flaming 'mo

I don't get it

Flaming homosexuals.

"lol it sounds like flaming homos but is not actually gay at all" seems to be pretty much it

apparently there was gonna be a scene in the episode with some gay dudes or something to hammer the point in but that was cut out. or so I heard, I haven't actually watched the commentary/deleted scenes.

This

Chuck's Feed n Seed

I got it at first, then I didn't get it, but now I think I get it again.

It's doubly good because it was originally a Flaming Homer.
I was told I was reading too much into it when I first realised.

wat

I think you are reading too much into it. Unless someone has a link confirming the scene gives, it just seems like too much of a stretch.

It would be a lazy joke that doesn't make any sense with the episode's story or content. Unless we have some creator confirmation, this is just over-active fan imagination.

Looks like the other user was right. From Wikipedia:

>There was originally a joke in the episode in which a gay couple walked into "Flaming Moe's", assuming that it was a gay bar because of the name.[4] Matt Groening feels that it was a good thing the joke was cut because he did not feel the writers should bring attention to the name.[6]

Both cites go to the DVD commentary for the episode. Haven't watched it myself to corroborate, but I assume being on Wikipedia and Simpsons fans being what they are, if it were untrue someone would have caught that.

It's a scene draw by an actual autist. It doesn't have to make sense.

they are running away from a meteor
obviously, modern beings run away from meteors
the joke is that during the stone age, dinosaurs were so stupid that they didn't know to run away from meteors and thus the dinosaurs went extinct

>stone age
>The earliest global date for the beginning of the Stone Age is 2.5 million years ago in Africa, and the earliest end date is about 3300 BCE, which is the beginning of Bronze Age in the Near East.
>Sixty-five million years ago the last of the non-avian dinosaurs went extinct. So too did the giant mosasaurs and plesiosaurs in the seas and the pterosaurs in the skies

>Flaming Homer
Goddamnit. How the fuck did I not catch that when I caught Flaming Moe?

BTFO after

This is actual an interesting interpretation that could work in context...

Only that Chris specifically said that it means that cave people were so stupid you had to tell them things twice.

Sometimes you can be so autistic that you become a comedic genius.
