Finally got around to watching this

Who else thought a white cop was going to get out of the car and he was going to get blamed for killing the family and burning down their house, and rot in jail? It would have been really dark but I think it would have made for a better ending.

That scene was complete kino, old horror movies end with police light letting you know it's over and the remaining characters are going to be alright. Here he is still in danger until his bro comes out of the car.

And that is the exact reason why it DIDN'T happen - subversion of expectation.

Would it have made a difference if the white cop had discovered them though? Once the police investigated the house and realized "oh shit these people were doing some shit here" and Chris told his side of the story, wouldn't they let hom go on self defense or something? Happy ending regardless.

He burned the house down there's no evidence they were up to something.

>once Chris told his side of the story
Are you forgetting he's black?

why did she have to have a 4month relationship with him when just grabbing random guys off tinder would have worked just as well? Did there need to be some sort of betrayal element to make the bodies more susceptible?

I feel like Chris was too smart. He kept his wits about him the whole time. Never implicitly trusting whitey.

She had to get in his head a little for the plan to work.

That was the original ending but Peele decided to change it into a more happy one.. Kind of glad he did that because else the entire black cop subplot would have been pretty useless

Who care about this reddit movie for filthy redditors

True. But they could have written his character out.

I don't know, I guess I just like my movies fucked up and dark.

One thing I didn't understand about the movie was why did the white people want to be stuck in the black people's bodies? After the brain-switch, they have to live the rest of their lives as slaves. And if the white person had their body, why did they just snap out of it when their picture was taken?

Sorry for being a pleb.

The grandparents aren't actual servants, that was part of the lie. The reason they took black bodies is because black people are "cool" now.
Remember that Paul Mooney quote, "Everybody wanna be a nigga, but ain't nobody want to be a nigga."
This was their way of being niggas without being niggas.

So he was just chopping wood for the fuck of it? Also, why was he so robotic anyhow?

Also, they explain that what was the black person's consciousness now lives in the down below or whatever. What did the white person see after the camera flash? Nothing?

bump

Oh, I get it. When no outsiders were around, they were just grandma and grandpa. Ok.

That must also be why that lady was like "so... Is it really better?"

She wanted her husband to give her the ol' BBC.

So the social commentary here is white people are always trying to be black; using placket people's words/phrases, listening to hip-hop and living vicariously through black alpha males with cuck porn.
Meanwhile, black people are just like "nooooo you don't" cause being black is actually fucking shitty. Even now.

Also just goes to show you how creeped out they must be by us on a consistent basis.

They actually filmed that ending. dailymotion.com/video/x5msq6s_get-out-alternate-ending-horror-2017_shortfilms

K I N O

Yeah, the fire will completely melt any evidence of the surgical suite, skulls cut in half, burnt bodies of old people and young black men.

Because a fire NEVER leaves any evidence behind, you fucking retard.

Also, he left that white cunt alive in the original ending. Why?

H E 'S B L A C K
Need I say more?

Also, he was a neurosurgeon or some shit so a lot of that can be explained. The black men are "the help."

As far as the cops know, this is just some crazy lunatic nigger making up some elaborate story to get himself out of that mess.

that was the original ending user. They changed it. I like that they did cause it was just a fucking Black Mirror episode. Depressing as fuck. Plus that white bitch woulda lived

I mean that is probably true but to what end? I think it would have been far more chilling if our expectation had come to fruition. Its inevitability would have made for a far darker ending with a stronger impact. I think the ending they took was mostly a choice based on what would be most palatable to a mainstream audience. The far more depressing ending likely wouldn't have gone over as well.

>woulda lived
Watch this True, that's part of the reason I don't like it as much. To be fair, I'm happy with the film we got. But the alternate ending would have made this a classic imo.

bump.

I absolutely thought that was going to happen. I was relieved when it didn't, but it shore could have been compelling. Some Oscar recognized shit desu

The point is that those details are irrelevant when faced against blind racism. Much more likely and convenient for there to be one black suspect than a family wide conspiracy, if you're a lazy racist cop.

>living vicariously through black alpha males with cuck porn.

maybe if Sup Forums was writing the script

I always interpreted the film as a subversion of race diologe in the country in that the bigger race concern should be the white left's appropriation of black struggle for the sake of narrative in the same fashion the borquosise left appropriated the proletariate struggle for the sake of narrative.
We see that the film paints Afrophilia to be a bigger concern than the "institutional racism" in policing the white left likes to perpetuate.

>diologe
>borquosise

Trump supporters everybody

>notices 2 spelling errors instead of addressing the actual content
>assumes I'm a Trump supporter based off of vaguely right leanings
Bravo, user

>spelling errors
>borquosise

That would have been so goddamn heavy-handed though
I thought the majority of the movie worked in the social commentary well but having him get shot by a white cop at the very end would have crossed the line into ABSOLUTELY BEATING YOU OVER THE GODDAMN HEAD with it

>predictable tropey ending would've made it a classic

It makes the viewer realize that they already know how terrifying a police officer showing up could have been at that moment.

Literally what does that mean?

Yes
That is an incorrect spelling of "bourgeoisie"

I'm glad it didn't happen. The movie had a comedic heart to it and ended just that way. It really was a good movie despite people around here pissing about it.

Thats the alternate ending

in real life if two cops rolled up on a black man choking a white woman they would have mag dumped killing both of them lmao

>script
I'm talkin about real life, nigga

Black person here

the movie critques white people period.

we don't see a difference between a smiling liberal cac or an alt right college edgelord.

It's all racism to us.

They never explain how Chris finds him

"I'm TSA"

This

the right's hilarious "no this movie is just about how liberals suck" is very fucking funny to watch

>H E 'S B L A C K
>Need I say more?

the movie goes to great lengths to show this happens in a liberal new England-esque state so yes your point re race makes little sense

Shit, that's depressing. I have a feeling they wanted to go with that but figured audiences wouldn't have liked it.

i just want white wombs to be filled with superior black seed

Please show me examples right wing racism in the movie.

Why was this movie so similar to The Invitation?

The people praising this movie are predominantly white liberals though.

Because there were clearly cross burning rednecks and ethno-state skinheads in the movie

if people showing you sympathy is still racism then expect a whole lot of people to stop caring about racism as a concept very soon... why give a shit if you can't win

A fucking thing happening does not make a "better ending" you fucking moronic plebs

>we don't see the difference between neo-nazis and Afrophiles

Maybe ya'll should since ya'll vote for the later

Yes, user, racists are gonna stop being racist because black people hate them. Flawless fucking logic.

No, the point is black people are just human, they shouldn't be glorified or vilified

What? the point is no one sane will give a fuck about being considered racist to begin with if just being white is the only requirement you idiot... look forward to a bloody race war if the modern left keeps up the stupidity though

One is racist out of appeasement, excessive sympathy, and envy
The other is racist out of disgust

One views them like infants
The other views them as vermin

These are two completely different dynamics that should be addressed differently

The alternate ending was the better ending

user...Afrophiles are spineless and self-resenting bottom-feeders that will never stop caring.
They have no self respect and believe that whoring themselves out and excessive appeasement will give them some sort of redemption and political power.

>actual discussion and valid criticism about a politically charged movie
You have so much potential Sup Forums

The best ending would have been a genuinely well meaning white cop checking out the scene and Chris killing him out of paranoia.

This movie taught me that white people suddenly become Vulcans when they are in black people's bodies

everybody thought this

not necesarry, the seed was planted in your mind and you were worried for the protagonist. Whether or not the movie followed up on that, the effect was delivered.

Vulcans are stoic and cold
The body snatchers were just robotic spergs

>ya'll
>ya'll
what do you think "ya'll" is short for?

I was with this movie until it was revealed that the white people were body snatchers
What self respecting white person would want to be a nigger

"You all"

but what if the cop wasn't racist? If we're counting the one who asked Chris for his license, that guy might not have been racist, just heard about black men going missing in the area and wanting to take note of the fact that Chris would be in the area. If it was some rando, he also wouldn't need to be racist you'd get a kino ambiguous ending that lets the audience decide for themselves what happened after the arrest.

honestly that would lead to a lot of crazy plot threads afterwards. I mean if he had to go to court for it would he say that they were trying to kill him, and replace his brain with stephen root's brain? Would the media chime in on this? would the friends of the family testify against him, or support him because they are all weird out of touch liberal fucks? would we see BLM activists talk on the news about it? Shit would be insane

Which of the letters are missing?
