War machine

breety gud

Go away brad.

was wondering if that came out today
is it a movie or a miniseries?

2 hr movie

>trailer makes it look like comedy
>wikipedia article says its satire
Not satirical and only funny thing is the way Brad runs.

Also shortest wikipedia plot summary of all time.

The tone was all over the place. I didn't understand the need for the action sequence. They could have gotten to the "muh heroic restraint" part a lot more quickly.

yeah the action sequence was out of place. it was cool though. just like tilda swinton doing her acting, totally out of place, but cool. the whole movie feels a bit surreal.

yes

dumb plebeshit for dumb americans: the movie

They made him seem like this cartoon character at first. I was on board with this because Brad Pitt can be pretty funny. But they never did much with it. The scene where he's doing the tour is pretty funny, where he's just standing there taking it in when the guy tells him they grow opium. But then he gets kind of dramatic for parts, but still doesn't show much emotion. He's just this flat character for most of it. There was a story about him, a story about America's involvement in Afghanistan, and a story about the Rolling Stone article. It felt like they tried to do too much.

I crave attention: the post

yeah it really isnt a satire. seems weird to me they're calling it one. maybe it's too recent to have a serious film about it? are they covering their asses against backlash? didnt quite make sense to me

in the beginning it almost felt like they're trying to give it a wes anderson vibe with the narration and slightly caricatured characters. the movie tries to balance its exaggerated almost goofy main characters and the more serious gritty boots on the ground characters and scenes but it's all a bit shaky. which i guess mirrors the clusterfuck of hierarchies, confusion about mission goals and PR nightmares it is documenting but it doesnt quite feel intentional it's all a bit awkwardly patched together and inconsistent.

it was still worth a watch imo just for the novelty of the subject matter. pitt is okay swinton was good ... i thought the black ptsd soldier played quite well no idea who that was. also chuckled when russel crowe just has a random cameo in the last scene
was it a foightin all over the world reference i dont understand

i thought the scene with swinton was cool, too, her german accent was pretty convincing, but i dont quite understand what the point of not just getting a german actress was other than face recognition for that one scene

maybe i'm overthinking it

it's not great but how is it plebshit? plebshit to me would be all around awful cashcow movies like minions or that movie where rihanna is on a battleship

this felt like there was some talent but it was underfunded and rushed or something

can we pls not turn this thread into a le epic amerifat vs yuropoor shitflinging contest

t. harmony loving eurofag

i was pretty underwhelmed by pitt desu, and i usually really like pitt. idk what it was. it's like they specifically told him to play the guy as 2dimensional as possible. the eye thing felt a bit hamfisted as well

is this patton for nu-males?

pitt reminded me of karl from sling blade with his retard walk and that weird grimace he made during the whole film.

bump

Nah

i agree with what this guy said

What's with Netflix and Iraq war movies all of a sudden?

yeah the grimacey eye thing didnt make any sense, mcchrystal just had a normal expression all the time. also pitt is just too handsome and charming to capture such a lanky, awkward person.

they spent a bunch of money and time on beasts of no nation, now they have a bunch of props and experience for war movies

Your movie was terrible, Netflix. Hope Okja is better.

.>Snowpiercer with a hippo
>good
lol

I would be ok with The Host with a hippo desu

Bong Joon Ho hasnt made a good movie since memories of murder :(

I thought this movie was about that one guy I forgot his name. Some dude name Mike that was in CIA /k/ posts his portrait frequently.
