Welcome to Southern Europe.
Northern Euros are B A N N E D, except Norway, for their bacalhau.
>Southern Europe
You mean Northern Africa.
:^)
Hi neighbour :D
maybe, maybe... not saying it isn't
Boa tarde a todos.
Sou portuboo. Estou conviado?
Estou a aprender português i estic aprenent català.
>portuboo
Isso existe?
>u
>estic aprenent català
per què
Sim. Pic related, é a minha cozinha.
Of course posters from Ceuta and Melilla are welcome.
>estic aprenent català
Why?
La llengua i cultura dels paisos catalans son molts interessants. Perdona, el meu català no es bon.
What's that flag in the top right ? I'm afraid it's not an actual country, you should remove it.
The Occitanie. Southern france, which historically spoke Occitan which is closer to Catalan than French and is culuturally more like Southern Europe.
And to prove to you all that I'm not memeing behind Google Translate:
>Current flag
6/10 would 10/10 if old flag
>Galo de Barcelos
10/10, approved by a Northerner.
Poland is not Southern Europe you retart, we're Eastern Europe genious.
I'm afraid you didn't understand my burger friend.
NOT. A. COUNTRY.
Occitan is dead and was only a family of dialects, Occitania is a meme that never existed, that flag is bullshit. Fuck regionalists and their deluded new worlder supporters.
That's a nice African tier flag you have here my dude.
>Northerner
Based. I still like the center part of the country (most of my friends are from Caldas da Rainha and I have a good buddy from Lisbon), I even have a model of the Lisbon trolley in the other room.
Dunno where I could find an old flag. I'm not too fond of the blue and white monarchist flag but I do like the really old square shaped ones that you saw in the 15th century.
The original Portugal flag was so much better and European. Anything with red, green and especially yellow is automatically third world tier.
I hate so much our current flag.
It's Monaco you dumbass
Haha, bé per tu, el que no sé si et servirà de molt. Bona sort!
My family names are Duguay (origin Gironde), Nadeau (origin Charente Occitanophone), Lafont/Lafond (common southern French surname), Bosc (origin Beranais), and Fabre (literally Occitan for "rabbit). Am I one of you?
fuck off dumb leaf
You can become an American ambassador in the Catalan republic
...
How do I into qt Spanish/Portuguese gf
>MUH HERITAGE
I want someone to gas my islands. please do it and then add it to Sicily.
Okay, I want to come to Occitanie (namely Gascogne and Limousin) to discover my roots. I also want to marry and breed with a woman who, like me, is 100% Occitan. I'm thinking about finding a hot native chick in the countryside near Bordeaux, like the Dordogne. Is it worth it?
if late antiquity had turned out somewhat differently, i'm guessing southern europe would have been more aligned with north africa and parts of the near east than the rest of europe...east germania might still be around, the slavic expansion would have been much more limited, no islam in former roman territory, no arabs and turks
Some friends unironically say I should be the US ambassador to Portugal. The perks look nice, like a big mansion in Lisbon.
kek no
South-Westerners girls are hot and have high-sex drive but the french country men are chad-tier so there is competition and south-western girls drink a lot but they are hard-working so i guess it's worth it
Also "Occitanie" is a meme, nobody cares about it outside of the internet, Bordeaux and Périgord (not Dordogne, PERIGORD) are 2 different provinces with different cultures and stuff
The right one looks comfy as fuck
>tfw no pure Southern Euro
Such is life in Northern Iberia.
>leaf asks if is it worth it
>say no
>so i guess it's worth it
fug
what i wanted to say is that french country girls are not qt materials, they are very similar to slavic girls except for their body kek
this just goes to show how much their reference samples suck if they make you almost 50% "northern european" because you deviate in that direction relative to their iberian sample
>>Occitan is dead
It's not
>>and was only a family of dialects
And ? Same for the languages of oïl, at the difference that the languages of oc have much more in common.
>>Occitania is a meme that never existed
>what are the Seven Provinces
>what is Aquitania
>what is Provence
It's not because it has never been a complete united country by itself that the culture doesn't exist. We don't differentiate it from France and call it the Midi for nothing.
>>that flag is bullshit.
This cross is very old and probably the most occitan symbol you can find. Same for the colors inspired by the flag Catalonia and Provence shares. The star created by the Felibrige represent the several regions inside Occitania, including Catalonia. This flag is a real flag, unlike your fucking leaf
Also occitan were not all cathars so keep your meme picture for yourself
tabarrnak vierge quack quack quack
fuck off you duck sounding weirdo, quebec is much less a country than Occitania
Fabre is a blacksmith in provençal iirc
how do i get a spanish gf?
Be black
>what are the Seven Provinces
Roman colons, Greeks, Ligurians, Basques and Gallo-Romans mixed in a 2000 years old religious administration of an UNIVERSAL religion
sounds very occitan
>what is Aquitania
a duchy led by the poitevins, but tell me how Basques and Limousins are the same people because of muh aquitaine
>what is Provence
BASED PROUVENCO resisting against dumb toul*usains and their stupid "occitan" meme, remember Mistral's fight against them
Provence is the exact opposite of Aquitaine, while Aquitaine is just a name for mutliple lands which includes multiple ethnics and language, Provence has one united culture, one language, known writers etc etc (also the best part of Europe)
>that the culture doesn't exist.
"Occitan" is just a group of languages, nothing else there is no such thing as an "Occitan" people/culture
And the "Midi" refers to the Mediterranean part of France
Also the "Occitan" cross is just the cross of Toulouse, nobody knows that flag outside of this shithole called "Languedoc"
Why dont you have central heating and act like if its not cold here? god dammit
Well to be honest it was a heavily raided zone by Northern Euros. We go the Visigoths, Suebians, and not forgetting the heavy occupation of French and British soldiers in the peninsular war who raped like there was no tomorrow.
1) She's Cuban
2) Is not difficult to get one, but don't expect quality
Hey, why did you take my bitch, Occitania, m*d?
>It's not
Yes it is. Just like every other regional language.
you never heard a northerner saying this kind of stuff IRL
I know, let me LARP.
if you are still LARPing i will call the FLNC and tell them you own a villa in Corsica
You're right. I'm confusing it with Lefebvre.
Gotta say I felt at home when in Portugal and Italy.
Take that as you will, fags.
see and I'm 100% French and am just studying in Québec you potato nigger. I have family from Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern France and I can tell you that the Occitania meme only exists among autists on the internet. Absolutely no real life back up.
Why do these maps of southern Europe always exclude Bulgaria? We have the Mediterranean climate and culture too.
Wtf Occitans look almost exactly like Northern Iberians. What is this sorcery.
D-Does this mean that R1b...
A-A-Are we pseudo French?
Idk, good question my dude.
Because only latin speaking countries are represented, I thought it was obvious.
not really en.wikipedia.org
Because we're the "core" of Southern Europe culture wise I guess. But Bulgarians are welcome of course.
It's just that everything past Slovenia gets ignored for some reason. Sometimes Greece is in, sometimes it's not.
You're always welcome to visit lad, just not stay.
That whole region between Lisbon and Leiria, which includes Caldas, Óbidos, Torres Vedras, Peniche, Ericeira, Mafra, Sintra, among others, is so damn comfy. I've been to every part of the country except the islands and Trás-os-Montes, and this is definitely my favourite. I hope I get to move there one day.
t. southerner (below the Tagus)
Are you Alentejano?
I've been to a lot of those places. Most of Caldense friends actually live in Óbidos, and I've spent time in Sintra, Peniche, Nazaré, etc. If I were Portuguese I think I'd want to live in that neck of the woods or Porto.
My med brothers
Will you let that f*ench people stay with us
Frenchies are cool.
Make Tolouse great again.
we are mediterranean
Come to Florida, I'll show you around.
Florida has lot of legit Spanish decent people?
I only know Ana de Armas and Cameron Diaz as far as Spanish-Americans go.
People who would call themselves "Spanish-American" are very rare, even if they're enitrely of Spanish descent. Most would identify their ancestry with a country in the Americas even if their ancestors from those countries had Spanish parents.
I did have a neighbor growing up, though, who got free college for being "hispanic" (by that, I mean she was 1/4 Spanish).
Well you guys do have everything regarding Euros so worth a try to ask.
I've googled Portuguese Americans and found you've got some.
Tom Hanks, Katy Perry, Meredith Vieira. Pretty cool. Don't know much them, we know more here of Portuguese-Canadians like Nelly Furtado or Shawn Mendes.
t. Pseudo French
What?
See
That's just a coincidence I'm betting. R1b m-m-means nothing.
It's okay brother
I'm R1b and "muh heritage" is mostly German/Irish, the closest to South Euro I have is Alsatian, yet I'd probably fit in with those people. I did pass for local in Northern Portugal so go figure.
Emeril Lagasse is another one. A buddy of mine from Caldas said his uncle lived in Toronto for several years and would chat with Nelly Furtado's grandparents on the bus.
Portuguese-Americans are a pretty small group and they're fairly isolated to New England, New Jersey, California, and Hawaii. I never heard about them much because I'm from Chicago, we don't even have a Portuguese restaurant here (yet the other day I found a fucking Eritrean one here, we've got literally everything except Portuguese). They're definitely not as influential as other immigrant groups like German, Irish, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, etc.
I blame the Celts.
YOU are the celt.
Don't self blame BROTHER
>I did pass for local in Northern Portugal so go figure.
Every single native Western Europe can pass as native in Northern Portugal as long as you don't go to much north (scandis), too much South (Andalucia, Greece) and too much East (slavs).
...
...
>Northern Iberians were always Frenchies in denial
Feels good, we have new people.
When are you joining the Empire fellow French citizens?
i want to ____ the andorran boy in the picture!
This desu. Everything west of the Ardennes is Celtic in some way on either side of the channel.
I did have one tuga friend tell me I look Swedish but I don't see it at all. I have lightish brown hair, blue eyes, and fair skin that only tans a little bit in summer. I'm also 170 cm. I'd probably guess I were French, Northern Italian, Swiss, Austrian, or Bavarian.
You have enough Portuguese there. Granted, they are from the South, but what can you do.
Also Napoleon was rude last time so shoo.
I'm also English... greatest ally :D
How come you got so close to Portugal in general ?
Hard to say. Maybe it goes back to 2011-2012 when I became pretty good online friends with this tuga guy from a forum I used to frequent. I didn't get too interested in the culture and language until 2014 when I wanted something to do over summer so I decided to start studying PT on Duolingo. It seemed like a natural choice since knowing a native speaker is the best resource for the language.
In 2015 I got to know this girl from Caldas on Interpals, and in 2016 I had the money so I visited them. That year I also got a lot better at PT and managed to make it sound more European and less Brazilian. I met a lot of friends of that girl in Caldas and expended my circle.
I went back in 2017 and saw a lot more of the country, that friend of mine also started at FCUP in 2016 so I got to know some of her friends there. I have a pretty extensive circle of friends around Portugal now, I guess.
>English
>In France
Pretty cool. Well, enjoy your time if you ever come back.
French in France AND English in France
Nuance nuance
>if you ever come back.
Oh I will! When I left one of my friends' moms said "so you'll be back next year, right?"
If I had the money I'd go every year. Hopefully next time I'll be fluent enough to get by only speaking PT.
Let's Billy france
como estas amigos, ariba ariba andele andele
Why is historical south euro music so quality?
youtube.com
Why is Indonesia there
It's Monaco you dumbass.
