>muh lmao technology is so awesome and cool!
You're an idiot, what do you think the ending montage was trying to say? Or that they'll eventually end up at the Quagmire?
because black on white cripple, girl on girl is hawt, shitlord deal with it
because everyone dies and the idea of a techno afterlife is comforting.
*blocks your path
Its really the only feel good episode
It's not my favorite but it is really good. I'm sure the lesbos added to its exposure and praise
MUH EIGHTIES AESTHETIC
MUH LESBIANS
MUH BLAND BORING GIRL GETS ATTRACTIVE PARTNER
LOOK AT ALL THE PRETTY COLORS
OMG GUYS
OOH BABY, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THATS WORTH?
Because it's a nice little bittersweet story centered around an interesting sci-fi concept that hasn't been done a lot in this way.
Nah I'm just kidding it's 80's dykes.
>muh dikes
>muh 80s nostalgia
I don't get how these even go together. Gay bashing was a fun hobby back then
Nobody would've even sit with them at that club if they knew since they'd be afraid to get aids from breathing in air from around them
Brooker has said that this episode has the only happy ending in the series. I don't know where your shitty opinion fits in to that.
I'll give you another chance to edit the second half of your post into something decipherable.
This. 90% of them were just edgy crap.
Though I'll admit liking the xmas one though
That's because it isn't the real 80s and is basically just a shitty tumblr fantasy
>has video of him jerking
Yeah that would be enough to blackmail guys into committing bank robbery and murder.
It was the only episode successfully combining a solid sci-fi concept with artistic vision, only one that had a real distinct atmosphere.
I know that autism makes one insensitive to such things though, so I don't blame you for having no idea what I'm talking about.
What about the bees episode?
...
I'm not sure how anyone could think that's the best one
They made it pretty obvious he was jerking to cp
You know why.
>techno afterlife is comforting.
Not really, and it represents a lack of imagination to think that people would want to live out eternity in some stereotypical simulations of various eras. It also really didn't effectively deal with such a premise. It basically showed how some people basically live out lives of extreme hedonism for eternity, and somehow, that wouldn't happen to this couple? Why?
But black mirror isn't meant to be all classic sci-fi and arty and american. It's meant to be edgy and slightly disturbing
You sound like Sisko when he needed to be told that holodeck programs aren't the real representations of pre-Civil Rights America.
Both the main characters were total cunts. Fucking queers.
Exactly. If these gay tumblr people glorifying San Junipero were even alive in the 80s, its guaranteed they'd fucking HATE it.
>a pleb so entry-level he literally believes in the intentional fallacy like it's a God
>this wouldn't happen
What makes you think it wouldn't? Do you really think any happy ever after story would hold up if followed through? Just because it ended positively doesn't mean it wouldn't look depressing when revisited (like most life stories).
>Its really the only feel good episode
That's probably it fails to explore the question of a simulated eternity, and instead, deals with some shallow romance and conflict somehow being able to marry in a coma, but not submit to assisted suicide.
What if they were gay?
you missed 90% of the episode if you think that's what it was about
>solid sci-fi concept
People transferring their consciousnesses to machines is not "solid" sci-fi, it's full of holes everywhere you look. It's not even original sci-fi.
>distinct atmosphere
How can you even say that. There were literally 5 different "distinct" atmospheres throughout the entire episode.
Furthermore, the episode goes completely against the overall theme of the show. Take your bullshit romance story elsewhere, it's not Black Mirror
Too cliche
>What makes you think it wouldn't?
I don't think that, but the story doesn't even hint it. It did show people basically becoming miserable because they're living out their lives without purpose where nothing is real, and the black woman practically said her husband was right to chose death, and then the two women ride out in the sunrise, basically failing to deal with any of the problems raised in the episode, so it's a "sweet" ending not addressing but fails in what all other Black Mirror episodes achieved.
this
and only weird Sup Forums users like
would immediately jump to the idea of him being a pedo. It seems perfectly reasonable to not want a video of you wanking exposed. The things he has to do gradually build up and up until you start wondering sure. But after he had done something seriously bad of course he was going to have to commit to the rest of it
>Brooker has said that this episode has the only happy ending in the series
It's only happy by the standards of the series. It's implied the Quagmire's (BDSM nightclub) patrons weren't deviants to begin with, they became jaded after experiencing decades of conventional hedonism. This path may be inevitable, even for genuine lovers like the protagonists.
As for your "technology yay" comment, the ending montage juxtaposing the simulation and the rows of computer servers is clearly meant to be dark and to pose the obvious existential question.
>a child with autism so severe he believes his head-canon overrules the collaborative work of many talented, acclaimed storytellers
Or he could've stopped before the robbery. Before that, he was just delivering cake.
I thought this at first too, as it seems only the guy he kills was wanking to cp, but apparently the kid was too
>the good old days
Of course they would. Our pop culture is drenched in nostalgia, and it's still just a company selling a product
Yeah i forgot the order. But it wasn't obvious straight away and i didnt guess it was cp so maybe it was ruined a bit for you
yeah i realised he was by the end. I was just trying to say that that wasn't what sprang to my mind at the start
>only weird Sup Forums users would immediately jump to the idea of him being a pedo
Shouldn't you watch the episode before commenting?
>youtu.be
>Of course they would
Okay. I think something more similar to what's found in MMOs is more likely.
shut up and dance was pure kino
>Exactly. If these gay tumblr people glorifying San Junipero were even alive in the 80s, its guaranteed they'd fucking HATE it.
So? We'd all hate living in the Iron Age, doesn't mean we couldn't an idealised simulation of it.
because its actually good. Was definitely the most emotional episode of the franchise. the fucking soundtrack reflected this and it was GOAT. indisputably best song in the entire show
also them being gay wasnt the focus of the story. it was more about who each character was and their motives and why they did the things they did.
imagine having the choice to live forever in comfort or letting it all go and getting swallowed by the unknowable abyss that is death. imagine having to choose and the different people you love in your life are spread between the two. what do you choose?
and i dont care what anyone says but clint mansell is an absolutely based composer.
now bask in the glory of the best song. join me in the feels bros...
That is at the end of the episode. Maybe you should learn what the word immediately means
Yeah there's no way you could convince me to live in, say, the Middle Ages, but if I could live in a comfy simulated fantasy version where I just live in a little plague-free village making fucking bread and milking cows all day I'd be down.
Reminder that this episode would have been amazing if they went ANYWHERE with it, but instead they spend forty minutes on a tired, cliched love story without real resolution.
Actually thought provoking conepts (eg. Love/relationships over the course of eternity, tranferrence of consciousness to machines, machine simulation of the soul) were all put aside for
>I think I love you but muh dead husband :((( good thing there's no stakes to this eternity thing and I can pull out whenever I get bored of you :)))) also remember atari???!! :DDDDD
>magine having the choice to live forever in comfort or letting it all go and getting swallowed by the unknowable abyss that is death. imagine having to choose and the different people you love in your life are spread between the two. what do you choose?
They only spent about 5 minutes of the episode exploring this premise, and the conclusion was, dude, it makes our vaginas feel tingly, so it must be right
literally this comics: The Movie
I was mostly bored throughout this episode as well, maybe I figured it out too quickly. It's basically that one episode from Futurama except not funny and with lesbians.
Which will be wholly avoidable, a non issue, when brain/machine shit gets rolling
ship of theseus
Really though, how many of them didn't you figure out immediately?
- The PM was obviously going to fuck the pig
- The replay device was going to ruin the guy's life
- The woman was going to ditch the clone of her dead husband
- The chick was going to lose her 4.2 rating hard
- The game was going to kill the playtester
- The monsters were actually normal people
- The killer bees were a trap for the public
Black Mirror isn't really about "figuring out" a clever twist. It's about us getting shown a technology which is obviously dangerous up front and then watching as the people involved figure out how bad it is.
Bullshit mate.
You make a complete atom-for-atom copy of yourself, which body does your consciousness inhabit? How is that different than making a robot copy, even with augmentations?
Are you all retarded? He wasn't jerking it to cp he was being blackmailed with the possibility that THEY would say it was cp, Brom even went uses this possibility to get the little kid to rob the bank.
White christmas would have been better without the double twist where he gets blocked from everyone
I'm laughing hard at your image. How's that happened?
It doesnt surprise me that this board is cinematically retarded.
that vague fluid being excreted from the body at death was their 'essence' the episode is one of the few that is comprehensively affirmative. she says at at the end, im ready to see whats next, its an uncommon sentiment in media, which usually trivializes agency and highlights novel circumstance. this episode is exceptional, you think feel good sentimental stuff is common but its not and its usually far more cloying.
You won't be making a copy immediately and putting it into a slot
Over a long period of time your memories and core brain functions will negotiate between organic and digital, some here some there until some point they end up on some beyond organic platform, that simple.
thinking its a straightforward, one time upload is stupid
I guess the only way to verify would be if you were the one getting the brain transplant. From the outside it would look as if nothing had changed.
I guess this all boils down to whether you believe in the concept of the human soul
hasnt been scientifically supported to exist in any way shape or form
a non issue
...
>most interesting science fiction concept in the entire show
>does nothing with it
Literally only popular because it has lesbians. This episode is calculated tumblr bait to get normies watching.
She ducked something thrown at her and that just "happened" to be the pose she struck.
represented blacks, women and lesbians. also because it was a throwback to the 80s which is hugely popular rn
he was a pedo
>dark ending
>belinda carlisle
you stupid nigger!
This
Social Network one way better
Oh you are dumb.
>Defending Juan perino
>Reddit spacing
Everytime. Why can't you just admit it you loved it because it featured two beautiful dykes in an 80's setting ?
Gosh guys
>not liking the one with bees the best
casuals.
