No its a bunch of high school girls recruited by businessmen, in a way presumably involving binoculars and a white van, who are used to look cute and sing garbage mass produced pop music to frenzied crowds of jap manchildren. There are 48 of them so they can put on multiple shows and events at the same time. And when one turns 18 or is caught not being a virgin they get kicked to the curb and a new virtually identical girl is brought in to maintain numbers.
