Inception was not the best film of 2010
But We need to talk about Kevin was.
>"Hi Worcester and Jeeves, after finishing an inexplicably long day last Friday and barely overcoming the so-called 'thrills' of modern parenthood the husband and I decided to engage in a spot of Friday night escapist fantasy with -FILM X- based solely upon Mark's recommendation.
>Imagine our shock when it turned out to be a two-hour slog through inane, baffling and incomprehensible utter tosh disguised as entertainment. Apoplectic with rage didn't even begin to cover it as we reached the sixty minute mark of inexorable dribble! We immediately retrieved the woeful disc from our DVD player of choice before returning it to the shop and instead ended up getting nice and cosy with a copy of Pirates 4.
>In summation we feel the good doctor owes us an apology and will take this in the form of a birthday greeting to our daughter who is currently overseas in Australia. Signed, Cunt."
He thinks Force Awakens was a great movie...
yeah Mark is pretty good generally
OH COMRADES COME RALLY
He is pretty based. I like how his reviews on radio at least never contain arbitrary ratings and instead just tell you if he liked the film or not.
>otherwise universally shit film
>gets a pass because it has a woman or a socialist understone
I really like listening to his stuff. I don't always agree but in general I think he knows what he's talking about
his criticism of Tarantino is 100% on point though
Kermode is a patrician and is /ourguy/. Even though he is a Nolan fanboy.
hopefully that ends with his PG13 war movie with boy band members
i enjoy listening to his reviews, sometimes though
when he gets appalled by violence and films
he gets disgusted by it and he comes off like a real fag
Pretty good
downsides
- feminist, thinks it's his duty to stand up for women even though they would hate him if he was a nobody
- softballs his mate's films

He's also way too entrenched in his own political views.
His views are counterbalanced by Simon Mayo who is a closet soft Tory
Yes, based Kermode is never wrong.
>spoiler
I can't really stand that about him 2bh
not saying his stuff is awful, but it's jarring to see kermode go all weak at the knees and wax poetic about some dark batman shit
Impeccable rants. Complete opposite taste to mine. Too much of a soccer mom nowadays. Liked him better when he was just a trot.
Bretty good overall.
Kermode is a bit of Armond Lite, I generally like him and Simon though. Their dry english humour translates well to film criticism imo.

I'm an insect who dreamt he was a man and loved it. But now the dream is over... and the insect is awake.
He's my favourite living critic.
He's a bigger cinephile than anyone on this site will ever be and understands where basically every film gets influenced from, he regularly attends film festivals like Cannes, he worked for the BBFC giving classifications for films in Britain, he takes serious films seriously and crappy ones as a joke, he's extremely articulate, he gives a shit about YouTube viewers and regularly uploads "Kermode Uncut" where he replies to emails/comments on certain topics, Simon is also funny and they make a good duo, he hosts his own radio shows for example he did one about the use of pop music in film and it was really interesting, he's not pretentious he just enjoys good movies and enjoys bashing bad ones.
Overall just a stellar critic that really makes assholes like Stuckmann and Jahns look like the plebs that they are.
He used to be a top meme shitposter critic
>GERARD BUTLAH
>DANNY DY-AAAHH
>FRED TALKS LIKE THIS, LIKE THIS AAAAH!
His opinions on film are mostly sound. Fuck him any time there is a movie with gender or racial themes/humour because he addresses that more than the film itself, look at his Ghostbusters, Chips and Entourage reviews, he is full SJW in them.
