Is it true people didn't start really hating the SW prequels until the Plinkett videos?
Star Wars Prequels and RLM
No.
No, also don't get your opinions from Metalheads. metal is literally the lowest form of "Music" in the world
I find it quite odd that this man takes himself seriously. What I find even stranger is that others also take him seriously.
No there was backlash when the movies first came out.
t. indie rock shitter
jar jar was the key to all this.
people made fun of it from the beginning. from the chinks in space, speed racing, annie, jar jar, progressively worse fighting without ray park.
there was the duel of the fates and then there was everything else
anything's better than metal. metal is objectively for 12 year old homos
lol no, that's what millenniasl tell themselves because of their nostalgia for shitty movies they saw as kids
reply
Yeah, anything that isn't Wagner is degenerate.
(you)
It's not a "muh degenurasy" thing, it's a "Metal is the musical form of that weird guy in class who wears leather and talks to you about knives and weapons constantly"
Yeah, not like Wagner. Wagner is good music. For people who aren't degenerate.
I do not understand where je got this opinion from.
People always didn't like them, and it's not like RLM has a wide enough audience to convince the general public that they're bad.
This guy is such an idiot.
You treat music like a fashion accessory, and then judge others because you think that's what everyone does. The very definition of a pleb. Maybe consider that some people listen to music to be moved emotionally, and physically.
yes
No, this was made shortly after the film released back in 1999:

They were universally hated a few months after AOTC proved that Lucas forgot how to make a Star Wars movie. So the answer is no.
No. The first two prequels were universally hated by critics and people begun to sing songs about Lucas raping their childhood.
I liked the prequels, and still do.
This article from 1999 is about Matt Stone and Trey Parker's view on it, note the line
"everyone's favourite punching bag" in reference to Jar Jar:
ew.com
Why the fuck are you even bringing Wagner into this? It's like if I was talking about perterbator and you started discussing Joan Baez
Naw man, I'm just pointing out how great your taste is. You know, appreciating Wagner over metal. Because metal is total degeneracy, whereas Wagner is quality music.
No, Simpsons and South Park were both attacking it back in the day.
I like both faggot. What now?
No, just no...
When they released, ghere was tons of hate.
On a side note, threads like this seem to pop up a lot lately. Kids assuming there was no internet before facebook, and or thinking that some e-celeb changed anything..
I don't like Wagner either nigger. Again, why bring up Wagner?
>I don't like Wagner
Wow, how disappointing. I suppose we can't all have good taste.
>I don't like Wagner
That explains a lot.
Being a hipster faggot is much worse.
Like a million people tops have even seen the plinkett reviews
The prequels needed no help to have people think they were ass
There was a like 2 week period after TPM came out where people were in denial and then after that everyone acknowledged it was shit. Basically the same for AotC.
hahah Woody Guthrie is a degenerate marxist. do you listen to NPR too and get your intelligentsia approved media?
I was still a kid when the prequels started and even I remember no one liking this garbage.
Also never listen to a twat in Bathory t shirt.
The only band that is more entry level black metal than them is Burzum which I'm sure this wanker also loves. So disregard everything he says because he is definitely a basic pleb lord that wears sunglasses indoors that doesn't even listen to good black metal.
>I want to be a rock star but have no talent or even stage presence so I'll just make youtube videos of me complaining about dumb shit
Roger Ebert had to preface his review of Ep 1 with something like "If this had been released in the 70s, everyone would be amazed at how revolutionary it all looked"
The first prequel episode kept the huge world of course, but already there were no characters. And in Episode 2 there was no plot. By Episode 3, you only had a few set pieces that fall flat if you've watched any of the preceding material.
Entry level != bad. Hammerheart has never been topped by any of the pretenders yet.
Razorfist is just a character, an act the guy puts on. He has at least one video where he goes out of character for whatever reason.
I remember people going on an on about how great the CGI is when TPM came out.
But I always hated the look. Everything looked too unnaturally clean.
It almost achieves Art Deco, but gets stuck in some sort of valley.
No. They were regarded as bad before RLM
Nah you're misremembering, Mandela effect y'know? People fucking loved the prequels, it was only when the real stinker - Revenge - came out that the audience turned sour.
>real stinker
>Revenge of the Sith
>objectively the best movie in the series
>real stinker
>XD LISA IS SUCH A NERD US GAMER GIRLS RITE
I fucking hate nusimpsons so much
...
>haha the politics in TPM were dumb and boring
>omg why is there a civil war in the republic in the sequel!?
No but those videos turned it into a meme and are full of nitpicky bullshit.
Nope.
It was disliked when it was released, too -- not by everyone, but there was still a dislike.
Yes, people hated the prequels. This is why Disney wisely cast a female/black male lead so the backlash would be muted as people fear being labeled sexist/racist.
But metal is absolutely full of hipsters it's one of their favorite genres what the fuck are you on about??
Metal is almost the de facto hipster genre other than maybe mumblecore and rapping like migos.
Hip hop fan detected. I'm not a fan of metal but it's better than this trash.
If anything, the Plinkett review awakened the most fanatical fanboys into defending these movies. TPM was mostly forgotten.
I dont think I hated them but I didn't understand them and kinda forgot about them
The truth is the that despite the prequels being garbage films when it comes to script work and some questionable CGI, they were more original and had far more time spent on them in production that TFA and Rogue One, and it shows.
The prequels beat NuStar Wars in unique space ships and situations. TFA reads like fanfiction A New Hope and Rogue One is a 12 year old attempting to write Apocalypse Now.
Retarded metal overrules anything else, you're just trying to fit in despite the metal.
No you fucking dummy. I watched the phantom menace opening weekend. I had waited 16 years for a new star wars movie. I walked out realizing it was more howard the duck than star wars. Star wars was good despite george lucas, not because of him. He was allowed free reign, and it showed.
It wasn't a total surprise given his OT additions. They were pretty horrible, too.
RLM did a good and weird job of capturing fan reactions to the whole mess.
Naw, metal is fucking garbage. One glance at the list of sub genres and you can tell it's pretentious as all fuck. The level of autistic rage that comes from metalheads when you get a sub genre wrong is literal proof to avoid that shit.
"SW movies are for children but they don't want to admit it. There's a small group of fans that do not like comic sidekicks. They want the films to be tough like The Terminator and they get very upset and opinionated about anything that has anything to do with being childlike."
>He was allowed free reign
More like forced upon him, but whatever.
Yes, there were plenty of fan sites like Ain't it cool and counting down where people discussed the new SW movies on the message boards. There were also countless discussion threads on usenet, before usenet went to shit.
George Lucas reined in by his team has more interesting ideas in the tip of his penis than Disney does as a studio.
>Fan reactions to the whole mess
Fan reactions to TFA and Rogue One are about the same as they were for phantom menace "This was trash.
Yeah, and it was still pretty popular around places like that despite how shitty it was.
TFA and Rogue One are reboots comparatively.
I just love children movies with dismemberment, genocide, and child slaughter.
>implying all metal is worse than post-grunge, crunk, crunkcore, trap, gangsta rap, country pop, dubstep, third wave ska, pop punk, Christian rock, k-pop, nightcore and seapunk
101 Dalmatians had a villain who was going to skin a hundred dogs.
The Lion King has a fucking herd of wildebeest trampling Mufasa.
Hansel & Gretel is about a witch feeding two kids so she can eat them and the kids burn the witch in an oven.
Children's stories are generally filled with fucked up shit.
>rlm
Does razorcuck actually believe this?
Very cool.
>Review Screw
>Nolan
>someone took the time make this
>things that make you cringe
pick two
Well to be fair Villeneuve really is a poor man's Nolan. That tells you how much of a hack Villeneuve is.
I will never have respect for the likes of collider who provide lukewarm content which banks on the ghost of nostalgia and corporate interests.
To me, they represent the apathy and trivialisation of mankind into corporate sows.
I feel the same way about rlm too.
Everything he said is true though.
>meanwhile the comment section of every RLM post is filled with brain dead manchildren regurgitating catch phrases
VERY cucked.
How can you write three paragprahs without saying anything of substance? He clearly hates Villeneuve but he didn't give a single actual reason or specific critique.
No. Every non-retard realized that Phantom Menace was shit a few minutes into it. I was 16 and I knew it was shit as soon as Obi Wan and Qui Gon's dialogue started in the first scene.
T. Arcade Fire-fag
Same age for me user, deep down in my subconscious I realised this is going to be shit, but I was high on the Star Wars crack cocaine. I really wanted to like it.
He didn't make a single real point, he spewed insults and made nonsensical comparisons. Shitposting has rotted your brain.
People at the time gave tpm a pass because they Thot it was just setting up episode 2 , ep 2 happened and it was even worse.

I remember forcing myself to start liking jar jar binks, then I started to come down from the Star Wars crack cocaine hype machine.
>I was a massive pleb back then.
