That new King Arthur movie is pretty fucking manly. One of its biggest story elements is that Arthur was going to be a "king" in some way regardless of where the circumstances of his life landed him. It also makes a pretty solid point about what it means to be a man and a king.

Numale manly.

>My beads!
How have I not seen this manliest of kinos?! Fucking epic.

I'm an oldfag. Ritchie's King Arthur is like some kind of throwback to 80s fantasy/action with a heaping helping of Ritchie's signature give-no-fucks thrown into the mix.

I am so eternally hype for this.

11 trained Samurai, a newbie kid who just freaked out about killing someone a few days ago, and a random vagrant MASSACRE 200 trained Samurai

That movie was fucking retarded.

erm - capeshit ain't manly, user...

It can be in the right hands.

Thanks, kid!
Ever hear of the Foreign Legion? Ever hear of the Battle of Camaron? Look it up, and learn about real manliness. Then tell us what 'retarded' is.

That ain't capeshit and Rise of an Empire was better and manlier...

The Bridge on the River Kwai

If we're talking about real manly then Lawrence of Arabia is probably one of the manliest movies ever made because it not only has no women but also because it explores actual themes related to platonic love between men based on honor and respect

If we're talking about the numale definition of manly where men just beat up and kill countless goons to save some roastie slut then Taken I guess

almost as homoerotic as top gun

>dual wielding katanas
now that's edgy

Apocalypse Now

my nigga

Got turned on, didja? That's nice. You seem to be confused - perhaps you might want to refer to this >If we're talking about real manly then Lawrence of Arabia is probably one of the manliest movies ever made because it not only has no women but also because it explores actual themes related to platonic love between men based on honor and respect

I read your god-damned book!!!

George C. Scott is fucking GOAT.

This is beyond dispute - american christmas carol, the changeling, strangelove, exorcist 3 - he elevated them all.

Being a comic adaptation doesn't make it capeshit when it wasn't a cape comic.

Predator 1 has been mathematically proven to be the manliest movie ever made.

me too brah, it's gonna whip sack

>fedoracore - the thread

If by manly, you mean macho, probably.

From what I can remember, Man Who Would Be King was pretty damn manly.

thin red line

woa - based patrician user.

>he thinks 300 is a good example of any of these things
It's so on the nose and hamfisted that you'd think a 14 year old made it. It's a shit movie regardless of the values it espouses.

You are retarded.

thats the plebest opinion in this thread

Zulu is also up there

Let's show these kids real men....

Its such a shame they dont make movies like that anymore

sigh
Yes, they tend to make mindless action movies now; portray men as mindless aggressive thugs instead of fully-rounded human beings. Although these anons have pointed out a couple recent movies where men are shown in a better light. (Perhaps the sequel more than the original, but even the first one touched on manly feelings other than aggression.)

it was a different time

3 samurais that spend their entire life on the battlefield, a mercenary that probably did likewise, a brigand that is heavily implied to be a small demon and a bunch of samurais that spent their entire lives heavily training under the veterans versus 200 guys that never saw battle, were vastly untrained and were hired as guards for show. The 13 also deployed extensive traps beforehand and managed to trim the enemy force with arrows before going into melee.

I'm not saying that it would be a guaranteed win for them in a real life scenario. But the movie did set up numerous factors that would favours the protag in a way that their win wouldn't be far fetched.

Pic related by the same director. About a bunch of delinquents violently beating the shit out of each others for bragging rights.
The original manga is also pretty good desu
