To put it in perspective, a typical store clerk makes 20-25k NOK a month after tax, While a miner makes about 50-70k NOK. Fishing depends on the haul, but a fisherman makes on average 60k NOK, and independent fishermen can go into 500k to a few millions NOK.

Not that I'm representative of the population, but my living costs goes for about 12k on months I bleed money on stupid shit, bills also included.
And I work with salmon raising which is probably the best paid uneducated profession in Norway these days, so I could splurge far more money and still save up more than half if I wanted.
