I prefer Oslo, August 31st when it comes to addiction portrayed in films. There are a lot of memorable moments in RFaD but OA31 feels really honest, and you feel bad for the main character but you also feel angry at him for being well-connected and having a good support system and still being a shithead heroin addict.

I really liked it because it's about pure failure. The characters try to better their lives and find happiness but they fail every time and get more and more haggard and frail as the movie progresses. I think this is why I like it better than Trainspotting, because Trainspotting took time to show the characters in a positive, drug-free light in a few scenes. Also the heist subplot at the end which I believe to be tacked on. Requiem is just failure, pure failure.
