Name one person who defends this character

multiple fags on Sup Forums

I wouldn't call ardent defenders of modern Disney's droppings "people" though.

Show me one instance of this ever happening.

Go on tumblr, you idiot. There's enough landwhales on there right now who are praising her as the second coming of Jesus Krishna.

No, I'm not going to visit tumblr. You can enjoy your tumblr all you want you big faggot.

Many people I know IRL

At least she is a character unlike Jyn "all eyes on me" Erso

But Felicity Jones is a 10/10 qt.

You mean tupac?

literally every time there's a nu-Wars thread on Sup Forums, faggot

Not one single name. AntiReys win again

Jyn's believable, kinda. Rey's a Broken Mary Sue. Jyn's kinda unbelievable but not by much.

>implying anyone post-prequels has any character

Literally every time? This is a nu-wars thread right here. Where is the defence of this character? I'm waiting, faggot.

Justin

What more detail? My biology preofessor and many of my classmates defense did her Andrew called Luke a Mary sue

*and called

Damn autocorrect

Is this B8?

BECUASE SHES CUTE AND I WANT TO HOLD HER HAND AND TELL HER I REALLY LIKE HER

yeah she's alright for a 6/10.

For me, I defend the superior character Jyn Erso.

She was a total mary sue but she very charismatic

I liked the main three, her, Boyega and scarface

>She was a total mary sue
>She was a total mary sue
>She was a total mary sue
>She was a total mary sue
>She was a total mary sue

Finn does. Not all that much but he does.

It never ceases to floor me how Finn is the sole good thing to come out of Disney Wars so far.

how did she know all those languages?

I'd defend her face from sweat with my tongue if you get my drift.

Hey, fuck you, buddy.
Jyn > Rey
Felicity > Daisy

No, it's more like "Idiots and apologists will make excuses for her mastery of every skill ever and instant proficiency with Force skills that take trained Jedi years to master."

She was even worse. Just a cheap audience surrogate. She should have hated the Rebels after her father died as a result of the attack on the Imperial base he was at. Yet after a scolding by McAccent man, she does a 180 and makes a cheesy speech about hope to the Rebel leaders that could have been written by a middle school student.

I thought Finn was one of the worst parts.

>"You have a boyfriend? A cute boyfriend"
>"Droid please!"
>That dumb whooping when the Resistance shows up as if Finn had loved the Resistance all along even though he was trained by the First Order, which should have instilled a hatred for the Republic/Resistance in him, and his main goal for a chunk of the movie is to just run away
>Only sticks around because Rey was captured and he has a crush on her (cue "Rey is a cute!" comments)
>Gets a lightsaber to the back defending Rey and gets friendzoned at the end
>That dumb trash compactor reference where Han asks Finn if there's one on Starkiller and Finn says "yes" in an obvious wink-wink-nudge-nudge to the audience

It's not that I'm terribly critical or supportive. I'm most critical of how proficient with the force she is after only a few hour of knowing of it. Sure, Luke had his moment blowing up the death star but that was executed in a much different way. She was indeed a Mary Sue, at least so far as we understand the character. Her discovery of the force could have been handled in a much better way. Suspension of disbelief is delicate. It works best when you don't realize it's happening. I remember having a moment while watching TFA in theaters where I thought, "Okay, this is where I'm supposed to suspend disbelief."

Responding to the video
>The Mary Sue thing itself is sexist
No, Daisy. It's a legitimate term that describes a shittily written character. Rey wasn't really vulnerable except for one or two scenes. Those would be when she's Force-frozen by Kylo and when she's being mind probed, although she turns the tables because she's supposedly strong in the Force for some reason yet to be explained in the coming movies. At least you know in Ep IV that Luke's father was a Jedi and a skilled pilot (explained by Obi Wan).

Rest of the movie:
>Fends off multiple muggers trying to steal BB-8 without help
>Sets up Finn for shot on final tie fighter in chase scene b/c he was rendered useless by mechanical failure
>Saves Finn from tentacle monster on cargo ship
>Uses Force suggestion technique on essentially first try - which took Luke years to master (until ROTJ) - and escapes her cell without needing to be rescued by Finn, Han, and Chewie
>Goes toe to toe with Kylo, who's been trained in Jedi and (more recently) Sith arts. Yes he was injured by Chewie's bowcaster, but Sith feed off of anger and pain.

If she was a Mary Sue she wouldn't have gotten captured by Kylo, opened the Rathtar chambers, misfired the blaster, (would have) accepted the fact that she was ditched sooner ("they'll come back"), or run away from the "force responsibility" like a little bitch after her force vision. She's overpowered as hell, but not without flaws.

Oh, I guess I'm the fag that "defends" her as a character; well fuck me, I don't really give a shit.

At the very least she had the good sense to die at the end of her movie so her bullshit couldn't spread. OP's girl is posed to ruin all of Star Wars.

You really need to kill yourself, characters like Revan and Anakin are canonical gary stues, they are OP as fuck by design and even THEY had to go through Jedi training to control the force and use a Lightsaber.

But she has no character.

>Luke is being shown to want the Jedi to end
>Mark Hamill hates his part in episode eight

It really seems like they are going to throw well loved and actually good characters under the bus so that they can make Rey look even better

Fuck Nu-Star Wars

>she very charismatic
le open mouth confused face

Really nigga...

Any old fuckboi can use a lightsaber (she obviously knows hand to hand combat with her stick), and the title of the fucking film is "The Force Awakens." I didn't say I liked how the force was "used" in the film, but clearly the intent was "holy shit she's a force prodigy, the force awakened in this bitch."

Don't get me wrong, the next film could shit the bed and not explain her OP force status, but I think it was set up that way to create intrigue (the one thing Jar Jar is pretty good at).

>there are people that actually liked the first movies
>there are people that actually like starwars in general

They're both bland characters, the only reason Jyn gets less shit is because she wasn't a complete mary sue like Rey was

Lemme guess, Tarkscovsky fan? get lost

That and Felicity is much more beautiful.

The irony here is that she's objectively the best part of the movie. Sup Forums is just full-on contrarian.

Daily reminder TFA is considered good by majority of audiences

She's not really anything at all, you can't defend or attack her.

She's just another vessel for the story to progress around her, kinda like Anakin, but not as terrible.

>She's just another vessel for the story to progress around her
that could be said about any main character ever. Stop trying to be vague, you daft cunt.

I'll defender her if she turns to the dark side in Ep. 8. But Disney won't fucking do that.

That's the point, you don't really know anything about her, or her motivation. Everything about her is in the moment.

Quints confirm.

So now you're saying she's a bland character with no defining character traits. I guess you were lying when you said you can't defend or attack her.

Checked and keked

I wish.

This. Though I still defend Rey, I love Jyn Erso better.

This.

>Your the chosen one
>spend years of training to master the force
>Supposed to be the strongest force user ever
>find out that some women in the middle of nowhere masters the force without any training
>Going to now be the most powerful force user ever because reasons

They'd somehow manage to fuck that up anyway. Nonetheless, I still am holding out hope that the next movie can redeem the Force Awakens.

...

...

Quints of Truth confirm.
I love Felicity Jones!

Star Wars nerds all defend this character.

Her acting in Rogue One was shit desu

If Finn doesn't hurry up and become Kyle Katarn, I'm giving up on Disney's SW.
Rey and him need to struggle against or with one another because Rey is an uninteresting plot vehicle by herself.
TFA put her character in a mine cart and fast tracked her to a contrived, cookie-cutter hero's journey.

go away E;R

Best part of the movie. Am I right?

>miss me yet?

HAH

Even TFA was better than the prequels.

I do. She's great.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.

...

It's Treason then

I liked the movie alright but that fucking scene where she gives her gay ass speech, holy shit.

Yeah sure the prequels weren't the greatest but they were entertaining and at least you tried to tell your story, as autistically poorly executed as it was.

As shit as they were, they at least had a surprisingly in depth plot.

Shit argument senpai

Wtf
