Where is hunting culture strongest in Europe?

I was told that in the UK hunting is generally an upper class thing, is this true?

Does Sup Forums hunt?

I hunt your mom

Hahahhaaha totally rekt, how will lardbois ever recover?

pretty much, yea

here in the 50:s and early 60:s if you didnt hunt, you didnt eat, atleast that was the thing for the poor rural people

whenever you see the map with "firearms by country" all our guns come from hunterclubs. They even make weekly marches in most cities

here some hunting clubs just make some venison soup for the local homeless shelters or schools couple of times per season

Yes, Fox hunting was a thing among aristocrats but it was recently made illegal.

Do you think it is because less people are interested or that it is more easily accessible to the upper class?

I am glad that I don't have to subsist through hunting. I mainly hunt squirrels and rabbits, sometimes grouse.

>They even make weekly marches in most cities
For what purpose?

Lots of venison is donated here too. Hunters may each take 6 deer in my state, far too much for a family to eat.

I follow a hunter from the UK on YT and he hunts fox regularly for farmers so that may be legal.

because it's cool af.

Also have to use that left over sense of pride for something else than nationalism

Oh, it seems to still be legal in Northern Ireland.

>Act does not cover the use of dogs in the process of flushing out an unidentified wild mammal

...

I don't, but I'd like to, it seems enjoyable. It's my impression that it is a fairly common thing in rural Norway.

To hunt is to waste many money and many fucking time for a dubious enjoyment of killing animal. Also, wild meat is almost unconsummable.

I used to hunt before I moved into the city.
I was so used to having game meat to cook with it took a while to live without it.
Of course, I do get some from relatives. They made fun of me for eating wood pigeon, but I've got it honed to restaurant quality so who's laughing now?

I would say it's the most common in nordic countries. I used to hunt when i was younger. Pretty much everyone did at that time. Things have changed, but i think hunting is still really popular in country side.

I disagree with every part of that.
Wild meat takes some different techniques to prepare well, but it's healthy and delicious.

We don't really have any forests to justify hunting

Thanks for your valuable insight into rural Norwegian culture, faggot. I would encourage you to kill yourself.

u jelly?

A little bit considering how fast your response was

>squirrels
Are squirrels edible?

quite a lot where I live (Britany)
hunters are generally overweight low-brow farmers who get together to get drunk and blast rabbits and little birds with big game ammo, it's fucking retarded

I used to be pretty big on traps as a kid, not out of necessity, but reading the stories of the american west and life on the frontier, Jack London and similar shit, I wanted to be a trapper

Caught ducks, rabbits, hares, grouses, ragondins (kind of a local smaller beaver)
my mother freaked out each time we came back all proud with my friends. my dad got it, played along, emptied and gutted the stuff so we'd eat it. best feeling ever, eating it feeling like you're feeding your family of the land. good times

My dad took me hunting as a little kid when we were in the country, but it's almost all gone now. The deer are gone, the wolves are gone, the boar is gone, most you'll ever find is maybe some hares and we once found a badger.

Only an asshole would ever kill a badger, they're so badass they don't deserve to die from a gunshot. If you wanna kill a badger, kill it with your fucking hands

Certainly. Although you need a few to make a meal. Older folk will eat the brains too but it isn't safe now.
