An European replies to me
h-hello?? ^_^
she has such an attractive tongue doesn't she?
>an
>a Southern European replies to me
you use 'an' instead of 'a' before vowels, no?
It's all based on the pronunciation of the word, not the actual letter the word starts with. In the case of "European", the sound it starts with isn't considered a vowel.
I give you Asia reply!
It's actually about the pronunciation not spelling
European is pronounced /ˌjʊɹəˈpi.ən/ (this is called IPA)
that j is a consonant in IPA
You also have to write "an honor" because honor is pronounced /ˈɑː.nɚ/
An or a depends on pronunciation.
European is pronounced Yuropean, so you use "a."
>when a kaisercuck posts
