>Minister wants new universal 'household charge' to replace TV licence
I didn't really give a shit about the Water Charges, but this really pisses me off. It's just another tax to fund RTÉ.

I'M HERE

>"The entire country will feel the effects of Storm Dylan tonight"
I thought the storm was last night?

So they finally found out that many 20-somethings use the internet instead of the TV and now they decided to just make everyone pay regardless if they have a TV?

Pretty much. Personally I have no problem with a state-funded broadcaster and there are some things that RTÉ does very well. However, like many other people, I do not believe that I am getting value for money from the current licence fee. RTÉ received licence fees, advertising revenue, and state funding, yet the majority of the content they produce is absolute rubbish. This is why - as flawed of a system it may be - I think it's a good think that people currently have an opt-out by not owning a TV.

This proposed replacement system is basically a tax with no opt-out. You're going to be funding RTÉ even if you don't consume any of their content through any medium. And RTÉ will continue to receive advertising revenue with no onus on them to increase the quality of their programming.

*good thing

I am a free spirit. I am a non conformist. I am unique in my own special way and I do not come across stereotypical.
A weirdo, an anomaly. Despite negative experiences I perservere through life and internal strife to experience brief moments of pleasure.

Do you own a TV?
Do you have to pay much or is it just a minor tax?

Are you pretending to me? It needs some work, you need to be more negative.
>The entire country will feel the effects of Storm Dylan
A big overreaction to a little bit of wind.

I was here a long time before you.

>Do you own a TV?
Currently, yes.

>Do you have to pay much or is it just a minor tax?
€160 per year. There are ongoing attempts to get it increased by RTÉ though. And their adverts reminding you to pay it are pretty obnoxious.

>Storm Dylan
Lest we forget

Those wedges are having quite an effect on you

Seriously though, am I imagining things, or was Storm Dylan forecast to hit last night?

Going pub

Bounced the gf's head off the floor again lads

>telling Lux yesterday about the Irish obsession with the lottery
>major news item on the news this evening about a lotto win

Try not to have an autistic breakdown again.

Is that advice for me?

No sorry I meant

What?

You're so special. Give yourself a pat on the back for being an ego-full hipster, you deserve it.

You are filled with hatred today. Please clear your mind

Should be fine. She'd have to have an abnormally dense skull to damage the floor.

Had lots of negative exexperiences "last" year

I'm only winding you up. Sorry but i can't resist it.

2017 has been the worst year for me.
I miss 2016, that was an amazing year.

For me the first half of 2017 was pretty great and it all came crashing down in the second half.

I consider everything an improvement over 2005. This year wasn't too bad.

Is it New Year's Eve now? Or when?

I don't even know what day it is. Saturday isn't it?

What was so bad?

I have work in the morning.

Today's the 30th, tomorrow's the 31st.

That's probably the most gayest thing I've read all day desu

>have work in the morning
Shall pray for your soul.

>tfw no bf

On Gay!!!

>current year
>using gay as an insult

There's a load of Normies in the pub.

Ah,thanks user

Last two years was shit for me.

Don't be a faggot.

It's solely a teenager/gamer thing now. Any normal person would be embarrassed to use that as an insult.
It's pathetic.

The barman thinks I'm a queer.

Give him a kiss for me lad

What has the year got to do with anything? Faggots are still faggots.

Stop being geh

What's for dinner?
160 doesn't seem like that much to me desu but I can see that it's annoying

No
He's not that good looking

>that good looking
>that

>geh
Aren't you so speshul and different?

Don't be so triggered, user. Just ignore whatever you don't like.

>Irish people
>good looking

>Any normal person would be embarrassed to use that as an insult.

No they wouldn't. Any normal person would be embarrassed to be perceived as a cock gobbling fag.

You are reaching for the bottom of the barrel there.I must had hit a nerve with Ms Specialpants here.

Rude.

>American "people"
>white

EXCUSE YOU?

We're not exactly a handsome people.

>What has the year got to do with anything?
Being gay is normalised in modern society, even the leader of our country is a gay man now. It's a bit weird to use it like it was 20 years ago when it was more of a shameful taboo thing.

You're posting a lot more anime these days.

Nah not really..

You must have a chip on your shoulder

I'm sure he's much younger than me.

This. I hate the current year line.

>getting upset about words
Can we talk about something else? I feel as if this thread is going to turn into a repeat of the last one.

Daddy is asking where I am.

When you get a job and start living in the real world and dealing with real people and not just stuck on your PC all day you'll find there is nobody that would use the word faggot or gay as an insult.
Not even the most staunchly conservative middle aged man.

Even if you dislike homosexuality there is a point where you have to act like a mature adult and not some underaged internet warrior.

...

Not my fault Celtic people look weird. As a matter of fact, all you island Euros look kind of weird.
America is a country built on immigration, so obviously it isn't going to be white after the 1985 Immigration act.
Princess?

Why? Because it's used to highlight some of your archaic attitudes?

1965*

Just a coincidence

Broad shoulders,nice chinlines,dark hair,fair skin...
What's not to love?

Everyone says these things and hates gays outside of your Dublin liberal bubble.
It is seen as abnormal and everyone talks shit about gays even in work offices.

>Princess?

OMG can my Dad fuck off

I don't live in Dublin. I live in Waterford.
If you knew who I was and weren't a gigantic newfag to these threads you would have known that.
Please return to your call of duty console games and come back once you've completed college.

...

You realise every county bar 1 voted in favour of same sex marriage? Although I'm sure it's very normal among bigoted Northern Irish who appear to have a venomous hatred for any group that isn't themselves.

AA pls.

>If you knew who I was
AA?

>come back once you've completed college.
I think you're overestimating him there

>come back once you've completed college
You never even made it to college.

I for one am glad to see him return and feel AA is a valuable addition to the /éire/ dynamic

College is a meme. You can learn all those things on your own.

I'm glad i'm a gigantic newfag to this general. Has to be the gayest place in Sup Forums. And i don't play games or in collage, I'm 23 so you can drop that because you look like a silly cunt.

You realise this is an Irish general?

If you want constant pointless arguments, sure.

t. AA

Yeah I was too good for college. I proved everybody wrong and went off to get a good job without having some gimmick degree and having blown thousands on 4 years of student expenses.
I have defeated you. AA is victorious once again.

Is the union jack Fermanagh lad or some wayward /brit/?

Fuck hi! Jesus i thought it was Italian!
Ya dopey queer fucker.

>College is a meme
Obviously it is a scam especially in the digital age of free information.

Nah he was the main cause of olde/éire/ dying

He's fun I guess

English guy I'd say since he refuses to answer that question.

Untrue, he wasn't even around for the fall.

This lad has to be a 16 year old with a GAA hair cut and a knacker attitude.

>GAA hair cut
Not sure what you mean, like that one with the short sides and that curly part on top?

>knacker attitude
Then you have some common ground.

Whats everyone drinking tonight?

Brilliant.
