How the fuck can people do heroin for literally decades and still not only be alive but reasonably functioning? I grew up under the impression that heroin will fuck you up completely in a matter of months but there are so many celebrities that do it for like 30 years among other vices. I mean obviously they are deteriorating but if artie were to get completely clean, fit, and healthy he could prob live as a normal person till like 80+. The human body is quite resilient

Yeah, I really hate podcasts in general. Most of them are just longform boring conversations. I prefer listening to old O&A shows with Colin Quinn than a 3 hour Joe Rogan podcast where they just rehash the same talking points on politics, DMT and MMA.

It's just so boring hearing only two people talk in an empty room about their personal lives all day. There's no soundboard, no staff to talk to, no cohosts that have good chemistry, no comedians coming in to be funny. All comedian podcasts is just them talking about comedy in a monotone voice. There's no dynamics between hosts/comedians because there doesn't have to be anymore.

Yeah it is understandable. Most people I know either listen to O&A or Stern, none of them listen to both. I am a young person so I admit I missed the Stern train by a couple years, so I just ended up an O&A guy.

Some of his stuff from the early 90s is cringey as hell, but at the time my 14 year old mind was blown.

His best years were easily the last 5 on terrestrial, and the first five on sirius.

I think another aspect (which helped kill the Stern show) is the move away from terrestrial radio.

In real life the only people who spend all day listening to talk shows are shut-ins and weirdos. The wack pack was an organic mix of fans and non-fans alike who were just broken enough that they'd call a morning radio show all the time.
