When did it stop being kino?

When did it stop being kino?

After Swan Song

arguably when they introduced the angels, but definitely after the introduced leviathans.

When the angels were introduced. Castiel also drove the fanbase nuts.

you JUST KNOW the fucked

I'd say after season 4. When they started fucking around with the whole heaven and hell shit it started to go downhill,

When they changed their target audience to teenage girls

this. when they tried to do season long story arcs and got away from the monster of the week formula.

this is true but to be fair it's difficult to keep the monster of the week formula fresh for 13 seasons

Literally never.

It's nice that you had to add literally in there. Typical of a woman.

When tumblr took over

This.

When they decided to milk it for money past the point where Kripke had originally intended the story to end.
Meaning season 6 and beyond was a mistake.

S01E01 that fire effect looked fake af

Then it should not have lasted 13 seasons. It should have stuck to the X-Files formula, monster of the week with an overarching story that unfurls a few episodes each season.

The leviathan season

nah that's when it really went to shit

Everything after Season 5 was a piece of shit

the last three seasons have been great; only season 6-8 was subpar, and 7 & 8 were ok, whereas 6 was objectively bad

I really liked last season, heard the original writers came back, it shows

It's hard to trust a comment like that, since everyone with taste would have stopped watching after 3 bad seasons

Don't judge us, I'm allowed at least one utter trash show in my life

But it's not a german cinema though.
What are you talking about OP?

All least you tried, kino is originally Russian not German thanks for playing

Main storyline becomes mediocre to trash after Swan Song, but they are still coming up with quality monster of the week episodes even now.

That's how I justified seasons 6 and 7. Everyone has a little garbage they watch, but I still wouldn't recommend some of the truly horrible things I enjoy

>kino is originally Russian

Israeli actually

I refuse to watch anything after season 6

I honestly wish I stopped after Season 5, because the ending was perfect. But I continued, and I regretted it

I don't want to ruin my favorable memories of this series by watching another 8 seasons of it

After Wendingo

Lol

The only ones of those that truly upset me was the dragons and leviathans. Obviously there would be huge issues with doing those anything close to the myth their based on, but I think it would have just been better to not in the first place if that's the case

Yeah, the dragon thing was retarded.

When it moved from monster of the week and started the larger overarching plots. Idk i ain't watched since season 4, all i know is whenever i saw it while surfing one or the other of them was possessed by something.

Yes if they couldn't have a dragon, which is fair enough they just shouldn't ha e done it at all, twice. They could've at least implied they have a 'dragon form' and can appear human if they want

its how I justify watching justified sry I couldn't help it

What's everyone's favorite episode by season?
1: Dead Man's Blood/Faith
2: Simon Said
3: Jus In Bello/Mystery Spot
4: I Know What You Did Last Summer
5: Swan Song
6: And Then There Were None
7: Death's Door
8: Hunteri Heroici/Bitten
9: Mother's Little Helper
10:The Executioner's Song
11: Safe House

don't know the names, but the ones with loki/gabe in it or the ones directed by loki/gabe

I think that would be Tall Tales, Mystery Spot, Hammer of the Gods, and then whatever that one season 8 episode with him showing up in a porno is. All pretty good episodes. Mystery Spot is one of the greats.

the groundhog day one was pretty great, pretty sure thats a loki one too, also recently I know he directed a 'weird' one it was black and white I think

You forgot Changing Channels

When it went from two likable but flawed brothers traveling the country fighting spooky monsters while searching for their dad and what happened to their mother to OC donutsteele god destroyers ones shotting demons and angels like it's nothing while also getting their ass kicked by things they easily beat the first episode. So by the end of season 1

No Kroatoan? hahah son you stupid

Supernatural was amazing until the end of season 5. Its when kripke's five season arc ended and the show has been aimless.

I think it really took a dive when bobby died, He was a great and essential character for me.

Considered it, but I really like Simon Said and the Andy character. Shame what happened to him. I loved the entire "Special Children" plot, and S2 is probably my favorite season.

It never was

I just started season 12 and fucking Rowena shows up again. Just get rid of her already.

when they changed the actress for ruby

When they killed Meg. I miss her giant face.

Okay.

Ruby 2 was just as attractive. Also she married Jared, which is hilarious.

You're allowed as many as you want. Welcome to Trump's America, sweetie.

thank god, 2 years later she became a horse

When the angels showed up, it took a bit of a nosedive, but was still ok.
The biggest issue was when they beat Satan himself, in a show about fighting Supernatural evils, and that wasn't the end of it.
The fact that they've now beat God and his sister theirselves, and yet that isn't the end of it still... it doesn't even make me angry. Just an empty sadness that I imagine old people feel when yet another friend dies.

are they back to normal now fighting random monsters again? i stopped watching when one of them was sent into the future

There's an incredible episode in season 11 called Safe House where it shows Sam+Dean solving a case interspersed with flashbacks of Bobby+Rufus solving the same case like 20 years earlier. I'd highly recommend it if you haven't seen it, it's monster-of-the-week so you don't need to bother knowing the plot of that season.

I'll check it out but I'm thinking I'd going back to watching, I'm a couple seasons behind

Season 5.

Watch it until season 5 and pretend it ends there, seriously.

You mean you haven't seen God's hot sister who wants to destroy the world because she's on her period?

not to my knowledge

It really went to shit when they went with the Christianity=canon angle. They could've gone so many places with it if other gods were still deemed any sort of threat and their own validity in their legends, especially with God gone and Lucifer locked away.

Just offing a dozen of them to show off Lucy's powerlevel felt like a cheap move that hurt the power gods had before all that. I remember harvest-god being a genuine threat. The series turning towards Pagan gods after series 5 would've really revitalized the show and allowed for more MotW episodes to feel in place.

I agree, Hammer of the gods was an awesome idea for an episode but severely limited the rest of the show by making every other pantheon huge bitches. I'm sure that if they anticipated the show going past season 5 (they didn't at the time) that episode would be very different.

Might give it a watch sometime since I really miss this show

When I stopped watching. It was some time around the point when Dean met up with his ex gf and son(?).

Swan Song. The brother shouldnt have even appeared at the end.

He didn't in the original cut. They put that scene in when it became apparent season 6 was happening with Sera Gamble.

Christian mythology is interesting, dunno why everyone is so upset by it. Also the original formula wasn't really sustainable and got pretty stale because of the low budget. Power creep and fan service are what's wrong with the show.

It's interesting and they did 3-5 series on it. Could've let the show explore more variety of the world after that but instead we just got bigger and badder since they could only go up the ladder of their one column of mythology.

>Also the original formula wasn't really sustainable
I would say "then let it end," but I suppose the money was just too good to pass up.

True, but the shows concept had more potential outside it too. They just went overboard and handled it poorly

Swan Song was so perfect, they should have just left it at that.

rowena is one of the best characters though

that's what I had in my mind while reading that

This. This idiocy right here is when I dropped the show.

Always tought so myself.
I liked season 7 but the kino was already long gone.

When Felicia Day got introduced

I thought S1-5 were excellent. It really felt done. Then S6 was some of the worst TV I've ever seen and I didn't finish it.

1-5: Top Tier Genre TV
6: Meh, mostly mediocre but some interesting ones.
7: HOUSEHOLD CLEANING PRODUCTS KILL THESE ALL POWERFUL MONSTERS WHO ARE BENT ON WORLD DOMINATION
(short of the Bobby dying episode, which is great)
8-9: Pretty OK
10: Bad
11: Decent
Haven't watched 12 yet

yea I'm still mad

Best parts of 13:
Starts with lotta monsters of the week.

you mean twelve? and yea its better then its been in years

delet never mention again dean beat the shit out of that thing and then killed it, it was enough, don't bring it up

after Satan appeared

this. I was so fucking angry when this episode aired.

Seasons 1-5 are great

The latter half of the most recent season is all right, but I can't believe they just randomly offscreened Rowena, and they still need to introduce some lovecraftian big bad after the nephilim thing is done since the leviathans were complete shit

should i completly rematch supernatural guys? i have a nice tv comfy chair and i think i can get a free netflix trial
i feel like at least watching 1-5

The 1-5 journey is absolutely worth it if you haven't seen it in 2-3 years. I'm watching the start of S12 now and it's surprisingly good.

it's been about 3 since i'v seen 1-5 thanks user i'm installing netflix now

After S2 is where it should have ended.

>tfw i thought s1 ending was it and it was over

It's still a good character show but it's lost the sense of wonder seasons 1-5 had. They keep reusing the same monsters, there is no real investigating now since the brothers are basically gods and you fancy them against archangels, reapers even death himself.
Why has everyone forgotten about the death thing anyways?

it's been confirmed by the actors that cas is coming back and crowley is not - 'ol crowley is dead for good

...

>Lets bring the autistic angel constantine ripoff instead of Mark motherfucking Sheppard

>it's lost the sense of wonder
>there is no real investigating

say no more, user ;) they already did the voice acting for the episode, scheduled to be ep 16 next season

Whenever they added the angel and hell stuff, if they just had demons I'd be okay with it, the dude that played Death was a light shining in the darkness of the post season 3 show

the whole concept of these supernatural beings all being humans that snap their fingers to kill people really really made it gay

Honestly crowley stuck around way too long.
Theres no reason Sam and Dean should have allowed him to live(let alone basically become an ally) after all the shit he did to them.

FUCK THAT FYCK THAT FUCKT THAT CROWLOET IS MY FAVORITE WHERE DID You HERE this from?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>???????????????
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fuck fuck ufck ufck fuck MY WILL TO LIVE reeeeeeeeeeee

fuck yoi crowley did nothing wrong he was doing good he was great

>season 1&2 and maybe some others i dont remember
>Demons are really fucking strong, any encounter with them was basically a battle of life and death
>season 5 or something and onward
>let me just stunlock this demon with my pentagram bullets and then shoop da woop instaexorcise them
Who came up with this trash?
