I have a math background and was interested in any anecdotes of learning math in Japan. I've heard that they don't really separate it into pieces like Geometry/Trig/Calculus/etc. It is instead all one continuous flow and it's just called math.

Japanons, question:
Pic related is Tochinoshin. He's a Georgian rikishi. From what I've read, gaiin rikishi are essentially given made up japanese names, combing different meaningful kanji together into something that sounds good.
Does his name (Tochinoshin) mean "New Land" or "New Field"?

Hey. I've recently started seriously learning kanji and I feel like recognising every radical, even in kanji I don't know, truly is a step in the right direction. Is this true? I'm already very comfortable with the kanas and pick up a word or two every now and again while watching anime. Is this the best course of action for learning nip? Do I have a chance?
Christopher Davis
Just do what feels right for you. The Heisig approach works for some people others will tell you that for them just remembering them by reading a lot helps. I dunno m8

Watch anime until you can read and then read until you can watch more complicated anime and repeat Also this isn't DJT by the way

He is a member of Kasugano-beya house, which was founded by 栃木山(Tochigiyama). Tochigiyama is from a prefecture called 栃木(Tochigi), and it is still common to have a name signifying where a wrestler is from. All the member wrestlers of the Kasugano-beya house have 栃(Tochi) in their names, probably to pay the homage to the founder. "-no shin" means "heart of."

Watch anime until you can read. What do you mean by this? Kanji can't be heard, right?
