So you all heard about Confederate

D&D are going to make it after Thrones is done. Its the Cival War version of High Castle and will probably focus on a modern slavery industry and possibly a third Civil War. A bunch of SJWs on Twitter are furious that this was greenlit and Sup Forumsocks are already anticipating so good old race baiting virtusignaling. Should we write it off Sup Forums or give it a chance?

>it's a "lost cause" fag claims the Civil War wasn't primarily about slavery episode

Well it talk about how the Confederate was run by Jews? Or would that trigger Sup Forumscucks

So is it just like a dramatized version of CSA? Considering D&D's style I highly doubt that the show will be endorsind confederate rule
>SJWS are freaking out
They literally always are, this show will still most likely be showing how terrible confederate rule would be

No, but they better establish that it was the Democrats that supported the Confederacy. None of this party swapping myth.

The Conference was a cute idea but obviously if it had continued to exist it would have caused a lot of problems. Like Abe said "A house divided can not stand".

I bet it'll include a scene where the tolerant progressive wife of le evil southern klansman gets blacked

So it's based on the Trump administration?

This could be so good if they consider the historical implications and don't just make black victimization porn. Like an aristocratic slave republic in the south and Caribbean that is client state to globally dominant and competing imperial France and UK with possessions in North America and a struggling USA republic beset on all sides. It would be kino.

>don't just make black victimization porn

It's 2017, why else do you think they're doing it?

>It's a "millenials think that Lincoln and Union cared about slaves and didn't want to keep them even more than the confederacy"

You're new here eh?

>Its the Cival War version of High Castle
What is the Sup Forums consensus on high castle anyway?

And GoT audience moves to Netflix's The Witcher.

>two Jews from New York and Chicago writing a show about a modern CSA
yeah I don't even care about potential SJW themes but this is going to be horseshit

Until the netflix Skyrim show comes out eventually, videogame/hollywood/stream crash can't come soon enough

I like it. I think there the way it has the Nazi state develop betray misunderstanding of how it would have actually gone done. Like the SA was done as a significant political org after the night of long knives, and it would never have survived that long with an overlapping portfolio with the SS. And state atheism as a Nazi policy feels wrong. a lot of the leadership was privately contimpuous of Christianity, but they had a lot of political support from anticommunist christians.

It's based on the novels actually, and you know that but you've decided to post it anyway.

GOT AN EMANCIPATION

Please, it would've never gotten greenlit if it wasn't for the games, maybe in 80 years or so like with LotR

When are we going to see a tv series about the Barbary salve trade.

So what? They're adapting the novels and the writer is on board and everyone involved is talking that they're not taking any inspiration from the games.

Don't care about Sup Forums or SJW whatever.
I can't imagine what sort of world-building they did to make the idea of modern day slavery actually still being viable even if Confederates won. I mean, if they can properly explain it, then it COULD be okay. I just don't see it, though. Too much international pressure, and that's ignoring that eventually industrialization would've happened and slavery would've gone away anyway (just much later than it did). It better not just be some hand-waiving to explain it.

The democratic and republican parties were completely different entities back then

It makes Hitler and Himmler the "good" guys so yeah they Sup Forums likes it

Much like Rogue One, it depicts the Resistance as incompetent tryhards

>Donald Trump plays the POTCS

>Think union/confederacy winning or loosing has anything to do with slavery not being a thing today

Loosing the american revolution war would've meant more to still have slavery today

Memes are blocking your vision. DnDs writing is abysmal at this point and I predict the same for the new Show.

>Much like Rogue One
?

lel, British were actually abolishing slavery left and right around the time of revolutionary war, they freed some states to help fight the revolution and more were coming iirc

>Loosing

Found him

you don't remember correctly

See: British Raj

>white people fought a bloody war just because they cared about freeing blacks so much
>white people are evil racists
???

I'm probably misinterpreting what you're saying, due to your inability to type coherent sentences, but I only mention that all "who won" would've done in regard to slavery is timing of when it would've ended. It would've been MUCH later, but it would've eventually happened.

Britain abolished slavery in 1833
>I will defend the rights of Southern aristocrats to keep literal sex slaves; also muh Pizzagate

>comparing British India to British America

>"""abolish""" slavery
>Still practice it til the 1950's

That picture as well as the premise of the show is retarded being as the South was fighting for it's right to sovereignty/Independence, not to conquer the USA. Shows probably gonna be a bunch of shitty history revision with the standard degenerate HBO sex appeal(BDSM, INCEST, KEKHOLDERY)

>billionaire plantation owner picking up bulls for his wife and daughter
>directed by BLACKED team

I mean, alternate history stories sort of requires some history revision

It wasn't. It was about secession. The south could have wanted to secede over the right to pick up the trash on Wednesday instead of Tuesday and the North would have still went to war over it even though the South had every legal right to secede under the 10th amendment.

Also the soldiers and conscripts who actually fought the war outside of a few plantation owners' sons who didn't bitch out and radical abolitionists who will willing to put their asses on the line didn't give one single shit about the slaves.

So what are the odds that it'll be modern day and slavery somehow still exists even though that economic model had been dying ever since the invention of the cotton gin and would only be accelerated with the introduction of new time saving innovation that made paying waged employees far more profitable than owning and maintaining slaves?

It sounds like it could be a cool show but I just fucking know if will pander to the overly enflamed SJW/Kangz/Victim base the Liberals are trying to keep alive. Either purposely to subvert like HBO does with most of it's other programs or purposely to make money, or probably both at the expense of keeping this country shitting all over one another

multiple states were on the brink of secession long before the abolition of slavery was even a thought in anyone's mind

That's literally what it is, user. Modern day, and slavery somehow existing even though it wouldn't really make sense.

If they do proper worldbuilding and have an explanation that makes sense, it could be interesting, but I can't think of a good way for it to make sense (but that just might be lack of creativity on my part). Bit of cynicism here, but I think their mostly going to hand-waive it and not properly have an explanation

>even though the South had every legal right to secede under the 10th amendment.
obviously they didn't

dude might makes right lmao

Lmfao you know the writer is insane right? Hes denounced the games too after helping them make it

They did, but the Union had enough expendable conscripts to ignore the Confederates' right to self determination

To be fair, the games are shit

They did really, since the constitution says jack shit about secession and the 10th amendment says if the constitution doesn't say anything about it then it's up to the states. Plus it would be awfully hypocritical for a nation created from secession to then turn around and say no one can ever secede from it.

But it doesn't really matter when

>this is what amerifats believe

if the confederacy lasted to modern day it would have abolished isntitutionalized slavery because its antithesis to capitalism.

of course thats why this show is retarded. Besides slavery what is interesting about the confederacy existing to today. If its going to be centered around modern slavery its a too ridiculous and heavybanded concept.

Nice to see D&D continuing their tried and true method of adapting long running book series's for the silver screen.

I love how retarded writers somehow can do mental gymnastics for the South keeping slavery longer than fucking Brazil, the last western nation to abolish Slavery at the incredibly recent date of 1888

I also guess the League of Nations and UN either don't exist in this fantasy world seeing as both passed slavery abolishing amendments in 1926 and 1948 respectively

sigh

What does he believe? Can't make heads or tails of what the fuck he's trying to say there

oh boy theres gonna be a wall isnt there? And the confederacy leader is going to have an orange toupe? And im sure there will be a few evil jocks sporting hitler youth cuts

I thought it was really good. It was a really well-realized adaptation of the world presented in the book. The second season was even better, but some critics disliked it because they thought it 'sympathized' too much with the Nazis

I'd love to see Turtledove accurately adapted

WW2 with invading alien lizard people when?

fuck trump

>DUDE WHAT IF WE STILL HAD SLAVES LMAO

That just made me think. So if America was split, and possibly wouldn't have been side-line supporting in a manner that would've resulted in Japan hitting Pearl Harbor, it would've also had the result of Russia having way more control after WW2 (since most of Europe was screwed as fuck at that point).

Would their show address a very different looking Europe, or hand-waive it? They could have something interesting for this show, but I can't get past the feeling that their hacks that will make something stupid.

He never cared for games and is jaded because he chose flat payment over royalties expecting the game to be shit and unpopular.

He very much cares for movies and tv series and is a fan of GoT.

The only interesting things about Game of Thrones was pretty much all George Martin. D&D didn't do anything but fuck the source material up, butchering it horribly.

I can't even imagine how terrible a series that they make without some great resource to draw on will be. It's going to be a fucking trainwreck, not even considering the political aspects that people on here and twitter are flinging shit about. They're fucking terrible as television writers.

of course, only the best :^)

If the civil war was about slavery, that means hundreds of thousands of white people died just so the slaves could be free. Maybe niggers can stop being so fucking whiny and thank us once in a while.

May be interesting as long as it doesn't have that much racebait.

I'll bet that it will start with, or have within the first 5 minutes, a ripped black guy fucking a blonde white woman aggressively.

It will take 2 seasons before they have a white guy/black woman romance on screen, and it will be some nazi skinhead guy who is saved by her

put me in the screencap

K I N O
I
N
O
But seriously it was really great after the first 4 episodes. Cant wait for S3

>due to your inability to type coherent sentences
>"but I only mention that all "who won" would've done in regard to slavery is timing of when it would've ended."
Holy fuck, what?

You are on the wrong board, stormfront.

>5+ years of tumblr/pol being triggered and spamming racebait everywhere

why was i born into this timeline

Modern slavery still exist in America though. It's called prison. It's just a type of slavery people are okay with. Slavery is apparently okay when it happens to someone who broke the law.

it was for the south. it wasn't for the north

It is, fuck criminals (blacks)

The balls on this fucking "guy".

Hero

...

>mfw Lee, Jackson and Stuart are going to be turned into evil, mustache twirling villains

I live in third world country where reverse racism is rampant.
So yes D&D please fuckin fan the flames.

The absolute dullest, most superficially developed part of GoT for 5 years had to do with slave states, so they decided to double down and make a whole series about it? jesus
