Colombian spanish is great. The hardest part with Spanish for me is understanding real-world spoken Spanish. Chileans especially I have no fucking idea, but I can understand Colombians really well.

For my part i usually have trouble with some of the verbosity and vocabulary contained within high level Spanish texts, so i usually read the simpler English version of said texts if available.

if you want to learn for the aesthetics learn the spaniard way, if you want to visit every spanish speaking country and be just as equally inadequate wherever you go, pick ecuatoriano, if you plan on doing business, understand mainstream Spanish speaking media and you don't mind the shitty accent learn mexican.

My two cents
I don't see any real use to concerning yourself overall with accent if you're still learning, if you're an Anglo Canadian you'll have a noticeable gringo accent and that will be the dominant impression for any Spanish speakers, in order to git gud you'll have to immerse in some community of Spanish speakers and that will be what determines your accent. Roleplaying accents is just going to make you look foolish and pretentious.

Also I don't see the point for Colombian accent, clarity aside it also comes with bias, you'd be looked down on Spain and Mexico if you had a perfect Colombian accent and to one extent or another that aplies to all other accents. A neutral "broadcast" accent also varies, Spain's would be different from that of many Latin American regions, even in the US the Univision "accent" leans strongly towards Cuban/Puerto Rican.

Just learn whatever Spanish is more accesible to you and let your accent evolve without gimmicks. If you care so much about an accent you can work on that after you've got an accent in the first place, and you've at least got a clue what you actually want to do with it.

There's no universally accepted as "good sounding" standard, I'd lean towards neutral Spain but many Latin Americans will find it makes you sound stupid for instance.
