It took him 9 films, but he's finally done it. He's winning the Oscar.

He'll get the director nom but won't win. Calling it now.

knowing the academy he won't win it even though he should. It's a fucking god damn masterpiece.

>100% whites

Not a chance

Will get nominated for a shitload of categories, but will win only for Best Sound Mixing.
Oscars don't particularly like war films

not enough diversity. homecoming will get it

The label 'Reddit' is thrown around here pretty casually but never has the hat fit as snugly as it does on Christopher Nolan's bloated head. The man is a living, breathing representation of everything wrong with the film* industry.

Everything the man touches seems intent on making stupid people feel smart. Every shot, cut and line of dialogue feels like a not-so-subtle nudge to make the intellectually stunted feel like they're in on some intricate evolution in the art of plot.

The sad truth is that Nolan is indeed a genius. Not a filmmaking genius, but a genius at pulling the wool over the eyes of the stupid, ignorant and uncultured swine that currently shovel money into the pigsties of Hollywood.

Christ have mercy on cinema's legacy if this man is to be inducted within its great halls.

*I shudder to use the word 'film' in the same paragraph as the name 'Nolan' but it is unavoidable in this case.

its not a traditional warfilm

kys

He'll win Best Director and the film will also win Best Score, Film Editing, Cinematography, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, and Production Design.

Then, sadly, Dunkirk will probably lose BP to whatever SJW film comes out which only nabs a screenplay award and maybe one of the supporting actor categories (probably Detroit).

can't read this sorry, try harder next time

Hacksaw Ridge deserved to win as well but it didn't because Hollywood is controlled by liberals and Jews.

Go stick your dick up your vacuum cleaner.

Uhmmm, no sweetie, a movie with no diversity shouldn't win any awards.

...

Hacksaw Ridge was garbage trash

Nice argument you have there.

>Hacksaw ridge
Absolute shit

No way.

Yeah I can see this happening. He might have released it too early in the year and it's possible that if people keep raving about it in the weeks to come and write it off as the film to beat that by the time the Oscars actually roll by everyone will have enough Nolan fatigue for there to be a backlash against the film.

Seeing it in real 70MM Imax and if it's actually good but doesn't translate to a win it'll be a real shame.

>all white male cast

No oscars confirmed.

Jlaw Sandra Bullock Hathaway Vikander and Stone all have ((((((oscars)))))) lol. The oscars arent awarded on merit 98% of the time.

Might be a meme but with the recent influx of new diverse oscar members, there's no way a movie with all white males will ever win an oscar for a big award anymore, maybe director that's it

Not that oscars mean much before that

>tfw Detroit is mediocre but b/c of the subject matter it gets a 99% on RT and wins all the Oscars

Fucking shame.
Then again I'm not surprised after last year.

Also forgot to add that it has no diversity and that makes a media backlash 10000X more likely come awards season.

Very possible that when Detroit comes out news outlets will start pushing a Bigelow and POC camp VS. Nolan and Old-school white boys camp narrative for clicks, and we all know how that will probably turn out.

If it makes a shitton of money, then other films like Detroit will look like underdogs by comparison, not to mention John Boyega's fans from SW would love to see their hero get legitimized and will shill as hard as they can even if that film isn't decent. If Dunkirk doesn't make bank it'll just look like a failed masterpiece destined to be forgotten.

I don't see Nolan winning this, but hey, who tf knows. He's arguably the most powerful director actively engaged in making films right now (I honestly think it's highly likely that more teens and kids know about him than Spielberg).

It's all gonna come down to what the Academy decides needs to happen to save their ratings. If they think people will shit on the show for being racist, they'll shut him out. If they think the average moviegoer will like to see Nolan win because he's a fairly populist choice, they'll crown him. Either way, it's not like these things are ever merit-based anyways, so who gives a fuck.

This is why I think Nolan very well might win Best Director and Dunkirk will sweep the techs... but a more "proper, liberal, SJW" film will win Best Picture.

Like what's happened in the past:
La La Land Won Best Director, Actress, Cinematography, Production Design, Song, and Score.

Moonlight won Bes Pic, Supporting Actor, and Screenplay.

in 2015/16:
Revenant won Best Director, Actor, and Cinematography
Mad Max won Best Prod. Design, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing, Best make-up, and Best Costume

Spotlight won Best Pic and Screenplay

in 2013:
Gravity won Best Director, Editing, Cinematography, Score, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, and Visual Effects

12 Years a Slave won Best Pic, Supporting Actress, and Screenplay.

So my prediction this early is this....
Dunkirk Wins Director, Cinematography, Score, Sound Mix, Sound Editing, Production Design, and Film Editing.

Detroit will win Best Picture, one of the supporting acting awards, and Screenplay.

That way they can reward Nolan, and please their SJW fans at the same time.

Detroit is also directed by a woman.
F

She already won once though...

"There has never been a woman winning 2 times..."
Truely a historical moment to witness. So strong.

This could be a good copy pasta with a bit more effort.

how assblasted do you have to be to delete this post?

He'll win Best Director but lose Best Picture

Cap this nerds
