idk

but Trump is all for getting rid of it so that will only make things better

Net neutrality is just the jews trying to save shekels and brainwashing the good goys to back them up.

>oi vey, goy, the government will slow down your vidya and porno, goy. you don't want that do you?

The reality is net neutrality is like not taxing trucks on the highway. The trucks carry goods for jews, and the goys pay for the roads. Without net neutrality, companies can set up toll booths for the roads and charge the jews their dues.

57.5% of ALL INTERNET TRAFFIC is jewflix, jewtube, and kikebook. Remember that when you're defending the jew and preaching "net newtralitee" like a good goy.

Except trump is a mentally challenged/unhinged retard and his supporters vote against their economic interests so that billionaires can get undeserved tax cuts gibs

Rise of net havens (just like you have tax havens now), through which everyone will route their VPNs.

People actually don't vote against their interests since they are always thinking at the margin, so this is actually not true

>this is your brain on Sup Forums

those websites support net neutrality, its more about comcast wanting more money.

Sure thing kiddo

what specifically did they vote against that was in their interest?

How do they vote against their economic interests?

Sup Forums posting on other boards should result into immediate autobans

so this is the brain of a retard.

>companies can set up toll booths for the roads and charge the jews their dues.
>(((companies)))

this

No you don't understand people are self interested rational agents and that means that they perform a flawless cost benefit analysis before making any decision you need to take an economics class

>How will abolishing Net Neutrality affect the way we watch shows online?

They have already implemented data caps which people are going to saturate when in a few years 4k becomes the standard on everything.

Once it becomes legal, they will just say "use our preferred streaming services that dont count towards your cap". So you eat your cap using Netflix, you dont when using Hulu.

They are going to get that extra nickel and dime out of you, by either paying for a higher data cap or by paying for the services they want you to.

If it works successfully with video streaming, they can push it even harder into other sections of the internet.
Give an inch, take a fucking mile

...

I'm hoping Net Neutrality gets abolished. Sup Forums will go away forever and we can all be free.

kek, is this the narrative on Sup Forums now?

Conservatives are not rational and mostly blinded by their seething prejudices to those who are not like them.

i really don't want to have to pay to look at fucking news websites.

...

>Sup Forums will go away forever
Only for americucks.

that would be refreshing and depressing at the same time

I feel like you made this obvious, but I'm sure it wasn't obvious enough

>Comcast will charge Facebook more

technically yes, but competing websites will get slower connections and be pushed out of the market, giving Facebook and other major sites a monopoly

But I'm sure you're fine with Mark ZuckerBERG having a monopoly, you contrarian retard

You posted this on Sup Forums, 2/10

zuckerberg/facebook supports net neutrality.

Please explain how they vote against their economic interests

No you're still not getting it people are always evaluating their opportunity costs and making informed rational decisions you should read about the invisible hand which results from self interested rational decision makers and always corrects the market to maximize social benefits you really need to read about economics

Exactly this. If anything, we the end user consumer are defacto subsidizing the cost for Google and crew with our bills while getting inferior streaming.

We're the only thing making this site any good. The foreigners are all fucking retards. I would love to see a Sup Forums filled with only idiots from brazil and australia.

Trumo's proposed budget, and the replacement bills for Obamacare only made substantial cuts to Medicaid, which serves as healthcare for the bottom 50% of America

Basically if anyone who uses medicaid and voted for Trump is a retard becuase they voted for people who are trying to cut their voter's benefits

Internet memes have completely eroded this guy's brain.

Why are Internet companies so shitty. There are no electricity or water caps, and those actually involve things that exist.

>"Hurr your voting against your own interests, why did you vote for Trump?"

Because I wanted a fucking job, rather then welfare you scum.

I was just going to say that.

>the opposite of sucking a billionaires dick and thanking him when he cums on your face is literally communism

if only there were a middle ground

>only for the only relevant posters
You sure showed him.

what a fucking echochamber you must have been in kid.

>busting unions
right to work and keeping down production costs

>taking away health care
offering a choice of plans that fit the individual instead of a bloated 1-size-fits-all plan

>tax cuts for billionaires
stimulating american economy.

>if only there were a middle ground

Thats the whole game, there is no middle ground. It creates class warfare among regular people and allows corporations to do whatever the fuck they want.

They don't, it's a left-wing meme insult that betrays utter loathing and disrespect for half of the country. Basically, the average liberal mind sees poor Republican voters voting against larger government and thinks, "But larger government means more welfare for these people! Why would they ever vote against that? They must be idiots!" Never once considering that people might vote based off of principle or consistent political opinion, or any other reason besides "whatever gives me the most free shit". This is a common consequence of the post-conviction world; people don't even understand the concept of conviction itself, only immediate self-interest.

This. Glad theirs rational critically thinking outside of the infectious r/Donald Conservashit Sup Forums hivemind

> ameripoos seriously believe this

> Never once considering that people might vote based off of principle or consistent political opinion

muh abortion

>I would love to see a Sup Forums filled with only idiots from brazil and australia.
Don't worry, you won't :^)

Go cook meth Cletus if you can't compete in the labor for with unskilled Mexicans you dumb inbred cunt lmao

> I'm unable to compete on the labor market so I wanted a job to be handed to me
Sure doesn't seem like welfare to me.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_Ryne_Goldberg

i always think of this guy when people post shit like this.

>the invisible hand

There's a reason nobody serious says this meme shit anymore.

this

Then how come you're still here?

What gives?

social issues drive politics as much as economics, and one's position on those issues aren't entirely rational

How many lolbertarians does it take to screw in a light bulb?

None , the invisible hand of the free market will screw in the light bulb lmao

Ahh, the contrarian wheel turns yet once more and all is well.
I like it, the Sup Forums echo over the whole of Sup Forums was getting tiresome.

> too dumb to understand a simple metaphor
"Meme" shit indeed. Shadilay!

its working for me still

I agree . Now we see how poorly this country is getting rubbed by a con man snakeoilsman Drumpf who Daley promised his voters jobs that are NEVER coming back , an incompetent criminally corrupted republican congress back by Russians , and exposing the Drumpf voters to be uneducated hostile retard , i expect to see more balanced views on Sup Forums

Imagine the cable TV model applied to every aspect of the internet. The cheap package only gets you access to the top 100 most visited websites and you can only stream in 720p unless using a service that pays the ISP more. Arbitrary decisions about what content to deliver and what to block. Using websites outside their "standard selection" costs more on a per view basis or a bandwidth basis.

Big internet companies can pay for preferential bandwidth so companies/sites that don't pay get throttled to make bandwidth room for paying companies when they are in high demand. ISPs will make deals with large companies to provide preferential access to their services over their competitors.

And to cap it all off, 51% of Americans live in an area with only one ISP. 38% in an area with only 2 ISPs. If you get stuck with a shitty ISP, there's nothing you can do about it.

Sup Forums was a mistake

I seriously don't remember this level of idiocy on this site prior to /new/ and Sup Forums

Really?

>echo chamber
>"stimulating american economy"

That's the biggest buzzphrase in politics. Politicians can clearly fuck over 99% of the population and you retards will actually say it's a good thing.

That's because you weren't here

Sup Forums was my mainboard from 2012-2016. I can't fucking stand that place now. It's absurd. Sup Forums went full retard.

This. Can we ask moot to delete Sup Forums once an for all? Sup Forums is really becoming responsible for dumbing down newer generations to voting against their interests

been here since 2008, friend

It would be acceptable if it was a containment board, but at this point it very clearly is not

It's like a bucket of shit overflowing it's slop on everything surrounding it

>I seriously don't remember this level of idiocy on this site prior to /new/ and Sup Forums
You weren't

>See also: Ben Garrison

...

Imagine shit like this
>You have a monthly bandwidth limit
>Preferred Sites (tm) don't count towards your bandwidth limit
>Preferred Sites (tm) load 10x faster than all other sites
>4k streaming is only allowed on Preferred Sites (tm)
>You get a monthly discount based on how much time you spend using Facebook and Google services
>Your Basic Service plan only allows access to the top 1000 domains
>Sites outside your service can be unlocked on a per site basis, but cost double bandwidth
>Pornography costs triple bandwidth

>it's another naive child tries to defend creating a nanny state episode

Net Neutrality is fucking bullshit

what we really need to do is abolish government created local monopolies

wired.com/2013/07/we-need-to-stop-focusing-on-just-cable-companies-and-blame-local-government-for-dismal-broadband-competition/

I hold that it's just a side-effect of the internet in general going more and more mainstream, rather than Sup Forums. Hell the internet as a whole was generally apolitical till about 2007.

Where do you work?

What's your tax plan when all the billionaires leave because you tax half their income?

why is it a bad thing that elon musk gets a tax cut so he can produce and innovate more?

I don't understand?

Why do you want to tax the rich?
How would that help you personally?
Will your wages increase?

...

do leftists actually believe this will happen

they've been saying this shit for 20 years and nothing has happened

Oh no, wouldn't want to miss out on the pittance those scum are paying presently

network neutrality is the only real reason regional monopolies aren't being busted up, as if the regional monopolies all have to offer mostly identical services, no reason to give a shit about network neutrality.

They're basically the same issue. Except no one wants to find out how creative our corporate masters will get if they don't have to treat all data identically.

I'm all against net neutrality if it means the people will start banning all the porn that features white boys and white women, and leave only porn that features white women with a black men.

otherwise, I don't fucking care.

minimum wage needs to be abolished, unions are cancer, healthcare was much more cheaper and affordable before the government got involved in the 70s, tax cuts all around are a good thing

Because network neutrality kept getting upheld for 20 years you fucking dunce.

Apple has been receiving massive state and federal tax cuts for the last decade to supposedly bring in more jobs. They currently have over 250 billion in cash on hand, a record that's been growing since the end of the recession. They're not spending that shit to hire workers. If you give companies tax breaks they just increase corporate bonuses and pay higher at the top. If you're going to give tax breaks at least create incentives that reward companies for creating jobs instead of handing them the cash and then hoping for the best

That is how AOL worked

I've also seen that exact same system used overseas when I've visited family

Any decent tax rate would cause them to leave regardless. If they're in it to make profit, why not live in or work through a tax haven? Fuck, people already did that with the Panama Papers.

If we change policy out of fear of billionaires leaving, then we're giving them the power to hold significant sway over our country.

but then there would be even less production and your wages would be even LOWER

also, wages in the USA are actually really high, it's just that they are forced to pay you in inflated currency that the US government has destroyed most of it's value

Non Sup Forums here. Whats going on and why should I care?

>dialup with AOL
>minimize AOL's bullshit
>use netscape
>eventually figure out how to dialup without the AOL program
>use netscape

>spend a day downloading several minutes of pornography

You still haven't explained how people are going against their interests

Slapping tariffs on foreign goods and heavily discouraging manufacturing outside of the states to protect "muh jerbs" as Trump promised will only drive up the price of goods (like a $400 iPhone), lowering the quality of life the most for the poor who can no longer afford these goods. The jobs are leaving anyways because the world is moving on (for example, goodbye coal).

trump dumped network neutrality almost as his first act in office and now comcast is making noises about how great their new internet (AOL2.0) is going to be.

Because Elon Musk already earns a massive profit from his companies as is. He doesn't require an extra incentive.

>Because network neutrality kept getting upheld for 20 years you fucking dunce.
no you idiot, there was never any real neutrality law
isps made everything neutral on their own

>They're not spending that shit to hire workers.
doesn't matter, even if they don't spend it, it increases the value of all other currency in the economy, it's actually better if apple holds on to it than if the government used to to waste more resources

>If you give companies tax breaks they just increase corporate bonuses and pay higher at the top
they only get these bonuses because the federal reserve basically gives them free money
why do you think the stock market is so high?

>That is how AOL worked
AOL was destroyed by market competition
why does the free market always win?

>also, wages in the USA are actually really high,

Regional monopolies aren't caused by net neutrality. You think once net neutrality is removed existing ISPs will suddenly move into other regions and end the monopoly?

The regional monopoly is caused by the fact that it's virtually impossible to create a competitive company. Lets say you want to break up a regional monopoly with your own ISP company. First you need to lay your own cables to transmit internet. This costs hundreds of millions of dollars and several years. Then you run into the fact that existing ISPs have deals with regional municipalities to prevent new cable laying to protect their monopoly. It's millions of dollars and years of construction and litigation before you can serve your first customer.

So long as that is the case, there will never be competition among ISPs. They are content to carve out regional monopolies and keep out of each other's space, satisfied that there will never be an upstart company to disrupt them. Net neutrality isn't holding the monopoly together, the economic realities of building an ISP company is.

No, no, you misunderstood him, user.

High compared to the rest of the developing world. :^)
