I can tell that you have a very large intellect since you dislike a popular piece of media. Disliking something universally agreed upon to be a classic surely proves that you reside far above the common sheep.
Yes it was.
Not a comedy. It was Kubrick seeing into the future and depicting the Trump era 50 years ahead of time.
Just replace Jack D. Ripper with Donald J. Trump
If you didn't chuckle at the War Room line, there's no hope for you as a person. Go get some help.
Kill yourself
it's not funny. it's sarcastic, which is high art funny.
IT
WAS
HER
TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad b8
>two guys fighting
>"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room."
Haha, I get it. They're fighting and the room is called the war room. Truly genius humor
do you wear graphic tees and maybe browse a certain website that isnt this one and maybe love steven universe and/or pokemon?
it was reddit before reddit
t. redditor
Fail-Safe is better.
I think it's funny
i actually didn't think it was that funny either. Its overrated because of the subject of its parody.
It wasn't scary
I agree. The Deep State will kill us all. Also, fuck Russia now for some reason. MAGA
Sure it wasn't u fucking communist
It is but comedy has degraded so much that current generations no longer find it funny.
I thought it was pretty damn scary watching it as a kid. Last genuinely terrifying film I watched was Hush, so it's not like that's a good indicator of a quality film.
hah, sarcasm. hilarious
That's probably the closest thing in the film to a joke, as least as far as I remember. Not too bad, actually.
Well, it didn't make Putin laugh.
Kubrick wanted to end the film with a pie fight to parallel the exchange of nuclear weapons.
There was also the "you're going to have to answer to the Coca Cola Company"
the jokes are fucking dad jokes, weak stuff
Hm, I guess you're right: the actual jokes in this movie really sucked.
If I get dubs you will have to suck my dick until you choke and die
OP is not a Water Man
-"Blast off!"
-Sapped Bodily Fluids
-Mine Shaft Gap
-Cowboy riding the bomb like a bucking bronco
-Strangelove's lame arm giving a Nazi salute (erection) every time he talks about nuclear annihilation or social darwinism, culminating in his whole body becoming erect when the world is about to end
Plenty of gags in the film.
>DUDE WHERE ARE MUH QUIPS, WHY IS THE ROCK NOT IN THIS MOVIE MAKING LE FUNNY FACES
You two are fucking retards.
I agree. It's just not funny. The ending overacting is Scary Movie sequels tier.
It's too intelligent for you.
Well, those are GAGS, not Jokes.
Nice stramanning. What jokes were there weren't funny. Pointing out jokes which you assume, (wrongly, in my case), we think are funny don't make the jokes in the movie funny.
They aren't funny to you because you're a fucking retard, any normal person appreciates the jokes in this movie.
*farts*
Okay... If I were to list the best parts of the movie, it would hardly be the jokes.
rolling
>any normal person
Exactly. Back to plebbit, normalfaggot.
this dude gets it
im sure kubricks intent was to make the audience break out into furious laughter
Sorry Reddit but Reddit trash like you is unable to understand this movie because of the lack of quips and lack of niggers, just fuck off back to your reddit shithole already.
I know that's your biggest dream, faggot.
ITT underage plebs who don't find anything that doesn't involve Will Ferrell screaming funny
>triggered plebitor in meltdown because not everyone sucks Kubrick's cock
you aren't smart for finding this funny, desperate to look smart at best.
>DUDE WHERE ARE MUH QUIPS
>DUDE WHY IS WILL FERREL NOT MAKING FUNNY NOISES
Jesus H Christ, Reddit... This is embarrassing even for trash like you.
You seems needlessly aggressive. The humor in this movie is very dry, not really its best aspect, and not funny. To say that everyone who doesn't like this is a rube, or mention reddit three times in a run-on sentence doesn't convince anyone. I don't even think the post of most of the jokes was to be "funny," but that's just what I think.
It's not Naked Gun you fucking idiots, there aren't supposed to be knock knock jokes.
Everything about the film is funny. If you need someone spoonfeeding you one liners capeshit is your thing. Stop spreading stupid.
>dry humour isn't funny because I'm an Amerilard who doesn't want to think about things, I like it when the rock and Samuel Jackson jump off the roof in the other guys though xD and Will Ferrell screaming as a news man! HILARIOUS! HAHAHA
dry humour is infinitely better than muh will ferrell shouting, and even then Dr Strangelove isn't entirely deadpan -

Okay. I remember the scene where that effeminate Limey needs to make a call, and is looking for some coins (I think), and the American GI just bashes open the coin collector in the phone. That was somewhat funny, but hardly genius, and I don't think the jokes the strong suit of the film. Btw, was the incredibly contrived ending of that faggy Brit somehow figuring out some code based on that general's speech? Because if it wasn't a joke, it was incredibly contrived and absurd, and if it was, I don't get it. Was a reference to something else?
lol
>tries to take the intellectual high ground
>spouts memes and reddit
keep digging m8
I get it, but it's not that funny. It actually seems funnier here than it does in context, when there's a very serious story about the world coming to an end, and then this scene comes up. Even without the conflicting tone, it isn't that great.
Dry humor is a German thing. I can safely say it's not funny when an american jew tries to do it.
>germans
>any sense of humour
there seems to be some serious [citation] needed for your baseless claims of dry humour being a german thing
>jokes
there you go again. Go watch some flicks were a dude shoves his dick in a pie. Right up your alley.
You don't know what you're talking about.
You really can't imagine how somebody might not that find this film that funny and also dislike low, slapstick humor?
OP this once is not a faggot, but actually right. What a shit movie.
Kung Pow > Strangelove
you must be American given your total inability to understand irony
I'm saying if you can't find this funny then your sense of humor is damaged or needs time to gestate.
You're just not funny.
I do not avoid retards on Sup Forums user. But I do deny them my essence.
They're a lost cause user, leave them to feast on their Anchorman 6
I found the scene with the German doctor struggling against his latent Nazism somewhat funny watching it many years after I first saw the film, but I don't think it's that funny it context. Does that count?
Would a laugh track help you? We wouldn't want you thinking too much, you already have to try and co-ordinate your fat arms to clap and holla at your television
Reminder that Kubrick is an overrated director with no good movies
>b-but b-barry lyndon
...
I don't own a television.
>you don't like my entry-level Kubrick garbage? you must only like lowest-tier comedy imaginable!
Seriously, get your head out of your ass. You're a tier lower than people who think they're smart because they watch Rick and Morty.
The movie is not as funny as you want it to be.
>"Only 20 million dead tops, given the breaks"
Dialogue in Kung Pow is great, every fight scene is fucking atrocious though.
Cool Qhwuips
plebs don't like will ferell
Are you actually retarded?
>Dry humor is a German thing
German and humor are two words that can't be in the same sentence.
But the Germans were the authors of the biggest joke in the history of mankind.
>tfw you have to call the drunk Russian Premier and explain that the world is about to end because of you
Every scene with George C. Scott was comedy gold.
Only thanks to his German parents
(Elsaß is German damn it!)
He was incredible
youtu.be
Was that proto-Alex Jones?
Never noticed but is this "Sup Forums: the movie"?
This. It was boring as fuck really. Awful, awful flick.
>Soviets are the good guys and American right-wingers are idiots and maniacs
It's literally the opposite.
Sounds like Sup Forums though, bar the communists being the good guys which I don't think is a point the movie was trying to make.
>Hello? Uh, hello? Hello, Dmitri? Listen, I can't hear too well, do you suppose you could turn the music down just a little? A-ha, that's much better. Yeah, yes. Fine, I can hear you now, Dmitri. Clear and plain and coming through fine. I'm coming through fine too, eh? Good, then. Well then, as you say, we're both coming through fine. Good. Well, it's good that you're fine, and - and I'm fine. I agree with you. It's great to be fine. Now then, Dmitri, you know how we've always talked about the possibility of something going wrong with the bomb. The BOMB, Dmitri. The hydrogen bomb. Well now, what happened is, uh, one of our base commanders, he had a sort of - Well, he went a little funny in the head. You know. Just a little funny. And uh, he went and did a silly thing. Well, I'll tell you what he did. He ordered his planes...to attack your country.
I don't really get what you're talking about and what Sup Forums is in your view.
>bar the communists being the good guys which I don't think is a point the movie was trying to make.
It was movie about a Cold War during Cold War. There's two sides. If one side is retarded fanatics launching nukes and the other is rational one trying to figure out what is going on and how to resolve situation peacefully, who is the good guy?
The Russian side is barely present in the movie, certainly not present enough to be considered as competent and rational.
"dad jokes". Fuckin moron. stop posting please
They're present enough to not launch nukes and destroy the fucking planet because one general is convinced that communists poisoned the water.
You believe this was a comedy and not a future telling of a rape dungeon that is to come.
...
They were definitely more sympathetic.
Make up all this crazy shit about how powerful you are while your country can barely feed itself because these idiots kept buying it.
You do know that famines in the Soviet Union were practically non-existant on the last half of the XXth century right?
That's why I said 'barely' not 'not'
>that scene where Oliver Stone makes Putin watch this
It's so painful when you love a film and try to watch it with somebody who doesn't care. I felt sorry for everybody there.
Funny thing is he was more right than he knew. Maybe it was ((Kubrick)) hiding secrets in plain site
>I'm sorry too, Dmitri. I'm very sorry. All right, you're sorrier than I am.
>But I am sorry as well. I am as sorry as you are, Dmitri.
>Don't say that you're the more sorry than I am because I am capable of being just as sorry as you are.
>So we're both sorry, all right?
>All right.
