How hard is it for a drifter like me with no formal education to just pack it up and land in europe somewhere? I'm tired of American society and I just want to get away for a few years.
Moving to Europe

If you're brown at all just say you're a refugee
There are only three possible ways.
Marriage/heritage passport/student visa
Good we need to recolonize mongrel Europe with white Americans.
How do i get a heritage passport?
By having an Italian/Irish grandparent/Parents of any EU nationality/Being a descendant from Spanish Jews that were expelled/Being a descendant from German Jew that were expelled/Being a descendant from Latvians that fled Latvia during the Soviet period/being a descendant from Spaniards that fled the civil war
fucking hell.
What if I get a tourist visa or w/e its called and just not go back? I mean we've seen how they treat undesirables from other countries. Especially in germany and sweden. This is bull shit
EU countries have lots of work and travel agreements with other first world countries for example but this things are based on reciprocity and it's your congress who is all anal about this immigration stuff.
So where should I start if im going to try and get a heritage visa? The genealogy of my family? I know the grand parents of my mom through her dad where immigrants from germany, but I don't know why. And on my dads side a few generations back on both sides of his family were german immigrants/ and swiss immigrants. I still have distant family in Switzerland that I don't talk to.
>I still have distant family in Switzerland that I don't talk to.
probably the only somewhat possible route but unlikely
maybe you could become an english teacher in russia or something
lol so I have to get a bachelors degree here in the states and learn russian before I even have a chance? ffs. I already speak somewhat good german, maybe I could develope that further?
That's too far away. Grandparents are already a big cut-off point and only in extraordinary circumstances states allow the acquisition of citizenship like trying to right a historic wrong when there was persecution of some form.
Honestly just apply as as student. You can apply to study language long term maybe like 2 years or something. I think it's almost free if you do it in a public uni. I recommend Southern Europe.
So your saying id be going over there to do schooling? I don't have to start here in the states first?
No you don't. If you want a bachelor's degree all you need is a high school diploma. If you didn't graduate high school you should be able to apply as a language student.
Be aware though, that a normal American high school degree is not considered to be on par with what many European states consider their secondary education degrees that allow native to go to university there. For example Germany requires you to have passed a certain combination of courses, including foreign language lessons and precalculus IIRC.
If you are really tired of American society, why not find a part of America that is socially and culturally isolated enough that it is different for you? You could move to the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, or somewhere like that
grass really isn't any greener here and european societies are americanized anyways
Don't certain countries also require a proof of financial support? For example for Scandinavia you don't pay tuition but you need to provide for example a bank statement that you can support yourself during the whole time of the study programme which for an average degree would make 4 years. Sweden for example demands something like 700-800 euros a month. Multiply that by 40 and you have to provide 30,000 euros.
yeah i realize that, but there are still many cultural differences, just from one state to another here in the us. I want to go to europe just because. I wan't to be fluent in another language and experience the world in a different way - somewhere else.
so I would have to prove to them that I have 30,000 euro's/USD in the bank?
I appreciate senpai. I just don't know how thats going to work for me. I barely get by as a chef here. I have no savings, and legal trouble that has to be dealt with (no felonies) I just don't see how im going to do it, unless some german girl falls in love with me and we get married LOL
Be a potato nigger or pasta nigger or multi-lingual American embassy worker
Yea dude, idk about that. The federal government doesn't like to hire people with no education and a criminal record.
Each country has separate requirements. So whereas here you won't be paying for the tuition but have to present proof of financial support, it might be the opposite in let's say Poland. While there you won't have to present any proof you'll probably need to pay a tuition in advance for foreigners which is typically quite expensive.
So basically to study abroad you better be rich or acquire a scholarship. People lacking both, are fucked.
I guess I'll look into scholarships. Are these scholarships going to be through my country or the country I want to go to?
I really wouldn't know about that.
Youll just be homeless.
