I have 50k for buying a small farmstead property and I am looking into Norway.

Would 50k buy me anything decent within an hour drive from a bigger town or small city?

i think you should reevaluate your life if you consider living in some run down shack in the middle of nowhere

We all have different views on life, don't we?

how are you going to survive in a frozen land with agricolture?

My grandfather has a farm up north which i can basically have. It got a barn, some forest and a small field. It is only a postoffice and a small grocery in the town, so it is a very quiet life. Closest city is two hours away with car, and it is what you would call a town in Holland.

you're polly gonna hang yourself when the winter depression sets in. norway is pretty expensive, america or russia are much better choices if you wanna larp as some hermit

So how much would something like that cost? Or are you just going to make me jelly?

Working one or two days in the city while I build up my farm business.

this.
Unless you can afford the essentials for the next 50 years, you better have a plan.

Also the novelty of a solitary life in the middle of nowhere will be over in a few weeks/months at best. What will you do afterwards?

Fuck off we're full

Farming and raising my children. My girlfriend wants this lifestyle too.

I bet you would be more welcoming if my name was Muhammed.

>My girlfriend wants this lifestyle too.
oh, so you're on of *those* people.
I highly suggest you KYS and spare your children.

I don't know. I got the property and might pull down the house and build a log cabin. You could check out Denmark, theres farms there and closer to the communities.

finn.no/realestate/homes/ad.html?finnkode=109234962 This is kind of like the property i can have. They mainly lived of fishing there.

where can I find an autistic 3d gf like yours?

I'd prefer you over muhammed desu, but I don't want any foreigners in Norway, even if they're white

I respect that opinion. However, I am still planning on coming. The best I can do is promise you to intergrate perfectly.

this
autistic varg larpers get out

I hope you don't have any high cholesterol, blood pressure, heart disease, etc as living in rural area means you get fucked with fever healthcare access.

>living in a rural area in the US
>get heart attack
>nearby hospital don't have invasive heart lab
>have to go to a hospital 3 hours from there
>much less change of surviving

>50k
wew lad even here that would be pushing the limit for ground and a house let alone norway

Im sure there isnt the plethora of fast food joints that americans depend upon. Norway doesn't even have butter anymore.

that's a shack not a farmstead

I support you man. Sounds like a great idea
Fugg off city scum

I love scandinavian houses painted in red.
They look so good in that scenery.
You are trully blessed to live somewhere this beatiful

We're full, stay where you are

You could buy a homestead in, uh, France? It's warmer there.

I prefer not being blown up, thank you.

You're fucking with me right?

what about rural spian, you could actually do farming there

wew must be super fun being trapped inside a run down shack during 6 months of cold and darkness.

you will probably end up killing or eating each other, most llikely both

wew must be super fun being trapped inside a run down muslim country sliding into a civil war during 12 months of rape and terror

are you that guy who wanted to move to the Czech Republic for the same reasons?

what happened?

Holy shit, how the fuck do you remember me?

Like I said at the time, I still have to choose between the two. I think I'll end up going for Czech. In Czech you get a bit more property, a nicer climate, less socialism and a more red pilled society.

However, me being Nordic Germanic.. Norway would be easier to immigrate into.

It's a hard decision.

where did you look up prices and stuff for czech?

>Holy shit, how the fuck do you remember me?
I was the german guy, that posted like 20 times in your thread.

sreality.cz/en

Probably the best multi-language website for property in Czech.

Alright. I'm going to guess and say you weren't very supportive?

>Nordic Germanic
Is this really a big deal? Do you just mean that you will fit it more or be treated differently?

at that time you had 15k cash and the rest was a loan, I think

I could be fluent in Norwegian in a couple of months. Czech would take me years. There are also more culture differences.

I still do, but I decided to scale down my loan. I want to buy the property, work a couple of years to pay it off and then farm for the rest of my life.

I have so many reasons to tell you to kys yourself, I don't even know where to start.

the biggest reason probably being that you come from one of the most civilised countries in the world, and have a fetishisised view of how, simple, "primitive" life is like.

I have so many reasons to tell you to kys the main one being you're assuming about a person you know fuck all about.

You'd probably be better off in the US desu. Better climate better access to firearms and it's wayyy cheaper

Do you have some experience homesteading? Have you researched it thoroughly? I can tell from watching a few Nat Geo shows that it is constant and often grueling work.

yeah, but there is still the visa problem

I've lived in various countries helping on homesteads. Check out WWOOF if you're interested. I don't actually think it's that hard unless you fully want to go off grid. I just want to grow a large part of my own food and live a simple life close to nature.

I manage an organic bell pepper greenhouse in real life, so I know a lot about agriculture.

I think America is pretty much fucked, so no thanks.

It's a hassle but long term you'd be better off and could experience true self sufficient living, Czechia is small and has a spread out population

what does even grow in norway? it is far from perfect climate and soil wise

50k for that crap in the middle of nowhere.
damn europe is really expensive.

you sound deranged

no

Okay

Anything in a greenhouse, really. Other than that, potato's, onion's, lettuce.. just hardy veggies. In some regions apple trees and what not. Also, strawberries.. Norwegians love strawberries.

harsh

wew so basically avoid needing the hospital?

he's not going to be able to grow anything, he'll end living on welfare to not starve to death

why not try southern france? you can live pretty isolated if that's what you want and you can grow a wide array of crops and fruit.

You have watched too many Varg's videos, don't you?

>strawberries
>not cloudberries

go back to Krautchan.

>Nordic Germanic
The Dutch ain't Nordic

Not even once.

Part of the reason I am moving away from Holland is the political climate. I prefer moving to a country that is a bit more conservative. Honestly, I'll probably end up in Czech.

I know that. I didn't claim that.

Why would you want to live in a place like that?

Because I don't find hapiness in surrounding myself with cars, humans I don't care about and glass buildings. I don't need a new phone every year, don't care about telvision and don't give a fuck about the insane comfort we are used to.

I prefer a simpler life closer to nature surrounding about family and animals.

You can also try moving to the east of this country. You sound like some idiot from Amsterdam that decided he's a nature freak after seeing something on tv

>huge shack for living
>smoking chimney = functional stove
>few other shacks aroud to house sheep or whatever
>no obviousl damage on the shack
>some land
>actuall fence
>another shack just across the river clearly not total middle of nowhere

I would have to shell at least 70K for that kind of luxury here.

NORWAY HERE I COME!!!

>You sound like some idiot from Amsterdam that decided he's a nature freak after seeing something on tv

that's him

youtube.com/watch?v=acFuWzTZOG4

You should read before responding. I have said numerous things that don't line up with what you just said.

Hehe

Once again I think what you are looking for can be found much closer than Norway, unless it's wilderness and vast nature you care about the most.
Then again I doubt you have a clue what this country is like outside of the Randstad.

I don't live in Randstad. Also, fuck Randstad.

Also, I don't need vast nature but I definetly want to be able to hike for a couple of days without seeing other people. Can't do that in Veluwe.

Also, I'm not signing a contract for 200k for the next 20 years. Fuck off with you jewish scams.

Are you from Sup Forums?

/biz/ actually, never been able to endure the nazis on Sup Forums

>Into the Wild
>nederlandes versie

You're going to end up freezing to death. Those 50k properties are summer only. You cannot live in them during the Winter.

I do understand the sentiment of escape the hustle of modern life though.

Look at properties in Spain and Portugal. That's what other people are doing. Lots of properties in temperate climate were you can actually live all year round and survive of the land.

> what is a wood stove

You realise people are living in Alaska and Lapland etc., right?

Most of the people living in Lapland are natives. It's half true for Alaska as well, the other half are Americans that use like 4 times as much fuel as average Americans.

A shitty 40m2 apartment here is at least 100k :(

Sorry, you're literally too stupid to interact with. I won't bother you anymore.

100k pesos? that's like a cup of coffee in holland..

Cheers, way to take a loss

you are overestimating its heating power senpai, have you ever actually been in a cold environment?

>You're fucking with me right?
Nope
It seems comfy

I thought you didn't live in Holland

100k USD man...

Sounds fair. But if you don't have experience living in such harsh conditions, I would advise trying somewhere a little more forgiving than Norway,

why is that?
you have even more land

>a little more forgiving than Norway,
norway is not siberia, it should be just a few degrees colder than the netherlands on average.

God bless you, the Swiss seem to get it. I guess if you have all that comfort you realise life is all about the small things.

WHAT? Why would you pay that to live in Argentinia?

Fair enough, it's definetly a challenge.

DID YA SEE THE FLAG

It's a 150m2 house, a good stove will easily heat the house. And yes, I have been in Denmark for a while.

Well, the area I am looking at, Lillehammer, is a lot colder than Holland or Germany or even Denmark.

Are you going to be working from home?

Sure, I'll basically be small time farming. I plan on producing pork, vegtables, microgreens and honey.

If I end up going to Czech, which is likely, I'll also farm rabbits and chickens.

i dont know your plans so i will just ask a few random questions
do you plan to get the wood from the forest?
do you know how much of it do you need for a winter?
are other services like water, gas and electricity reliable? or you dont care?
do you think you have the necessary means to go to work everyday in a snowy harsh environment?
are you going alone?
have you ever passed a winter in a situation similar to the one you are aiming to go to?

Buenos Aires is dense as fuck... of corse it gets cheaper outside the city, but not that much.

rude

>lot colder

it's colder but nothing too dramatic

I have a small farm, some animals, do fur trapping in winter, and I still need to work 6 months of the year.
I'm not sure how you can make enough money.

i dont know your plans so i will just ask a few random questions
> sure
do you plan to get the wood from the forest?
> in norway, yes, in czech, ill only be using firewood for the comfyness in the winter
do you know how much of it do you need for a winter?
> in norway, nope
are other services like water, gas and electricity reliable? or you dont care?
> water is no issue in norway
> ill be relying on solar panels for electricity, im actually quite proficient in solar technology
> no gas
do you think you have the necessary means to go to work everyday in a snowy harsh environment?
> in the three month winter you generally dont go outside as much, but yes i think i do
are you going alone?
> no, with my gf
have you ever passed a winter in a situation similar to the one you are aiming to go to?
> in denmark, once, yes

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully I'll be better off.

He cannot. He'll end up collecting welfare cheques and doing random jobs like "metal recycling" to get by.

Fucking gypsy.

> projecting this much

>Hopefully I'll be better off.
How?
It's a lot of work too.
I don't think it will be the dream he wants it to be.

My main income will probably come from farming honey and pastured chickens. Also from microgreens and pastured rabbits.

In time I'll also put in place a 100m2 hoophouse for the production of organic bell peppers. This is actually my current job in Holland.

This is based on me living in Czech.

i think knowing how much wood you need, and how long you will need to farm it is an important point if you dont want to die, supposing this wont be your main job but you will have to do it during free time (or send gf do it, top alpha choice)
>im proficient in solar technology
in snow storm environment too? b plan if they break down or for some reason you are unable to repair them?
also, wishing you best luck, i would check how far is the nearest decent hospital, you never know what can happen to you in the woods
asking if gf is ready for such a lifestyle is superflous i guess, she would be somewhere else if she wasnt
can you 2 deal with the lack of anything else to do? if you have no internet nor people to meet you might kill each other, dunno

I know many people that do things like that, but not full time.
It's just a hobby for most people because they can't live off it.
If you go to a poor country because it is cheap to live, the prices of what you are trying to sell will be lower.
Prepare to work your ass off and be poor.
