Zergatik?
because my professor's class was so small(only me) that the authority of university scrapped the class for "efficiency" reason. 2 years have passed since she taught me the language.
A ze lotsa
Why exactly did you learn the language? Was it because of its unique history or were you just bored/not interested in other languages at the time?
hello my Chilean brother
>Why exactly did you learn the language? Was it because of its unique history or were you just bored/not interested in other languages at the time?
Linguistically it's one of the most interesting languages and i'm kinda person who can purely enjoy learning languages without thinking about "money", so why not. Also the hypothesis that euskara is the last indigenous language before IE groups came to Europe sounds ultra cool.
>tfw ergative language
FUGGIN DIFFICUVT XDDD
She seems like such a nice lady, shame her classes got scrapped.
Have some OC, hope you like it
that's weird but kinda cool
Do you guys want me to sing "Gernikako Arbola"?

Is there a big community of Euskala in Chile as well as Argentina? Also there's an institute called something like "the House of Basque" iirc?
There's a lot of people with Basque ancestry in both those countries, deal is they mostly settled the area back in the 1700s so other than surnames and genetics they're effectively Chilean now
Heh, my professor said more and more people with basque roots are getting interested in Basque and starting learning the language in the institute.
Hope "Euskara jalgi hadi mundura"!

I don't speak euskara/10
>The red ground symbolizes the Biscayan people (the race); the green saltire might represent the Oak of Guernica, a symbol of the old laws of Biscay, or Fueros; and over them, the white cross, God's symbol of Basque Catholic devotion. Thus, red, white and green have become the national Basque colors.

Do you listen to much basque music? This one has nice lyrics and also talks about the gernikako arbola

Oh is this punk? Thx for giving me info. I'm a fan of it :)
Are you a basqueboo too?
Half of my family is from Bilbao so I visit often. My father worked as a euskera teacher but didn't want to teach me when I was a kid so I never learned the language. Kind of resent that now desu.
There's a lot of great punk sung in Basque, the 80's were wild in Euskadi eu.wikipedia.org
Nigga wtf I just woke up and you're still here
Move to Washington we'ge got basques in the east and Japs in the west I live in the middle you'll be right at home
>Half of my family is from Bilbao so I visit often.
Noice, i unironically cried in front of the tree of Gernika.
>My father worked as a euskera teacher but didn't want to teach me
Maybe it's because of Franco regime or something? So presumably your name isn't a typical basque name...?
I only listened to folk music like Gernikako arbola :( thx for making me open the door to the new world
Do you love Gipuzkoa
Kek i'm outcast in this cunt so i'd be fit in
Que asco ser vasco.
Por suerte toda mi familia espanola es asturiana.
Nah, I was born in the Balearic Islands so I had to learn Spanish and Catalan, my father did not want to add a third language to that. And yes, my name is a very typical basque name.
If you want more alternative and softer stuff there's also negu gorriak. They also sing only in euskera. This one is subbed in basque and english and has nice pics from all over the basque country.

Ah i see, yeah naturally it must be difficult. So your basis of self-recognition is rather on Catalonia than on Basque?
Also thx for music, it motivates me to write uni essays a lot.

Such a beautiful place
Let's sing together
You will always be

Have mercy,

>toda mi familia espanola es asturiana
mi antepasado asturiano desde 1560*
Honestly, a bit of both. I lived in Barcelona for 5 years and I speak the language, but I consider myself Ibizan above all. I'm not a very nationalistic person tho.
Where were you in the Basque country, besides Gernika?
You will not fall,

if the Biscay assembly
behaves:
We four will take
your party
so that the Basque people
live in peace.
