socrates/Plato considered democracy to be very good, second only to an empire lead by a just man
The worst was an empire lead by a corrupt man

Muh popular vote is the US equivalent of muh 36% here in the UK.
It isn't an imbalance. You idiots swear california is a fucking hivemind.
There are so many trump voters here. I voted for him.
I don't even talk to my fucking neighbors. I'm not being influenced by anyone around me. You people are idiots.
The child makes an interesting point. However, as interesting as said-point is, it isn't NEARLY as interesting as this 2-minute video.

Uh oh... hear that music?
Do you people even know what a federal country is? It's hilarious that you call a system "undemocratic" because it allocates more power to individual states, i.e. smaller populations.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
People conflate "democratic" with "good" or "pure". "Undemocratic" isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Not sure if bait or just a retard at work. First off, we don't have written traces by Socrates himself, so when Plato has him in his dialogues you can't say it's Socrates own opinions and not just Plato putting word in his mouth. Also, Plato was very critical of democracy. Maybe actually read the book before posting your shit next time.
It's an incorrect statement.

Bunch of mouth breathing liberals.
I honestly dont underatand how so many have though "ohh well 51% of people thought of one thing so everyone else MUST adhere to that otherwise we inprision them" was a good idea
>inb4 oh but those evil individuals that will take power
Thats what guns are for
There's nothing wrong with this. By all means, get rid of the electoral college for future presidential elections.
>I'll personaly will write you a campaign check NAO!
Did he?
Why do nonwhites keep moving to countries full of white people when they hate white people so much
I don't go "blacks really piss me off, time to move to Africa"
As much as I don't like the electoral college, it does prevent elections constantly being controlled by states with higher populations. Basically every election would be decided by the coastal states since they tend to have more population that the central states making their votes essentially worthless. They also tend to vote Democrat more often which skews the idea of democracy even more when you have one party mostly winning all the time.
It's a cutoff number you're describing the worst case scenario.
The hope obviously was that through an intelligent discussion your opinions would align, so that a large majority would vote (begrudgingly) for one person.
But since there is next to no discussion and you never know what a politician is going to actually do.
It's more like voting to kick for your favorite big brother character to stay in the show.
So what? He's American.
Even if he ruins the world and bring us all death, I fucking love how all those smug bitches got what they deserved, I hate that sense of superiority these people have, it really infuriates me, that fucking entitlement.
Plato clearly wanted to rule Greece seeing how his image of Greece being perfect was it being ruled by philosopher a king because philosophers are like so cool and smart.
But she didnt so who cares
>Did a celebrity or member of the media do what he promised?
What do you think? take a wild guess
Yeah the level of homeostasis is jarring
It's almost impossible to get 55% of the vote for anyone, ever.
The Electoral College is representitive of the many diverse regions of the nation. Considering the United States is officially a Republic, and not a Democracy, electing Representitives is perfectly in line with the ideals upon which the nation was founded.
Plus, the Midwestern States produce the majority of America's food, and therefore deserve to have more stake in the Election than a bunch of jobless Liberals living in big cities that singlehandedly determine the outcome of the popular vote every single time.
The point is that most democracys virtue signal freedom but wont hesitate to harm those who want to live a life free of their laws which they themselves never agreed to
A current example would be how the average person doesnt see anyone who earns more than most as an individual but as a tool to fuel whatever their government is wasting money on. That is unless it is a celeb with a 'quirky' attitude so then they are people all of a sudden
He's either lying or woefully misinformed.
Yeah, keep pretending California isn't a liberal shithole full where 90% of the citizens (and illegals) voted Clinton.
>90% of the citizens (and illegals) voted Clinton.
>over 30% voted for trump
>30% of illegals voted for trump
it's made to benefit low populations
...
>90% of the citizens
People with Obamacare voted for Trump too. People vote against their interests on occasion.
They meant "if Clinton won the electoral college, but not the popular vote, we'd currently be praising the glorious electoral system that stops the ignorant masses from dominating the enlightened minority. Ching chong, ching chong. Accept our claims of oppression, even though east Asians are the most privileged group in America after the Jews."
>90% of citizens are illegals
WE are a republic made of 50 states joined to make one nation. 3 million illegals voting can fuck themselves.
I think it's more baffling how aggressive and violent liberals got proving their hypocrisy, they literally cannot accept the fact that they lost.
are you memeing me here?
he says 90% of citizens voted clinton
reminder that the USA is not a democracy but a republic.
>illegals are now citizens
>explain how he's wrong
The formation of the electoral college had nothing whatsoever to do with slavery, for one. Secondly, "undemocratic" isn't a bad thing. Democracies are inferior to republics, and the left itself only supports democracy when it works in their favor.
Say it with me UNITED StateS of America.
Didn't Hillary win the popular vote against Obama?
>i was only pretending to be retarded
>California
Of course.
What show is this?
>was only pretending to take the bait
>ohne briefwahl
Negerbitte.jpg
Electoral college is a complicated affair.
It was pushed by the North, which was afraid that Dixieland, with huge population(back then) would overpower them if they'd use popular vote, and then as a compromise, Southern politicians negotiated a deal where single black was counted as 3/5th of white man, which "boosted" their votes in the college, leading to equilibrium.
That nowadays New England and West Coast became super-butthurt after EC did the exact thing it was supposed to is another thing.
The electoral college isn't meant to be democratic. It was designed to incentivize smaller states into joining the union by giving them more power to self govern despite having lesser populations.
It's a compromise between larger population states and lower population states for the express purpose of preventing mob rule.
It's not a flawless system by any means. It is still foundationally a compromise between allowing the states themselves to elect the president, and allowing individuals to elect the president. The former certainly being preferable to this gerrymandering nonsense we have now but further suppresses the power of the individual, and the latter further empowering the majority at the cost of making smaller states irrelevent.

Du bist ein Vollidiot.
Wien ist eine 2 millionen-Stadt.
I still cant understand this bullshit, and liberals shouting how "RACISS" photo ID's are while rest of the world uses them.
>i was only pretending to imply that he was only pretending to take the bait
The DNC did everything it could to ensure she would beat Sanders...
But don't look at the actual information in the leaks, just get mad at Russia and continue to say 'fuck drumpf' ad nauseam!
In what 3rd world countries can you vote without a photo I.D lmao wtf
I actually don't have a problem with deporting "undocumented" immigrants. The wall is what's ridiculous, because it's going to be a massive waste of time, manpower, and resources to build for no return because they'll just dig under it or take a boat around it because the Coast Guard is getting downsized. It's impractical.
The wall will accomplish nothing.
>There are so many trump voters here.
>I don't even talk to my fucking neighbors.
>That's why I know there are so many trump voters here
>because I don't even talk to my neighbors.
The wall worked in other countries in stopping unwanted illegals crossing the border. Even Mexico has a wall stopping south americans from crossing borders into their country.
It'll pay itself back in no time.
I see you know how to memorize fancy sounding buzzwords. Kill yourself.
The difference is Mexico shoots anyone caught trying to cross the border illegally. We just send them back across to try again.
