Don't you guys have other options like trade schools? :'(

do you guys have a uni for shitty students where you can transfer to a real one?

i dropped out of high school due to mental problems, but i went to community college for 2yrs then transferred to my state's best public university. now i'm most likely gonna be in a ph.d computer science program next semester

that's meritocracy for you motherfucker

>Falling for the college meme

What part of Sweden?

you're dodging a bullet mate
I'm currently in uni and I'm literally 2 failed exams away from ruining 3 years of uni education

>rags to riches, picking yourself up by your bootstraps story
Merica as fuck, dog bless.

Trade schools require you chose the prerequisite program during highschool wich i did not
Nope, once your grades are set they're set in stone practically. You can do an entrance exam but only about the top 8% of the ones who do the test qualify for a university course.

>No public Universities.
You dissapoint me, Sven.

just try again. if you keep failing over and over then you should just join a trade.

Apply for an apprenticeship or a trade

That seems really weird and unforgiving.

People may bash America for a lot of things, but you can't deny it's one of the few places on earth where you can change your situation if you want to

can you not study for the entrance exam? sorry but i don't really see what's the issue here. just close your pc, take your books and study them.

What do you even mean by that? 25% of american children live beneath the poverty line, university costs shitloads. You have it much easier in Sweden, and yet here you are complaining.

Just find a full time job.

Also komvux exist you know. Don't be retarded.

You can only study broadly for it, the subjects and the style of the questions change every year.
And as i said, of the about 60-80 thousand participants every year, less than 10% are qualified for a university education, then there is competition between those, so say ~2% of that group get in to university

Study a lot, take entrance exam, don't you have it? I failed 2 times and had to wait for 2 years and finally did it, not the best uni here but considering how dumb I was in my high school times, I feel those 2 years of waiting is worthed

Yes, but atleast there isn't a government that says '' YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO IMPROVE, ONE CHANCE IS ALL YOU GET ''
If you fucked up in the USA, you work on yourself, go to community college, build yourself up bit by bit. Here, if you realize late in life that you made a poor decision, that insight is many years too late

what kind of masochistic system is this? here there is mainly three ways to enter college, you either get a good predicted grade which is what everyone does, or do the SAT (people who didn't go to school do this) or you enter college with a foundation year.

im pretty sure your country has something similar to a foundation year too, sweden's education is pretty good.

That 25% figure is from 2009, the height of the Great Recession. Now it's around 16% and still falling.

I admit our universities are absurdly expensive, though.

What are you on about? Just go through komvux

Know the feel. You can always "plugga upp" your grades but yeah that takes some time. Do it if you're young. It's worse when you get a bit older...

Do högskoleprovet you mong.

To be eligible for a foundation year, you need a B average from highschool, to then be eligible to proceed from that foundation year to university education you need to basically have aced every subject in that foundation year

Wow, perfectly in time for the government to lower the amount of people allowed into university from 33% to 12.5% of the ones applying through högskoleprovet

>tfw I could have gone to any university I wanted
OP is a huge faggot

got shitty grades in high school and i still managed to get into uni? how bad are your grades?

Just ace it, it is not a difficult test at all. You just do a lot of them and then it will be easy peasy, don't give up just yet. I did not even care about grades I just made sure I did good on högskoleprovet.

Here in Europe we don't give out diplomas like candy, you Americans would know loads about candy, you actually have to work hard if you want to get into a decent uni on a non-meme degree.

15.0 + 2 points, it would be a D/C average + an additional math course and english course for two extra merits

Go to something that is easy to get into and then you switch to some other program.

I am eligible for a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering wich is what i wanted to do, but i read that you basically need a masters degree for any job so it doesnt matter

Grades from gymnasiet does not matter at all when you go for a masters degree. They only look at your bachelor level stuff.

So getting a bachelors is still worth it?

Yes of course, just get it and see what you want you want to do when are done with it.

They pay us to attend one so why not.

drop school and live in the countryside as a viking
if you're a muhammad immigrant come do jihad with me

What are you even talking about? Going to school for four years to earn a degree is the standard here. What does that have to do with giving diplomas out?

if you're over 23 you can just enter uni with as a mature applicant in a lot of countries, just have an interview, don't come off as a mong, and you're in

>his country determines university application by his grades at school
LMAO

Socialized education 101.

This. The government pays for it so they only give you one chance, even if i am willing to improve i am not allowed.

here the government pays for it and we got infinite chances. sucks to be you

You should just study abroad.
It should be easy if you can speak decent English.

>Implying anyone hiring in a developed country would accept a degree from a Brazilian University

OP, become a machinemaster. In Denmark it only requires that you passed, and you get paid as much as engineers. Only downside is that you will have shit hours, and not see any people. You will probably work on a ship or on the country too

HALT MEHR PAUKEN UND PUMPEN DIGGI

No worries, some other swedish user confirmed i can just apply for a Masters degree after taking my Bachelors, so it works out i suppose

why would I go to the """""developed"""" world when I can earn a six figure income here as a STEM major since no one is qualified for the job? Also yeah, I heard tons of succesful stories about people getting jobs in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy especially because we are cheaper than the home workforce. But yeah pay up your tuition fatboy sure you will be better than the rest

1. Do you even need a bachelor's degree?
2. If yes, then find a lower ranking line of job in your field e.g. technician and wirk for 2-5 years. Then apply for uni as a matured student using your work experience.
3. Join the military. I don't know how it is in your country but my military for example has programs where you take courses to go up in rank by partnering with local unis. We also have a military university.

Do other countries have something like the gi bill where you can serve and get free college?

>Have a lawschool exam tomorrow
>Haven't studied one bit, skipped all the lectures and never even opened the books

On the plus side, I was able to beat DaS2 SOTFS CoC, or, well, everything but the DLC. If I could go back in time I would do it all again.

I can apply for a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering at one of my countrys top schools, the problem is if i want to do a masters degree i dont have the necessary gymansium school grades to apply

why do they allow/disallow pursuing a master degree based on gymnasium grades??
isn't it normal to do that based on grades as a undergraduate?

>when I can earn a six figure income here
Six figure in USD?

Why not go to other EU country? Have seen a plenty of Western/Northern Euros doing their medical degree in Poland and so

if it's a tip top uni they might look at previous grades too just so they can filter out more people since they'd get more applicants

I know the most useless swede in the world and he managed to get into uni after being a useless NEET for like 4 years

dropped out 4 weeks in but yeah

I mean, i can still read the courses and do all the tests, so i can "unofficially" be a masters degree but without the required gymnasium grades i can't officially take a masters degree
