I would say its shit and irrelevant after timeskip. I mean, they just introduce all attacks and stuff in one arc (that merman arc was okay, but after bleugh. i mean, they even had the longest arena arc, that every shounen imaginable has). I used to like one piece a lot as a teenager

I disagree. OP is a Shonen and as a shonen it is great. It keeps delivering new characters and continue to expand on the lore one bit at a time which make it more intertaining and makes you to want to know what is there in the end.
