I 100% guarantee that BART is worse than anyone else's metro here, with the sole exception of indian posters

I like them both :3
first of all it's extremely expensive. It costs about the same as a taxi for me to get around the bay area. For example, I live in the east bay, and both an Lyft and the BART will cost about $14, lyft may even be cheaper.
And for getting to san francisco, BART is ridiculously expensive, like $8 both ways or something.
BART is often the most expensive option for me to get around actually, prices to OAK from Berkeley will be like
BART - $14
Lyft - $12
Bus - $5 max, or free
and price aside, BART is just disgusting. I don't know how they afford it, but it's always filled with homeless and alcoholics who literally piss onto the seats. It's a dirty, shitty, slow public transit option which pales in comparison to taxis or bus service
bus service in the bay area is actually really good though
clean, modern, cheap, better than bart in every way honestly
some of the rural commuter trains
Is it easy to blackride the subways there? Are there inspectors on trains/ticket barriers etc?
I always found weird how bus and train tariffs here are cheaper than other cunts. All the tariffs for bus, train and metro are the same in São paulo, which is 3,80 BRL (1,15 USD)
>be new yorker used to good transit infrastructure
>come to bay area
BART more like BARF desu
why the fuck is it so noisy when it's under the bay
is this the one that only went 1km to nowhere?
it's the same pricing for bus, tram and train in melbourne too. I can't remember if the old system was different because I only used the bus as a kid
feels good to pay 10usd/month for all of this
plus they are buses, boats, trains not visualized on this map
the banshee wail? that's because the wheels are solid axle
it would be like driving a car without a differential
...
You're actually high off your own farts. I live in Berkeley, bart costs 4 bucks to get to SF, and like 6 to get to OAK. I'm going to SFO in a few days, so we'll see how much that is, but I've never come close to 8 bucks for single trip.
>feels good to pay 10usd/month for all of this
That must be like 20% of your income though
lol fuck, you've got to be a concession/low income earner right?
Still, for me it's expensive as fuck, 50 BRL it's only enough for a week and a half. I remember when it was only 1,50 BRL.
I did my own research, he's a student/child
here it caps out at $8AUD per day, and something like $40AUD for a week pass. Half those if you're a student or low income earner/pensioner.
student price
its 20usd for adults
nah, i have good part time job at university
average wage in prague is 2k usd/month so even 20 bucks for monht is still cheap
you can watch live stram from tramway here
>I live in Berkeley
meet me right now fartboy
but seriously though
I went to OAK around a month ago
have you gone to OAK recently on BART?
they made a (relatively) new line which goes directly into the airport, pic related, very nice
riding this alone costs $4, just for the last stop, which increases the price greatly
but yeah I meant $8 roundtrip for SF sorry
going to oakland airport will cost you more than going to SF
Mine is student as well.
This gigantic waste of tax dollars will take you from Orlando airport to Miami in 3 hours
Or you could just fly directly to Miami, which probably costs less than a ticket to Orlando
This hunk of shit will take you from downtown Orlando to beautiful downtown DeBary, where the meth is cheaper
That is assuming Florida Man(TM) doesn't interrupt your journey: dayssincesunrailaccident.com
you better not be implying that your transit system is worse than bart user
>transit system
I'm not sure two trains, that service destinations nobody needs to go to, counts as a transit system. Our commuter train doesn't even go to the airport or tourist area because the taxi mafia is too strong
The older trains for regular commuter.
>Shot by cops
>Run over by public transport
Just how did you manage rockets and nukes but horrific public sector?
The ETS train that goes up to 155km/hr is the fastest around while the planned bullet train connecting to Singapore is supposed to be 300km/hr.
>but horrific public sector
Florida is the worlds largest failure of urban planning and literally "le 23% face"
T-that's a lot of accidents.

Better pay tribute when you sit in the Malacca strait and play an important part in china silk road. We already paid Xi since 1/3 of the navy fleet will use chinese ships as replacement for decommissioned ones instead of British ships.

>60million dollars for a gun only corvette and there will be 18 of them when our shipyard can build licensed german design for cheaper.
Such is the price of riding the dragon.
There's 3 types of trains, two older and a newer type. The ones pictured are the older models.

Did you know that Baltimore has three types of rail?
This is our subway. It's only one line because when they were building it in the 80s suburbs threw a hissy fit and got the parts they wanted to build first cancelled and by the time they did the work needed to build the other lines funding ran out. It still serves 45,000 people a day though so it wasn't all for nothing.
These are the new cars we're getting. Interestingly enough our first cars were built alongside Miami's to save costs, and now, while the designs are different the new ones are also being built alongside Miami's.
This is our light rail which at the moment is also only one line with two branches. It's twice as long and only carries half as many people as the subway, mainly because they built it super cheaply by running it on an old freight line which is far away from where people live. It still has some purpose though. We're not getting new cars but they old ones are being overhauled since they're 20 years old.
lol
shut down
This is the commuter train, which has the distinction of being the fastest commuter train in North America, getting as fast as 200 kmh. It's the commuter train for both Baltimore and DC.
