What's that? You don't have your own excel file to keep track of all the movies you've seen?

>what's that? You don't have your own excel file to keep track of all the movies you've seen?
Fucking normies. I right my own reviews too.

Why would I?
I know what movies ive seen and what i like.

I have seen so many horrible films i wouldn't waste my fucking time typing up that shit.

Someone has shit taste.

have u only seen 27 movies?

I dont know how your ratings work but I can tell they are fucking shit.

>>>r/truefilm
My ratings work like this
1=don't watch
2=can watch
3=should watch
4=must watch
Pls tell me you have your own rating and don't just use imdb?

movies either good, bad, avg, shit, great. thats mine

I've seen too many films to start cataloguing them now.

My htpc runs plex and that keeps track of everything I've seen so why the fuck would I

Also rating films is retarded. I will change every time you watch a film so why bother.

>29 films
>most of them from the past few years

I just have a list made on imdb that I add to

I hate Bone Tomahawk too, feels like they went so far into making it a realistic movie that it sapped legitimately ALL the fun out. Torture scene was proof there should be a violence ban in movies up to a point or violence can reach pornographic levels.

You are the only person I have seen with Hacksaw Ridge at a virtual masterpiece level, why did you like it that much?

How could you give Logan a 1 bro? I mean shit a 2 MAYBE. I think you are dead on about Arrival, movie bored me to tears but I still want to see Blade Runner badly.

My aim is to see 1000 movies. So far I'm at 834. I have a list gonna make a webm of it if you like

Here's the webm

Hacksaw Ridge: 4
The Handmaiden: 2

Nobody has said it so I will

>right

Nice. How long have you been keeping this? And what language is that?

But, I do.
I have excel spreadsheets for everything, not just movies.
Pic excludes most of the columns and other stuff is other sheets.

>How long have you been keeping this?
since 2011
>And what language is that?
Slovenian

letterboxd.com/

Give me that excel file or template.

So how many movies have you seen guys?
I don't get much time, so I have seen 850+ movies, but I am slowly increasing my pace.

Different user here.
Better just to export into a spreadsheet from IMDB or similar if you just want all the metadata.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

>ignoring the good, the bad & the ugly
baka senpai

what's wrong with you?

(You) here
A lot. So very much. I have sheets for: Movies, Anime, Manga, Videogames, TV, Music, Cartoons (almost 100% from when I was not even a teenager yet) and much more.

>I right my own reviews too.
What gives you the write to do so, user?

I gave hacksaw ridge a 4 right after seeing it. There was parts of the film that got me very emotional. I think Mel Gibson is a great story teller, and the acting was pretty good. Right now I give it a 3.

I didn't like Logan because imo the story, characters, and action were boring. And the villain were non existence.

I actually thought bone tomahawk were laughably unrealistic. I thought the killings and tortures and fights were cartoonish and made me laugh a lot.

I don't have much hope for blade runner lol.

its called autism

Terrible
Poor
Mediocre
Decent
Good
Very Good
Great

How do I do that?
I don't know why but I like to maintain list of movies I have seen (with metadata) , books I have read, etc.

I don't know, but I know someone who has, but it's rather difficult, since by "export" I mean "scrape". Other sites may have easier ways.
For books, you can use calibre or download a torrent with tons of books and their metadata. KAT used to have really nice ones for that.

Two writes dont make a wrong

>tfw when your "ongoing TV series that I'm watching" sheet has 54 entries
I feel it's become far too much.

themoviedb.org/documentation/api

Neat

Very cool bro. But why do you have multiple options for shit? Like poor/mediocre/terrible. My thinking is if it's shit then it doesn't matter if it's really shit or really REALLY shit, I don't want it either way.
Give me your email.
It's in my other file. I give it a 3.
I would love to know how many films I have seen. Unfortunately I have only been keeping this since last year.

1,588 Total - 75 This year
>I would love to know how many films I have seen. Unfortunately I have only been keeping this since last year.
Browsing IMBD and going down a rabbit hole of 'people who liked this also liked' helped me find a bunch of movies that I had watched a long time ago. And lists on letterboxd.

Terrible = One of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Poor = No redeeming qualities.
Mediocre = Some worthwhile parts, but mostly not worthwhile.

Decent = Worthwhile, but not worth recommending to anyone.

Good = Your standard enjoyable movie.
Very Good = One of the better movies I've seen.
Great = One of the best movies I've seen.

I originally had less, but I've been doing this since 2007 and over time felt the need for more. It's 3+1+3, so 7 to keep balanced on each side. What you posted how I used to think, but I changed my mind. I only three in the beginning. Meh - Good - Great.

Zasto imas odvojeno Reziser i Reziserka?

Op you have shit taste.

Anyone who watches Arrival, Logan, Ghost in the Shell Rogue One and all that nipshit is a confirmed pleb

>Train to busan a "don't watch"
pleb

>quantity of quality

why would you bother doing a "watch 1000 films" then watch mostly garbage?

what can be gained from this

Watch more film. Also I use letterboxd which lets me import to a spreadsheet if I wanted it to.

That's so weird, yet funny. But hey, if it makes you happy and feel organized, then bless your heart. No judgement here.

>not using kinopoisk, the best internet movie database, to keep track of all the flicks you've seen

My ratings are based on the experience of watching the film and nothing more, that keeps the rating system pure and perfect
1-3 - didn't even finish
4 - fastforwarded a lot
5 - fastforwarded a bit
6 - didn't fastforward, but was a bit bored
7 - enjoyed the film
8 - enjoyed the film so much I want to watch it again
9 - a film I saw 2-3 times and still like
10 - saw it over 5 times

according to letterboxd I've only seen 800 films at the age of 22

How will you ever know what a good film is when you don't watch any garbage? Besides, some of the garbage films can actually be great and fun. Tarantino built his career on mimicking garbage films

>hurr durr you don't have my taste in movies so you're shit

fuck off. Not everybody watches movies to feel enlightened. I watch movies for what they are. I like comedies and adventure movies. I don't give a shit about some Blade Runner or some random 50s movie. I'm not a reviewer or a critic.

It's mostly to show myself much of my life I've wasted on entertainment. The other reason is if I ever want to recommend stuff to others, or show them.

Somewhat edited.
Changes - Expectations removed, one column on movies removed, "Check Out" doesn't mean "I'm going to watch this". It means I'll look at it more if I want to watch it. Status column mostly blanked. Probably forgot to list a few things over the years. It happens.

Doesn't look that good because of formatting changes from uploading it, but oh well. What a mess.

>this /r9k/ level of "the 'tism"

This is what I have listed as "Great", but certainly some don't deserve it and some I did for personal reasons, and others I was probably just crazy at the time and never bothered or cared to change it.

I couldn't care less if that's the case.
"Art" movies are all terrible.

"""" classics""""

Most of those aren't even that.

My top 49

Oh man, B13. I remember that one. One of my french friends loaned me that DVD. I watched it 3 times. I was so impressed by the stuntwork.

Sent.

Lists like this always make me so depressed, because I care enough about movies to feel bad that I haven't watched as much as I want to, but apparently not enough to actually watch some of those.

I've seen maybe 3 from that list. I recognize the titles of maybe a dozen, because I have them on my watch list but I never actually watch them

>mid 20th and early 20th century movies were the best
Ok

Ok thanks a lot.

Like any non-autist, I use imdb's watch list

I'd love to trade places with you if I could so I can watch them for the first time again. If you can, get yourself a film struck account and start watching filmographies.

I think I have a decent amount of favorites made after 1980, more than I do of films made before 1940. The 60s are obvs my favorite decade.

>so I can watch them for the first time again.
This is a really silly thing to say. It wouldn't lead to the same results and you'd lose your prior appreciation. Seems like a net loss to me.

Most of them I've loved since the first time I watched them. I don't think my taste has changed much over the past few years anyway.

It's not only about access to films. First off, my setup is crap just a regular 1080p computer monitor and some crap speakers and a lousy chair. If I had a projector and a surround system I'd watch more for sure.

Unlikely

I move movies I watched to a folder named "Watched".

Thanks bro. There's a few on here I've always wanted to watch. Will check them out.
Recommend me a few good ones pls. I don't like films that are too slow.
Same. I think these old movies sometimes deal with emotions that I wasn't comfortable with, so I didn't bother with them too much. I think I'm ready to explore and move past this barrier as I've grown as a person and also I'm very tired of modern movies.

>Thanks bro.
You're welcome.

>having such shit memory that you can't remember which movies you've seen and which you haven't
You'll probably have Alzheimer's by 40

I use Letterboxd, fag.

Some autist posted this on his facebook page
m.(KIKE)book.com/IMOGENsfavoritepage/photos/a.1394972000743293.1073741827.1394960050744488/1910571399183348/?type=3&source=48&ref=m_notif¬if_t=like

How do you know that you remember everything?

I've seen 603 at 19. Can't decide if it feels like I've seen more or less than that.

I was just thinking about memory. I watched some Edgar Wright interviews and I literally can't believe how he remembers so much stuff. It's one thing to watch 5000 movies, but to remember the year, director, studio, actors, plot, character names!!!, context in which the film was made... That's just insane. He must have Aspergers right? Same with Tarantino.

I can remember easily what I watched and what I didn't but very little else stays in my head other than the director and the basic plot, and actors if I liked them and roughly when it was made (but often not the exact year). I usually best remember how the film made me feel. Some films I remember more than others, some really stay with me.

I think the trick is actually to only watch the movies from the same decade at a time. That way you get patterns that sre easier to remember, for example, you see actors multiple times and see multiple movies from a director.

>Aspergers
No longer exists as a diagnosis. There's only autism now.

1080p televisions are getting pretty cheap these days at least. You can find a 55" for around $400.

I don't know which user you are but Olivier Assayas, Kim Ki-duk, Asghar Farhadi, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Paolo Sorrentino are some of the better contemporary directors to get into.

>not getting a 8K TV
kek

Good rating system. Leaves flexibility and subjectivity unlike the 1-10 bullshit so many autismos do.

I generally go to flickchart to keep track of my shit.
I've seen nearly 900 movies so far.

Yikes

...

>all the police academy flicks
kek
Why didn't you just use one of the countless "x number of movies you must watch before you die" lists?

>Bloom
No. "Canon" is just a marketing term.
Bloom is just a meme.

>not being well-rounded and experience in all forms
Shame.

Get AIDS subversive.

Why is there so much shaming on this board? Why does it matter what someone likes or doesn't like. I feel like it's necessary to go through the ordinary to get to the extraordinary.

For me personally, I started watching older films and art films because I got sick of the modern stuff. Became too predictable. Even though I have the animalistic instinct to gravitate towards the easily palatable, I fight it and watch films that are objectively more interesting.

But there's nothing wrong with liking what you like, as long as you know why you like it.

Having said that: caring enough about movies to catalog 900 movies you've seen but still have those films as favorites is really strange.
