Depends on the city/state, swords are just long knives and some places have length restrictions. Texas used to have a 5.5" blade limit.

In most states there are blade length rules but they only apply to concealed carry, so you can walk around with a Crocodile Dundee knife hanging off your belt or a sword if you want.
