Is this the best CGI has ever looked? It legitimately looks real
War for the Planet of The Apes
Are we finally over the effects of Jurassic Park?
wtf is that real?! ZOMG HEHEH XD!!!!!
what ps3 game is this?
best CGI since Davey Jones...
That scene where the funny monkey is iluminated... was awsome
Nope, still looks better than
Are you fucking kidding me? This looks fake as video game shit.
Cringe
All of this technology doesnt mean jack shit when its being used on dumb shit no one cares about
>Dumb shit no one cares about
Dawn made over $700 million and War is currently outgrossing Spider Man
How is this even possible? This looks realer than real life.
I bet when it moves it will look off.
The films making more money than Spiderman dipshit, all I hope is that cape movies start getting CGI that looks as good as this, considering that a lot of the big villains will require heavy if not only CGI
CGI cannot emulate real lighting and shading. It always looks like fake shit.
God damn it china
ugly reddit pandering shit
eyes throw it off.
>"cgi cannot emulate real life!"
No shit, you fucking retard
>tfw CGI reaches a greater information density than real life, thereby transcending reality as we know it and offering us but the briefest glimpse into an infinite multiverse forever above and beyond the understanding of our flesh machine brains
it's tough shoving the QPU alignment probes into your prefrontal cortex for every showing but usually worth it
It's all in the eyes. This monkey's eyes manage to look glossy and wet without looking flat or unseeing like most comparable CGI. They appear to actually have something intelligent and knowing behind them, which is where Tarkin and Leia failed. It's a quality I can't really put my finger on other than calling it "humanity", but it really makes or breaks facial CGI, even for nonhumans.
Said the queermo with Reddit as his homepage. Go jack off to cuck porn ass face.
Get hyped for dunkirk Sup Forumsro

Fucking entry level pleb go back
>Cringe
Neck yourself faggot
First off. I saw this last night at a special thursday showing, and I'm not lying, probably 50 or more percent of the people in the theatre were seniors. Me and my girlfriend are 23 and we had an old couple in front of us and on both sides of us and it smelled like old people.
Second off, people were checking their phones 70 minutes in. It was distracting. The old man sitting beside me fell asleep and I knew when he fell asleep because his breathing changed from quiet to slow and heavy and the old lady in front kept turning around to see who was making so much noise.
Third off, when the movie ended, only 1 group of nerdy highschoolers awkwardly clapped. I felt so embarrassed for them, myself, and everyone around me. They started off clapping so confidently, like they thought they could get everyone else to clap too. Then the old lady on the other side of me was about to start clapping but when she saw no one else was joining along with them she changed her mind. Everyone left the theatre in dead silence.
Oh for fuck sakes is this already pasta?
>teal filter
I hate today's movies
I didn't like the 2nd film, thought it was dull, but the CGI work in these is amazing.
>americans clapping at a screen
>Is this the best CGI has ever looked?
Yes. Until 2020.
Which one is the second film?
I'm lost as fuck. These are supposed to lead up to Planet of the Apes, right? Is the one with Marky Mark still canon?
>movie from literally every decade
>filter
I hate all movies.
>It legitimately looks real
Remember when people said that about Avatar?
The scene with the brontosaurus, while still an effective scene, looks pretty bad these days. The side looks like one huge texture wiggling.
Good question, are we supposed to think these are all prequels to the existing films? Is it a reboot? No clue.
lol why u so mad and cringey neckbeard?
such fedora, very sad
LE CRINGE hahahahahahaha! xD
shiny wet things always look good. a shot in the jungle from the new tmnt sequel where ralph is wet looks as good as this, same with Davy Jones
This is the final movie in a trilogy that leads up to the original Planet of the Apes films
>These are supposed to lead up to Planet of the Apes, right?
Nah, I don't think so
>Is the one with Marky Mark still canon?
LOL that was never canon
What the fuck that doesn't look good at all now.
The original one, or the Tim Burton one? Or is Burtons written out completely?
If you thought watching the Star Wars prequels and jumping directly to A New Hope was jarring, try watching these and then watch Heston and those rubber monkey masks. Yeech
They actually confirmed last year that they will be making a fourth film. War is not the final one.
This trilogy isn't a leadup to the original Planet of the Apes, it's just a retelling.
Though, they might just completely remake the classic Planet of the Apes and do some new things with it while using this trilogy as its backstory.
fuck off with this
cgi in jurassic park is bad
the puppets and animatronics are what hold up
The sheer scale of Avatar's CGI is still one of the most impressive technical feats I've ever seen. Half the movie is pretty much animated and it still looks better than 99% of movie CG 8 years later. I wonder if the sequels will be as groundbreaking.
I feel like the twist is the only reason the original is even remembered. If they do that statue of liberty scene again it will be so fucking lame.
The CG in Jurassic Park was a mixture of Practical and CG.

Go back to school. They were used but nights used to look like nights, not teal colored days.
When I saw this, I thought of the Hitchcock quote about the audience knowing there's a bomb under the table but none of the characters knowing, and how it creates suspense. If they did a clever job with it, it could be interesting.
Personally, if they do a remake of the original with this trilogy as a backdrop and this truly is a reboot of the series, I'd prefer the characters who come to the Earth knowing what happened to humans, and possibly the apes building something better out of our ashes. Maybe a species-centric existential drama? Idk.
I like how the apes gradually look more and more like dudes in suits throughout the movies.
abatap?
By the time the next movie comes out maybe only 2% of Sup Forumss userbase will be from that period and I still remember way before that
Different style and different era. I love the original effects. Practical effects are always the best option in film making.
it's ok user, though it will die slowly to the current and next generation like every other good thing in this world, you will know what came before.
>War has CGI that look real for 90% of screen time
>Rogue One has a horrific Leia and Tarkin that look like they made their permanent residence in the uncanny valley
What did Disney mean by this?
wtf
I member when pic related was mindblowing and Lawnmower man
