The Last Jedi

It's a shame that, no matter how good it is, negative little fuckwads will hate it just for the sake of hating it; just to prove to their friends that they're "cool" by professing to hate what everybody else likes. Carrie Fisher's final film deserves better. I personally loved TFA and RO and wish December would hurry up and get here already. Hey, negativos! You know what else everybody likes? Not sucking dick!

...

>oh god oh god I literally can't control myself from giving money to Disney™

Ok there are things that need to be sayed

>Sup Forums hates TFA because it ruined SW, but it´s obvious that Disney was the responsable, not the franchise nor the director/writing staff, perhaps the cast. Every Disney film is the same, every underdog film is the same, unless Pixar (and only sometimes), Disney's stories are always driven the same way, there's no way that Dinsey changes, it gives them money.

>TFA was a safe move, a shitty movie anyway, I won't say that i love it but there are elements that are good (Kylo Ren could be a good villain, Rey could become bad and that'd be interesting, Luke is old and perhaps isn't enough for a war, leader snoke is good material)

>The success of TFA, followed by the change of crew could be a move to make star wars a non-generic thing. Rey becoming bad, or Kylo Ren becoming good could be a plot twist, the things that earlier I said were potential material can be driven in a way of making a good film

Star Wars isn't ruined, it has been Disneyed, but there's a chance that it can be good

Just saw the trailer. Was kind of cringey tbqh.

I don't think I'll hate it. The Prequels I legitimately hated. So far, with both Rogue One and The Force Awakens I was pleasantly distracted for 2 hours. They were Ewok movie tier. Not really Star Wars, just excellent fan films.

>Star Wars isn't ruined

It's been ruined since 1999.

Outside of the things you mentioned and boyega's character arc making absolutely no fucking sense one of my problems is that well the things that went down right after the return of the jedi and before TFA seems to be way more interesting than anything that was in the TFA.

>I personally loved
>Well, MEEEEEEE personally, I feel...

Don't blow it
Keep it simple
Count you money

The mousebois have arrived

it has potential to be good, but it won't be great since it still has the awful main character

>I personally loved TFA

Stopped reading there

As an actual star wars fan I hope that the film can undo some of the catastrophic damage TFA did

I agree, there could be interesting stories in that time, perhaps a movie in wich Luke rules and Leia and Han have Ben, but in the end they lost it all and Luke has to exile or something (Like a prequel to TFA, would be nice)

They can't especially with that cookie cutter JJ Abrams and not to mention Disney.

>negative little fuckwads will hate it just for the sake of hating it;

Everyone I know loved TFA. Normies don't come here, you know. Sup Forums and this site are irrelevant to 'irl'. So stop caring so much, retard.

To me it kind of seems that the people who liked TFA are the ones who kind of pretend to like Star Wars just so that they can belong to some group or some nonsense.

-

Honestly it just felt boring and pointless as a concept. It's just repeating the orignal trilogy with a time bump.

It doesn't feel like a true continuation of the story and ideas. It just feels like a repeat.

The prequels genuinely felt like part of an ongoing story, not a separate, new thing, even though they were garbage films.

.

Basically this. I don't hate TFA, I just wish it was a continued story rather than a rehash of the OT.

RO had potential too, but the story just dragged and the finale was one "suspense build moment" after the other. Darth Vader saved that movie.

Also, literally no one was asking for a Han Solo movie. My friend is a huge Star Wars junkie and even he doesn't want it. There's so much to pull from, but they're so risk averse, it's sickening.

>Carrie Fisher's final film deserves better.
>Implying she could deliver a performance that wasn't just an appearance for continuity purposes.

She became a cultural meme, and then her 'comeback that was fairly pathetic. I wouldn't mistake any of it for talent. She was probably a decent person, but it's not a massive tragedy that some make it out to be.

I have the most respect for Harrison Ford, because we all know he only agreed to do the first film if they agreed to kill his character so he can retire in peace.

Harrison Ford looked so bored during TFA, also during the death scene you could see how relieved he looked that this shit was over.

Op, you're making an argument that's going to fall on deaf ears.

Sup Forums hates everything, and there's a reason for that. Most people who visit this place on a daily basis actually HATE coming here, but they do so anyway because they either can't stop or they have nowhere else to go.

Imagine what those kind of people do to the board. This place is a miserable hellhole. The fun of posting anonymously is completely ruined on these faggots.

The only thing they support is meme shit posting, getting into arguments and the cunny spammer. Most of Sup Forums is pure fucking human garbage.

I think you all know its true.

This.

Star Wars will never be great again. We're just chasing the first high forever.

I will purchase merchandise of this character

wow you're a really insightful and interesting person for having those deep insights and not a pretentious pseudointellectual faggot at all

>Star Wars isn't ruined
LOL sorry but Star Wars is ruined since George Lucas and now Disney ruined the saga more

Im so sorry for you for be a Disney Star Wars fan

>She was probably a decent person
She wasn't.

The only thing keeping me interested in these movies is the fate of Luke. They gave us the old blue ball treatment with TFA, so if they don't deliver or screw up Luke's character in some other way, I'm out.

That's that literally never happened.

>All this impotent rage

Thanks for proving my point.

Plenty of people like sucking dick.

Forget it user. Its chinatown.

Stfu ya faggot

Reddit is a better place for the discussion of movies and tv. This board is just for shit posting and memes. It's populated by miserable contrarian teens who hate everything including themselves.

Well, Mark Hamill already said he doesn't agree with what they did with Luke, and he probably cares about the character and Star Wars more than anyone else involved.

If you watch the last jedi only pain will you find.

>Well, Mark Hamill already said he doesn't agree with what they did with Luke

But he also said then he read the whole script and he was completely blown away and was glad to be proven wrong.

Carrie Fisher had one good role as the worst of three leads in a franchise that hasn't been good since the 70's. All she did after that were lines of cocaine. The fact that so many people idolize her is fucking pathetic.

Reddit the opinion: you need to go back.

Nope.

That was disney damage control

>you will never have a friendship like this

>Noodle arms
>Zero muscle tone
>Weighs 100 lbs
Holding off three grown men at once

LEL. Don't ever change Disney.

No, it was all from the same interview.

Its the truth redditfag. You fucks make this place worse than it needs to be.

No. You do that all on your own with your shit memes, constant negativity and non stop shit posting.

>Reddit

>This board is just for shit posting and memes.
Like i said, reddit the opinion. You just come here to drag you ass on the carpet.

People only come here to shit post user. Don't lie to yourself. There is no actual discussion.

People never actually want to talk about this movie. Topics about this film always wind up with shit posting and people arguing about off topic shit.

You retarded youngfags call everyone who doesn't agree with you a contrarian. Thats why you belong on reddit.

buy a ticket. buy two and throw one in the trash. buy the movie box set on dvd. buy figures both from the current franchise and the past franchises. buy star wars literature. buy star was glasses and bath rugs. buy star wars blankets for your children. buy star wars video games. buy apps related to star wars. erect edifices outside of your home to let the public know your devotion to star wars. pray to obi wan kenobi.

[man screaming 'IT'S SHIT!' in background]

You sound like a complete imbecile.

I know this is bait but what did u supposedly like about RO?

What damage, it was a massive pile of nothing. Except Solo dying of course, the plot went nowhere.

How dare someone have a different opinion to you.

You don't even see the irony of your own post.

>Star Wars topic
>No one actually talking about Star Wars
Keep up the good work Sup Forums. You're my favorite shit posting hell hole.

Oh, I don't doubt that. So be it.

Unlike everyone on here, who calls anyone they disagree with Reddit.

What is it with this need to have your opinions validated by anonymous autists on this site?

>space sloths

I actually feel the same way. It might be good. It might suck. But either way, Sup Forums will bitch about it.

He quotes himself

I hated TFA and RO but I'm expecting to like TLJ because Rian Johnson is quality.

>Disney was the responsable, not the franchise nor the director/writing staff,
The director of TFA cowrote it. The acting sucked too. The SW movies sucking are the fault of everyone envolved.

>Hating on Carrie Fisher
Considering she seemed like a crazy person in real life but comes across normal in film, she was a pretty good actor i'd say.

Everyone says "Starwars is good!" or "Starwars is bad!" but I will raise you a third opinion, there is no new starwars movie and you've been in a coma since 2001. Wake up Kevin! Your family misses you!

>Carrie Fisher's final film deserves better.
No she was a druggy and she didn't deserves nothing

Yes that happened, Harrison looked tired the entire movie.

i remember one article telling people to see TFA if they wanted to stay relevant. normalfags flock to that shit

...

>le prequels ruined Star Wars maymay
TFAfags everyone.

This is the level of bullshit we're stuck with now?

i appreciate your optimism, i really do, but if kathleen kennedy is involved, theres no way rey goes heelturn.

Star wars was always reddit

she was an author and a script doctor. rest is on point though.

Fuck off House of Mossad shill

this

>the only good new character gets the least screentime in every promo
why tho
