Hack the planet!
What's the opposite of kino?
Onik.
What do you mean "now"? It always has been Kino. Sup Forums always points out how it's the most comfy movie or one of the most.
Someone post that webm of the flying semi from some capeshit.
Is this about the Russians ?
...
Shiiiiiiiiiiiit
why did they treat joey like a scrub?
Very outdated movie. You cannot make a movie like this today, same goes with Kids.
KINO certified.
MESS WITH THE BEST
DIE LIKE THE *******BLANK*****
One of my top 5 favourite kinos
Literally me.
I unironically get goosebumps from that
BvS
>le kino le meme le comfy le reddit
Kill yourself.
buttmonkey of the group
he'd be treated better if he weren't a buttmonkey
Because he was an insufferable script kiddie.
But thats only because he was young. He deserved all the stick he got
man these actors actually look like the 90s kids fags who hanged around the computer labs and librarys when not everyone had computers
The fact we never got a sequel or TV series spin off is the biggest travesty ever. It was a shit movie when it came to hacking, but a brilliant movie when it came to sub-cultures, masks and the grey area of the right thing to do, the law, and general morality.
It's kinda sad that they've never really got big, while the chick became fucking Angelina Jolie.
they look like kids from my DDR club
I rented this in 98 and my 13 year old self thought it was the coolest movie I've ever seen.
>"Now that the dust has settled"
I'm pretty sure the dust has settled and been transformed by time and pressure into sedimentary rock at this point.
Man, who hasn't had days like that?
Well it's movie from when computers were still equivalent to magic for most people, so yeah. Kids, huh? The other movie this always makes me think of is Real Genius.
Yeah. Side note: still probably my favorite version of angelina.
I dunno, Scooby and Jonny Lee are probably happy enough with their careers, dunno about Lord Nikon.
>I rented this in 98 and my 13 year old self thought it was the coolest movie I've ever seen.
Up to then, it may well have been. There were other cooler movies before this, I just don't know if you would have seen them.
Yes
Hack the Planet!
based garbage man protecting the Gibson
skateboarding manlet villain
and the mom from tim allens show that was just cancelled
I frequented my local rental place and had movie posters all over my room. I had my $2.50 and picking out a VHS was quite a roulette back then. Perhaps my love for tech swayed me to get this when I saw the trailer right before Mortal Kombat feature started.
It was always my dream to work for a movie rental place. Since they don't exist, I have no dreams.
RISC is good
Dumping some images from the first edition of .net magazine.

fuck yes it was and is kino
>prime pixie Angelina
>great soundtrack
>fun stupid script
>good feels
mess with the best, die like the rest
Yes, unequivocally.
JL Miller is based af. Should've been in more stuff.
these are awesome

How long till we get the inevitable reboot? And who will play Dade?
It was very cool depiction of the internet environment at the end of high tech life. Funny that I thought this was very accurate at the time of it coming out. But some parts are blur as I see it now, though. (笑´・艸・)
i refuse to watch a reboot of this, Hollywood won't be able to recapture the magic
>It was a shit movie when it came to hacking, but a brilliant movie when it came to sub-cultures, masks and the grey area of the right thing to do, the law, and general morality.
This user knows whats up
>I had my $2.50 and picking out a VHS was quite a roulette back then
Holy crap was it ever. We didn't have a big blockbuster or anything like that, just a little mom-n-pop video place. There were some gems in there, but there was a hell of a lot of trash, too.
>It was always my dream to work for a movie rental place.
I always wanted to work in a music store, because of pic related. Same problem.
Yes
Only way to do it right would be a totally different take, probably go really dark with it. Take all the light moral quandaries and make them explicit, make it a bit more gray who the good and bad guys are, etc.
Next year
Channing Tatum
no, they can make a new movie with different characters and a different plot inspired by Hackers, but FUCK reboots
every single fucking reboot does nothing but tarnish the original movie
i disagree, i think a reboot could be cooler than ever
it just needs the imagination that is sorely lacking from movies these days
Dade - Dane Dehaan
Kate - Cara Delivigne
Joey - Tom Holland
Cereal - Robert Pattinson
Nikon - Joey Bada$$
Phreak - Shia Labeouf
Plague - Rami Malik
go
Jonny Lee makes like a quarter mil per episode on Elementary. Im sure hes fine.
Who can recast Penn Gillette's character?
>Angelina Jolie's fuggen DSL
ELECTRONIC OLD MEN
>favorite version of Angelina
Excellent taste.
This is user talking about it being outdated. What's wrong with Real Genius? I love Val Kilmer.
>every single fucking reboot does nothing but tarnish the original movie
Most do, yeah. Not all. Nolan's Batman covers plenty of ground Burton didn't. Carpenter did shit with The Thing that Hawks never even dreamed of. Likewise Cronenberg with The Fly. The '78 body snatchers is arguably the definitive edition. The Casino Royale remake is probably the best james bond movie. The 2012 Judge Dredd was so much better than the 90's version they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath (ever again).
99% likely you're right, and a hackers reboot would suck. But there's also a 1% size chance of awesome.
>What's wrong with Real Genius?
It feels at least as dated as Hackers. People just don't use space lasers to blow up giant popcorn bags in people's houses anymore.
i've been scarred too many times, Ghostbusters, Robocop, Knight Rider, Total Recall, Terminator, fucking Baywatch, Conan etc.
they need to leave the classics alone, all the remakes are money grabs with none of the passion that made the originals great
What are your thoughts about Young Eienstein?
We aren't getting any Scarface's any time soon.
inb4 PG-13 Scarface with Michael Cera in the lead is announced
This is going to be shit
It spawned a generation of AOL retards and their "progz".
>in HS
>learning HTML on my own
>friends all call themselves "leet" and whatnot
>constantly quoting that movie and playing in AOL chatrooms with fellow idiots
>building my own website, got it done
>send the link to my friends, log off
>there are 2 .gif skulls, one nods, one shakes it's head
>click on the nodding one, takes you into my website
>the shaking head one takes you to disney.com
(I also was cringe-tier edgy sometimes)
>next day, friends complain about website
>"all it had was 2 skulls on it dude, that wasn't sheet"
>proceed to jerk each other off about how leet they are because they have progz
>stupid fucks couldn't even figure out how a simple HTML based website, but call themselves leet because they have a mailbox full of progz and warez they got from someone else
>dat Bowie
Neat.
>implying it'd be a movie
Tv series following the adventures of a group of teenage hackers living in NY at the cusp of the digital age? It's set up for all kinds of stories, from the problems in inner-city schools in NY at the time, hacking, regular old teenage love problems... And don't forget the early 90's music and fashion, to really bring you back in time.
>Young Eienstein?
fuuuuuck I forgot that movie even existed.
what's Yahoo Serious doing these days?
depends. it is the coen bros
i found this cd while thrifting. one of my favourite finds.
Mathew Lillard was fairly big. Not Angelina Jolie big, but he was in some great movies.
>Total Recall
>no passion
U wot? Did you not pay attention to the world building? They definitely cared when making that, that's why they made it so different from the Arnie one and why the cityscape looked so good. I have no problem watching both of them because of the divergent stories as well as the difference in tone that the whole world has.
With the Coens helming it? Not a chance. It's good material and those guys do not make low quality movies. They don't always have the best ideas FOR movies (Burn After Reading, for instance, was just a shit premise that couldn't be saved), but each of the elements of the production is always top-shelf.
Something like scarface, where the framework is already in place and all they have to do is decorate it? That will probably be gold.
Hey someone else takes pictures of squirrels begging for food in the backyard.
You can't deny I dropped knowledge on you. Cheers, brother.
I don't have any pets and I study them for research for an RTS idea I have.
>H. R. Giger
>the dust has settled
Pretty ironic considering this movie came out probably when you were born.
