Our language is a Latin one, our Laws is Lex Civilis, our classic archtecture is European and the majority of the population have European DNA, although we are mutts, not pure whites. exactly my point, why can't you people have a little humbleness and admit that you're a relatively stable and relatively developed albeit with a severe violent crime problem third world country. For example, Chile is way ahead of you in everything but Chileans on the internet admit that they're mostly mestizos and their country is still a third world one.

First, nobody believes that we are Europeans except for some very specific points of too much Germanic immigration in cities like Pomerode/SC. In fact, quite the contrary, nobody knows anything about Europe, nor do we know anything about Portugal, a country we were part of until 1822, which is quite sad actually. No one even knows who was, I don't know, D. Afonso Henriques. Everyone sees themselves as a fucking poor Latin American like the rest of the continent. Perhaps if we fought to preserve our iberian heritage like we did before we would be better.
Second, absolutely no one even believes that Brazil has 5% of the US importance. In fact, this country just suck the dick of the USA all the time ("oh, USA things works, it is wonderfull!11!"), except commies (but these do not do it for the wrong reason though).

I live in the South mate. I'm a mutt germanic/italian/portuguese like the rest of us. We are Brazilians like the rest of the country and no one thinks of Europe at all except for some people in the Itajaí Valley.
And I'm not saying this is a good thing. We shoud preserve our iberian traditions though.
