Why would it? Farmers are currently asking the military to help against the wild boar plague. I assume those ducks or whatever are very plentiful. Killing animals that lost their natural predators and reproduced too much is a good thing for the ecosystem.

It's a bit expensive and difficult to get a license, but hunting is quite big. It's considerd neccesary to especially hunt wild boars, since there are far too many. Other things like deer are also legal to hunt. Sadly in Bavaria, the state with the most boars, it's often not allowed to eat them, since they're radioactive over the limits thanks to Chernobyl.

Hunting is a form of wildlife population control in Europe.
Wild boar populations explode from time to time and hunters are encouraged to reduce the population.
Now if you start hunting things that are not allowed and endangered you will get a fine or land in jail.

Well there are many reasons why after a hunt you need to give a sample of the boar to the local environmental agency.

I personally wouldn't touch untested meat. Dieing from radiation poisoning or an endo parasite infection are some of the most horrible things that can happen to you.

True, but it's specifically in Bavaria that many get incinerated due to radioactivity, since they got the most of the radioactivity after Chernobyl. Reason is that they often dig out and consume mushrooms that absorbed radioactive isotopes. Here in the south-west most get sold to restaurants
