Instead of a simple ineffective 3 day ban, users should be banned for either 10 or 30 days, but should at first be warned. The former accessed Sup Forums on a desktop, had a folder dedicated to appropriate images to accompany his posts, found Sup Forums through internet forums like SA or ytmnd and found in Sup Forums a website that was generally unlike the rest of the internet at large.
The latter rapidly whips up posts on his smart phone or ipad in between checking reddit, facebook and twitter, uses a small assortment of non-descript catch all reaction images like "pepe" for every post, found Sup Forums through the most mainstream websites like twitter or reddit, or even from googling 'funny internet memes' and looking through 'knowyourmeme' where links to Sup Forums are routinely found, and through his crossposting has made Sup Forums nearly indistinguishable from the rest of web2.0
The differences today between Sup Forums and reddit are less extreme than the differences between Sup Forums today and Sup Forums in 2006, and the most malignant cancer that afflicts Sup Forums and Sup Forums as a whole aren't transitory shitposts which will be here today and gone next week, inevitably replaced by something else, but a lower class of user that dominates the website today who holds no allegiance and sees no responsibility of upholding quality in his own posts and drags Sup Forums down to the same level of rest of the internet.
