Les Voyageurs et les coureurs de bois (literally travellers and runners of the woods but adventurers and woodsmen is a better translation).

Why do they look like amerindians?

Open toe sandal boots seem silly for cowboys

...

why exactly

Is this a fashion thread or a tacky Carnival thread ?

...

I wondered too, I guess it's just the colour or the quality.

Because they ride horses

Man I wasn't going tyo say anything on you posting your different regional variations for what is esentially the same dress, but going full autist on guy with guayabera is a bit much don't you think?

>because they ride horses
so what, you don't step with your toes in the stirrup

Nice bait!

...

No, it isn't, it's fashion still alive.. Have you even been to a gala event with actual charros? Do you know the difference in between trajes de gala and faena?

...

You would be frequently mounting and dismounting, sometimes even taking your feet off the stirrup in mid move as in some suertes charras, so traditionally boots in North America have pointed ends to facilitate that. Aside from that boots do work as protective equipment.

Mind you I'm not saying you guys do it wrong, it would just seem unusual for us to see people ride, nevermind work, with that style of footwear.

some gauchos wore boots as well, not the poorest ones though.
Take into account that gauchos weren't the exact equivalent of the vaquero, your average vaquero was wealthier than your average gaucho

Nah. I think its ok.

>implies that no se cagaban de calor

They are B*varian

Probably too drunk to care.

I want a qt portuguese gf...

Fair enough, that does make sense, I'm sure we had our own fair share of huarachudos working on horseback as a matter of necessity.
