It's just putting a different number on the same, relative thing. When you think "wow it's 100° it's pretty hot", it's the same as when we think "wow it's 37°, it's pretty hot".
It's not better, as a centimetre or an inch isn't inherently more precise or "better suited" to daily use.
The one people are used to is the best one for daily use. Same with decimal vs duodecimal system.
