Is it common?

Is it common in your country to drive to IKEA just to eat?

I didn't even know Ikea served food.

Yes, what's your favorite food there?

For me, it's the meatballs and mashed potatoes. The best restaurant meal. I even ask for extra meatball sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.
One time I asked for meatball sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly Ikea worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".
Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local Ikea restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.
I even dip my bread in Ikea meatball sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

Oh yes, the meatballs are absolutely the best on their menu. I don't know if it's the meat or the sauce, or maybe both that makes the good taste. I'm gonna drive down there in 20 minutes with my family and eat. It is such a practical and social thing to do.

there's no ikeas nearby

i went to ikea just to try those swedish meatballs even tho in Elizabeth,Newark a total shithole and in the end those Swedish fucks told me that they don't have meatballs that day. Fuck ikea.

What? If i were you i would have written a letter to IKEA and complained. I'm sure they send you a pack of free meatballs. I used to do this to candy companies when i was a kid and got tons of free stuff.

Over here Ikea stores are usually located so as to have a patronage area covering several cities, ie in the boonies. I don't believe any french person would drive to a big box in bumfuck nowhere just to eat, since most people have options much closer to them. However since people tend to spend quite some time at Ikea's, it makes sense to me that people would eat there when shopping for furniture.

The price is decent, but I think it's pretty nasty over all.

>going out to eat ever
>not always home cooking
